Leo couldn’t be bothered to look at the two of them any longer. He coldly threw out a sentence, “Quickly get out of my sight. If you dare appear in front of me again next time, I’ll make sure you spend your lives in bed!”
Hearing this, the two of them felt as if they had been granted a pardon. They struggled to stand up from the ground and fled the scene with their tails between their legs.
The onlookers at the scene spontaneously cheered for Leo. Some of them had been victims of scams before, so they naturally detested these scammers. Today’s scene was truly satisfying!
Leo signaled Jennifer and Sarah to get into the car, and the crowd gradually dispersed.
He started the car and continued on to the nameless traditional Chinese medicine clinic.
“Leo, you’re the most handsome man I’ve ever seen!” Jennifer, sitting in the back seat, blurted out unexpectedly.
It was simply that Leo’s tactics in dealing with the scammers just now were too impressive and satisfying. It’s no wonder he managed to captivate Jennifer, who had just entered society.
Leo merely smiled, not saying anything.
Before long, the Mercedes parked by the side of the road outside the clinic.
The three of them got out of the car, and Leo pointed to the clinic, saying, “This is our destination.”
Sarah looked at the clinic that was under renovation and asked, “Leo, is this your clinic?”
“Yes, from now on, this will be your workplace,” Leo nodded.
Work here?
Jennifer and Sarah exchanged glances, confused. Weren’t they supposed to work at the Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company?
Seeing their puzzled expressions, Leo explained, “Working here aligns better with your expertise. Don’t worry, your salary and benefits won’t change. Besides, there’s also accommodation here. Let me show you around.”
Curious, the two of them followed Leo inside.
As the interior was also under renovation, they didn’t linger in the lobby for long and went straight to the backyard.
Upon entering the backyard, Jennifer and Sarah became a bit excited. The environment was pleasant, with mountains, water, flowers, grass, and a leisure pavilion.
Entering the small building in the backyard, Leo introduced the two to Dr. Davy and his daughter.
After understanding the specifics here, Leo asked Jennifer and Sarah if they were willing to stay. Both of them nodded.
Since there were spare rooms in the small building, Leo arranged for them to stay here. Once the clinic was renovated, they could start working.
Finally, he told them that they would still receive their salaries before officially starting work.
Once everything was settled, Leo hadn’t even left the clinic yet when four or five people walked in, all wearing triumphant expressions.
Leading them was a woman dressed to the nines. The color of the lipstick on her lips was as deep as fresh blood, and she glanced at the clinic before proclaiming loudly, “Who’s in charge of this clinic?”
“It’s me,” Leo looked at the woman and said calmly, “What do you want?”
The woman’s gaze landed on Leo. In her mind, those who ran traditional Chinese medicine clinics were usually greasy old men. Young men like Leo were truly a rarity.
The woman walked up to Leo and took out a business card from her bag, handing it over. “I’m Shirley Habakkuk, the sales manager of Horse Pharmaceutical. I came here today to tell you that we want to secure the contract for all the medicinal herbs your clinic needs.”
Seeing Leo’s expression turn cold, Shirley added, “Rest assured, we have all the herbs your traditional Chinese medicine clinic needs. We won’t ask for more than the market price from you. How does that sound?”
After saying this, she took out a price list for the Chinese herbs from her bag and handed it to Leo.
Leo didn’t accept it. He said icily, “Is this what you call forcing someone to buy something?”
“More or less,” Shirley smirked, “Our Horse Pharmaceutical has monopolized the pharmaceutical stores in this area. If you don’t buy from us, let me make it clear to you – your clinic won’t be able to buy any Chinese herbs.”
“Oh, really?” Leo hadn’t encountered such an audacious sales pitch before. “I have no interest in your herbs whatsoever. Now, please leave.”
Seeing that Leo wasn’t cooperating, Shirley slapped the price list onto a nearby counter. “Kid, let me tell you the truth. If you don’t buy our herbs, your clinic won’t even get to open.”
A man behind her immediately threatened, “Shirley, let’s trash this crappy clinic right now!”
Shirley raised her hand, signaling the man to be quiet. Then, she took out a prepared contract from her bag. “This is the purchase contract. Sign it and pay a deposit of three hundred thousand. We can have a pleasant collaboration.”
Leo took the contract from her hand.
Shirley’s lips curled into a cold smile. She thought to herself, “I thought this would be a tough nut to crack, but he immediately turned submissive when confronted by my people.”
Leo didn’t open the contract to read it. Instead, he held one corner of the contract in each hand.
Then, right in front of Shirley, he tore the contract in half.
Shirley’s eyes widened. This was the first time she had seen someone tear up a contract in front of her.
“Now disappear from my sight immediately, or I’ll break your legs!” Leo’s voice turned cold as he said, his eyes flashing with a cold light.
To think they dared to pick a fight with him. If the clinic weren’t under renovation, Leo would’ve already made these guys beg for mercy.
Shirley was both furious and amused. “Kid, you’ve got guts. You won’t take a drink, but you’ll take a beating, huh? Harold, call someone to come and trash this clinic!”
After saying that, she folded her arms and stared at Leo with a cold smile. She had a final trick up her sleeve for dealing with this unyielding guy.
The man called Harold immediately took out his phone and made a call.
After the call, he walked to Shirley and threatened Leo, “Kid, I advise you to apologize to Miss Shirley and admit your mistake. Otherwise, this clinic of yours won’t need renovation. It won’t be able to open anyway.”
Leo looked unimpressed. “Bring all your people here. I’ll settle it all at once.”
Hearing this, Harold suspected he had gone mad. This guy had become unreasonably arrogant.
Ten minutes later, a minivan appeared outside the clinic.
The door opened, and many people got out. The leader of the group had a face full of muscles, and a long scar ran down his face.
Even before entering, his voice reached them, “Miss Shirley, who’s the one disrespecting you so much?”
A familiar voice. Leo turned his gaze toward the entrance.
Pointing at Leo, Harold said, “Scar, it’s this kid! We’ll trash his clinic. Let’s see if he still dares to act tough!”
Scar looked forward. When he saw Leo’s face clearly, he suddenly stopped in his tracks. His face, which had been filled with hostility, immediately brightened up.
“Mr. Bloomer, what are you doing here?” Scar approached, a smile on his face, and handed Leo
a cigarette.
This left Shirley and the others confused. Scar, a well-known figure in the underworld, was actually calling that kid “Mr. Bloomer”!
What was going on!?
