Chapter 190: Things Fall into Place

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Don’t hit me anymore, please, I’ll tell you, okay!” Blood trickled from the corners of Philip’s mouth as he begged in a raspy and weak voice.
Scar raised his hand, signaling to stop.
“Philip, if you had confessed earlier, you wouldn’t have suffered like this,” Scar sneered.
Leo approached Philip and crouched down, asking again, “Tell me, how did you team up with Bruno? What were you trying to achieve with this, and did you have a hand in disrupting the import channel of Sophia’s cosmetics company?”
Philip lifted his head, Leo’s calm face and deep gaze filled him with a deep sense of dread. Suddenly, he felt that this rumored useless son-in-law was nothing short of a devil incarnate.
With his life hanging in the balance, Philip had no choice but to reveal everything to Leo.
After hearing Philip’s confession, Leo’s fists clenched involuntarily. He felt an urge to kill, and the name “Bruno” kept echoing in his mind.
Bruno was utterly heartless. Sophia was his cousin, and he had actually intended to use Philip to defile her and then use this to drive her out of the Henley family!
In essence, Bruno had touched Leo’s last nerve. This was unforgivable.
Leo’s chilling gaze rested on Philip on the ground, making the latter’s heart race with fear.
If Philip didn’t still have some utility, Leo would have wanted to kill him on the spot.
Suppressing his anger, Leo turned and gestured to Scar, who understood and followed Leo outside.
Philip, seeing this, hastily called out, “Hey, Leo, I’ve told you everything, what else do you want?”
Leo ignored him and went outside. He told Scar, “Scar, you did well today. Don’t worry about the Flying Dragon Business Association; I’ll make use of the Azure Cloud Group’s power to deal with them.”
Hearing the words “Azure Cloud Group,” Scar was taken aback. Azure Cloud Group and the Flying Dragon Business Association were the two giants in Langstel, but also arch-enemies. No wonder Leo didn’t fear Philip’s backers.
“Mr. Bloomer, how should we handle Philip?” Scar asked.
Leo thought for a moment and said, “First, find a place to lock him up. I still have a use for him.”
In the parking lot outside, Sophia paced nervously. She only relaxed when she saw Leo coming out. She hurriedly opened the car door and ran over to Leo.
Reaching Leo, Sophia looked him over carefully and asked with concern, “Are you okay? You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
Leo shook his head with a smile. “The guys who rushed in just now were my protectors. How could I get hurt? Sophia, are you worried about me?”
Seeing Leo’s playful expression, Sophia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. This guy, she was so worried about him, and he acted like everything was fine.
Leo took Sophia’s hand. “Let’s go, back home.”
“How did things get resolved? And those people, what’s your connection with them?” Sophia wanted to clarify before she could truly relax.
Leo had no choice but to explain, “Philip was behind the interruption of your company’s import channels. It’s not a big problem; after tomorrow’s family meeting, I’ll help you restore the channels. As for the scar-faced guy, I treated his illness before, and he owes me a favor. That’s why he came to help me today.”
After listening to Leo’s explanation, Sophia didn’t press further. She opened the car door and got in.
On the way back, Leo had made up his mind. He would expose Bruno at the family meeting tomorrow. If Teresa still showed bias and didn’t take action, Leo wouldn’t mind taking matters into his own hands.
At Bruno’s house, he was getting restless. He walked back and forth in the living room, deep in thought.
To be honest, he had recently noticed some changes in Leo. That useless son-in-law of this family seemed different somehow.
But Bruno couldn’t pinpoint the exact differences. Regardless, it was a feeling that made him uncomfortable.
Since Leo would accompany Sophia, Bruno’s heart was on edge.
Though he knew that with Philip’s background and strength, dealing with a supposed waste like Leo was a piece of cake, there was always an element of uncertainty.
What if Sophia and Leo were unusually lucky? What if his brilliant plan failed?
Bruno held the phone in his hand, hesitating whether to call Philip to ask about the situation.
But the thought that Philip might be in the middle of something with Sophia made him hesitant to press the call button.
Around ten o’clock, Bruno couldn’t take it anymore. He pressed the call button.
Bruno put the call on speaker, and all he heard was a continuous “beep” until the call ended on its own, unanswered.
Nobody answered the call. Bruno, however, found himself chuckling. This meant that Philip and Sophia were engaged in some unspeakable activity in their room.
The two had agreed that if things went as planned, Philip wouldn’t call tonight. If things didn’t go well, then Philip would call.
Finally, Bruno breathed a sigh of relief. He stretched and sat down on the couch, his mind already envisioning what would happen at the family meeting tomorrow.
Suddenly, his phone, placed on the coffee table, started ringing.
Could it be Philip calling?
Bruno felt a surge of nervousness as he grabbed the phone. Fortunately, it was Fanny calling.
“Bruno, how’s it going?” The moment the call connected, Fanny’s urgent voice came through.
Bruno replied, “Philip hasn’t called yet. It means things are settled.”
Hearing this, Fanny on the other end burst into laughter. “Bruno, this time Sophia is done for. When Philip sends the photos tomorrow, we’ll have a great show at the family meeting.”
“Fanny, you’ll continue to be the General Manager of Breeze Cosmetics, and as for Sophia’s company, I’m thinking of changing its name. Together, we’ll elevate the Henley family to an elite status,” Bruno spun a grand narrative for Fanny.
Hanging up the phone, Bruno muttered to himself with a grin, “Sophia, you’ll never even dream of the fact that the exclusive agency rights for Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company and control of your company will ultimately fall into my hands.”
Excited by his thoughts, Bruno had trouble sleeping that night. However, his lack of sleep didn’t affect his energy. The next morning, he got up early, freshened up, and headed to the Henley family estate in Huntstone.
