Chapter 195: The Sealing of the Clinic

Today, Leo didn’t accompany Sophia to the family meeting. Instead, he took a taxi to a park on the outskirts of the city.
He found a secluded spot within the park and took out two books from his bag.
These two books were the “Seven Stars Fist Technique” and “Seven Stars Body Technique” he had obtained from the Seven Stars Sword Sect’s hidden stash.
Leo intended to learn these two martial arts techniques to compensate for his lack of close combat skills.
Once he mastered them, Leo planned to share these ancient manuals along with the “Seven Stars Internal Practice Technique” with Curitis and the others for their cultivation.
Although he wasn’t sure if Curitis and the others had any martial talent, he wanted them to give it a try. If they could cultivate these martial techniques, it would be a significant asset, providing him with valuable support in the future.
With his spiritual power, learning martial techniques felt like second nature to Leo, and he progressed rapidly.
After reaching the level of an Intermediate Spirit Master, Leo wouldn’t need these close combat techniques anymore. He would be able to create and use talismans, unleashing powerful long-range attacks with them.
Three hours later, Leo had completely mastered both the Seven Stars Fist Technique and Seven Stars Body Technique, and he could seamlessly integrate these two martial arts techniques.
If any martial practitioner knew about this, their jaw would surely drop in astonishment.
While the Seven Stars Fist Technique and Seven Stars Body Technique might not be considered top-tier martial skills, for martial practitioners below the Grandmaster level, it would take several years to achieve mastery in either of these techniques.
But Leo had accomplished it in just three hours, something beyond anyone’s imagination.
Just as he was about to wrap up, Leo’s phone rang in his pocket.
It was Jennifer calling. Leo pressed the answer button.
“Leo, something big has happened. The Health Bureau showed up out of nowhere. They want to seal our clinic!” Jennifer’s voice sounded extremely anxious over the phone.
Leo was puzzled. The clinic was still under renovation and hadn’t even opened for business. Why would the Health Bureau want to seal it?
After hanging up, Leo hurried to the nameless Chinese medicine clinic.
Upon arriving, he saw several enforcement vehicles parked on the road outside.
Inside the clinic, the renovation workers were nowhere to be seen. Many people had gathered around Dr. Davy and Jennifer, their expressions unfriendly, asking questions.
When Jennifer spotted Leo entering, she called out to him.
The Health Bureau officials turned to face Leo, their gazes fixed on him.
“Dr. Davy, what’s going on?” Leo asked Dr. Davy as he approached.
Dr. Davy quickly walked up to Leo and was about to speak, but a slightly overweight middle-aged man directed his question at Leo, “Who are you?”
“I’m the owner of this clinic. And who might you be?” Leo asked in a cold tone.
The middle-aged man sneered, “I thought you were too scared to show up. I’m from the Health Bureau. Today, we’re sealing this clinic!”
Sealing the clinic?
Leo found it rather amusing.
“What gives you the right to seal my clinic?” Leo asked with a cold glance.
The middle-aged man chuckled, “What gives me the right? Well, someone reported that this clinic lacks proper documentation and is operating illegally. Now, I demand that you cooperate with our thorough investigation!”
“Director Victor, this clinic has been in my family for generations. It’s been here for over a century, and all the necessary paperwork is in order. Are you mistaken?” Dr. Davy was clearly perplexed.
The middle-aged man’s name was Don Victor. He was the deputy director of the Health Bureau. He paid no attention to Dr. Davy’s words and instead addressed Leo with a raised voice, “You, as the head of this clinic, show me your medical license!”
Leo had Jennifer retrieve his medical license and handed it over to Director Victor.
Director Victor carefully examined the license, and his expression subtly changed as he realized it was genuine. He returned the license to Jennifer and sternly said, “Show me your business license!”
Dr. Davy handed over the business license to Director Victor.
Seeing the unmistakable business license, Director Victor’s expression grew even worse, as it contradicted what he had learned from the informant.
Director Victor was skeptical and glared again, “Do you have a license for pharmaceutical operations?”
Jennifer quickly retrieved the pharmaceutical operations license and handed it over.
As Director Victor’s face turned darker and darker, Leo felt grateful for Renee. If she hadn’t helped him prepare all the necessary documents to open the clinic, today’s situation could have been quite troublesome.
“All the paperwork for my clinic is in order, Director Victor. It seems like there’s been a misunderstanding. If there’s nothing else, I suggest you leave. The clinic still needs renovation,” Leo stated, dismissing them.
“A misunderstanding?” Director Victor laughed, motioning to his subordinate behind him.
The subordinate approached, holding a bag of Chinese herbs.
Pointing to the bag, Director Victor said, “Take a close look at this. These herbs belong to your clinic, right?”
Dr. Davy accepted the bag of herbs from the subordinate, examined it closely, and replied, “Indeed, these are the packaging materials we use for our clinic’s herbs.”
“In that case, you’re in trouble. Lyndon, you can arrest them now,” Director Victor said to Lyndon Adelaide from the Health Law Enforcement Supervision Bureau.
Lyndon Adelaide raised his voice, “Take the owner of the clinic into custody!”
Dr. Davy grew agitated, “Director Victor, what’s the meaning of this?”
“Meaning?” Director Victor roared angrily. “The report against your clinic came from a patient’s family. That patient took in herbs from your clinic, fell into a coma, and is now lying unconscious in a hospital bed. So, what’s the meaning of this?”
Dr. Davy was astonished. He had been practicing medicine for decades and had never encountered such a situation before.
Leo, however, chuckled. This attempt to frame him was truly despicable.
“Director Victor, based solely on the packaging of a bag of herbs, are you concluding that a patient’s condition resulted from herbs from our clinic?” Leo calmly asked.
Director Victor’s expression was displeased at Leo’s demeanor. He shot Leo a glance and retorted, “What kind of talk is that? It’s not me who’s concluding. Until the situation is thoroughly investigated, you’re a prime suspect. Once you’re at my office, I’m sure you’ll explain everything. Take him away!”
A member of the health enforcement team took out handcuffs and walked up to Leo.
Leo smiled, “No need for handcuffs. I’ll go with you for the investigation.”
“Leo!”
Jennifer and Dr. Davy were visibly worried.
Leo turned and reassured them, “Don’t worry. I believe the Health Bureau won’t wrong an innocent person. I’ll be fine.”
With a clear conscience, Leo didn’t fear any accusations. He was curious to see who was using the Health Bureau to orchestrate this scheme against him.
As he walked towards the exit, Leo’s phone in his pocket began to ring.
