Chapter 164: It’s You

Soon, a girl walked up to the booth holding her resume and handed it over, saying, “Hello, I’m here for the job application.”
Leo took the resume and started reading it right there.
The girl’s name was Jennifer Lytton. She graduated from North University of Finance and Economics with a major in financial management and holds an accountant qualification certificate.
After putting down the resume, Leo glanced at the somewhat youthful and attractive girl and said, “You’re Jennifer, right? You’re hired.”
This statement left Jennifer stunned. “Hello, shouldn’t you be interviewing me?”
Leo chuckled, “The interview has already been done. Just wait on the side for a moment; I have other things to arrange.”
Jennifer stood there somewhat bewildered. This was the first time she’d experienced such an odd recruitment process.
Seeing the first applicant getting hired so quickly, those who were hesitating earlier couldn’t hold back any longer and began handing in their resumes.
Under the enthusiastic onslaught of the crowd, Leo and Alvin quickly found themselves overwhelmed, enlisting Jennifer’s help to manage the influx of resumes.
In just a matter of minutes, a thick stack of resumes had piled up on the table in front of Leo.
Leo explained his recruitment criteria to Jennifer and instructed her and Alvin to sift through the resumes.
Half an hour later, Jennifer and Alvin handed the sorted resumes to Leo.
Leo took the resumes and quickly flipped through them.
He went through them so fast, about two or three seconds per resume, making people wonder if he was just going through the motions and not really paying attention.
Soon, Leo selected nine resumes from the stack and handed them to Jennifer, saying, “Read out the names and have these people raise their hands to confirm.”
Jennifer took the resumes, feeling a bit confused. Was this HR just playing around?
She quickly glanced at the resumes in her hand and understood the situation. Out of the nine, six were female applicants.
Jennifer started calling out names, and the surrounding applicants quieted down. When their names were called, they raised their hands to signify their presence and then stepped forward.
Four or five minutes later, nine individuals were standing in a row in front of Leo and Alvin.
Leo turned to Alvin, “Mr. Simpson, what do you think?”
Alvin smiled, “Mr. Bloomer, the people you’ve chosen are all great.”
Alvin was well aware of his own position. Despite holding the title of factory manager now, in straightforward terms, he was still an employee, so he didn’t dare to voice any objections.
Leo got up from his seat and swept his gaze over each person’s face in turn. Then he announced loudly, “Congratulations, all of you have been accepted!”
Accepted just like that?
The group exchanged glances, finding the situation rather amusing.
Was this recruitment process too casual? No, it was more like they were just going with the flow!
“Is it time to sign the contract now?” a guy couldn’t help but ask.
Leo shook his head, “There’s no rush for signing the contract. We’ll talk about that tomorrow. For now, let’s all go have a meal together. If you have any questions, we can discuss them at the dinner table.”
Leo gestured broadly.
The group couldn’t help but cheer. They felt that this HR was incredibly easygoing and personable.
The group arrived at the parking lot, and Leo instructed, “Two of you will ride with Mr. Simpson and me, while the others can take taxis. The expenses will be reimbursed. Our destination is Piccolo.” Piccolo was the same restaurant where he bought the turtle and created a scene last time.
“Piccolo?” a guy exclaimed.
Leo nodded.
The others also showed excitement. They had heard of Piccolo before; it was a high-end five-star restaurant in Langstel, not a place just anyone could afford to dine at.
Jennifer and a girl named Tracy Dewar got into a Mercedes, while the rest took taxis.
When they arrived at the destination, the group began discussing in hushed voices.
“So this is Piccolo? It’s my first time here; it’s really beautiful.”
“I heard that even an average meal here costs about the same as an iPhone 11.”
“Let’s go inside.” Leo led the way.
Due to their large group, two beautifully dressed ladies in uniform immediately came over to attend to them.
“Sir, how many people are there in your party?” One of the ladies, recognizing Leo as the leader, politely asked.
“Twelve,” Leo replied. “We’ll need a private room.”
As they conversed, Jennifer, Tracy Dewar, Boris Wilcox, and the others observed and wondered. It was their first time entering a five-star luxury restaurant.
The waitress apologized, “I’m sorry, sir, the private rooms are all reserved. There are still medium-sized and small rooms available on the second floor, if you’d like…”
“Get your manager,” Leo said unexpectedly.
The waitress was a bit taken aback. She hadn’t said anything wrong, so why was he suddenly asking for the manager?
Leo was well aware that restaurants like Piccolo often reserved rooms, even for unexpected visits by important figures, to prevent the embarrassment of not having a table available.
Just as the waitress was unsure how to proceed, the restaurant manager appeared.
“Mr. Bloomer, welcome. I apologize for any inconvenience. The Snow Lotus Hall on the third floor is prepared for Mr. Bloomer at all times,” Manager Becky hurriedly made her way over.
Then he turned to the waitress and instructed, “Remember, from now on, when Mr. Bloomer dines here, seat him directly in the Ink Lotus Hall or Snow Lotus Hall on the third floor.”
“Of course, Manager,” the two waitresses quickly responded.
Since they were new, they were unaware of the incident that happened at Piccolo last time.
“Mr. Bloomer, I was in the wrong last time. I hope you can forgive me for that,” Manager Becky said with a servile smile.
This left Alvin, Jennifer, and the others dumbfounded.
The manager of a five-star restaurant was actually lowering himself to this extent. It was clear from this gesture that Leo’s identity was not simple.
Leo naturally didn’t hold it against him and waved his hand, “Lead us to the private room.”
“Of course, this way please.” Manager Becky bent slightly in a gentlemanly manner.
This scene left these young college students in awe. The three male students looked at Leo with admiration and envy, while the seven female students had starry-eyed expressions.
In a luxurious private room called the Snow Lotus Hall, twelve people sat around an extra-large high-end dining table.
The table was already set with utensils, and two waitresses were inside the room to provide service.
The waitstaff started distributing menus to each person, and another staff member used a specialized device to take orders.
Jennifer and the others excitedly and curiously perused the menu.
“Order whatever you want; today, I’m treating,” Leo generously declared.
“Hooray!” several girls exclaimed excitedly.
Leo knew very well that these twelve college students came from modest backgrounds. If they had money or connections, they wouldn’t have gone to a job fair to seek employment.
