“How about the R&D personnel?”
“We have the researchers now. It’s a former experienced senior engineer from the factory. I rehired him. He has a complete R&D team under him.”
“As for the positions that are still vacant, you can handle the recruitment yourself,” Leo instructed.
Alvin’s face displayed a puzzled expression. “Mr. Bloomer, you’re the legal representative of Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company now. I can’t access the talent market directly, so…”
“Get ready, we’re going to the talent market for recruitment right now!” Leo decided to take matters into his own hands.
“Alright.”
Alvin agreed, thinking to himself, this hidden boss is really decisive and doesn’t seem like a useless son-in-law at all.
After a brief preparation, Leo drove with Alvin to the city’s talent market.
The talent market had relocated to the economic development zone, with all facilities newly built. It occupied a large area and could easily accommodate over a thousand companies simultaneously recruiting.
As it was the peak time for recent college graduates to find jobs, the talent market was bustling with people today.
After parking the car, the two walked to the entrance of the talent market.
There were three entrances in total, with long queues formed at two of them, while the third entrance had fewer people.
Leo led Alvin to the less crowded entrance.
Just as they were about to enter, a middle-aged woman stopped them. “Excuse me, if you’re here for a job application, please queue up at Entrance 1 or Entrance 2.”
Leo pointed at the people who had just entered. “How come they’re allowed to enter?”
“This is the entrance for companies only. Only company representatives who are here for recruitment can enter. Haven’t you noticed they’re wearing badges around their necks?” The middle-aged woman said impatiently.
Leo replied, “I’m here for recruitment.”
“Where’s your job badge?” The middle-aged woman glanced at him.
“I don’t have a job badge.”
“Give it up. If you want to recruit at this talent market, you need to register and apply for recruitment qualifications in advance, then get a recruitment booth. You have nothing, yet you dare to come and pretend. I’ve seen plenty like you!” The middle-aged woman’s expression turned disdainful, her disbelief evident.
It wasn’t surprising, Leo looked too young, easily mistaken for a recent college graduate looking for a job.
At this moment, a guy at Window 2 next to them quipped, “Hey buddy, you better honestly queue up. I’ve already tried what you’re attempting, and it doesn’t work.”
The middle-aged woman waved her hand impatiently. “Don’t think you can impersonate recruitment staff just because you’re accompanied by an older man. Hurry up and line up to the side, don’t block the entrance.”
Leo furrowed his brows involuntarily. He truly hadn’t known that he needed to go through procedures to recruit here.
“Alvin, why didn’t you tell me beforehand? It seems like our trip was in vain today,” Leo complained.
Alvin quickly explained, “Mr. Bloomer, you’re blaming me unfairly. I’ve never been to a talent market for recruitment before. In the past, we used to post job listings online and follow the recruitment process within the company.”
“You should have said so earlier. Let’s go, we’ll post the job listing online when we get back.”
Alvin couldn’t help but think, It was you who was so eager to come and recruit in the first place.
Just as the two were about to leave, a middle-aged man hurriedly walked towards Leo.
“Mr. Bloomer, never thought I’d see you here,” the middle-aged man said with a smile.
Leo was momentarily puzzled by his words but then remembered who this guy was. He had met him when he treated Renee’s grandfather’s old comrade. He was the city’s mayor, Noel Fox.
“Mr. Fox, hello,” Leo responded with a smile.
Another middle-aged man, slightly chubby with thinning hair, hurried over curiously. “Mr. Fox, do you know each other?”
“Director Wat, this is Mr. Bloomer. He’s a marvelous doctor,” Noel Fox introduced.
“Oh really?” Yale Wat was momentarily taken aback, but he still shook hands with Leo.
Alvin, standing on the side, was filled with astonishment. On one hand, because Leo actually knew Noel Fox, and on the other hand, because Noel Fox referred to him as a marvelous doctor.
Alvin couldn’t help but sneak a glance at his enigmatic hidden boss, feeling that this rumored useless son-in-law was becoming increasingly mysterious.
“Mr. Bloomer, why are you here at the talent market?” Noel Fox asked with curiosity.
“I’m here for recruitment today,” Leo replied.
“Since you’re here for recruitment, why haven’t you gone in yet?”
Leo smiled helplessly. “The staff wouldn’t let me in.”
Noel Fox looked at Yale Wat, who became uneasy and quickly glanced at the middle-aged woman at the entrance.
“Director Wat,” the middle-aged woman grew nervous. How could she have known that this young man actually knew Noel Fox?
“How are you handling things!?” Yale Wat scolded.
“Director Wat, there’s no need for this. The staff are just following the rules.” Noel Fox stopped Yale Wat. “Mr. Bloomer, how about you come in with us?”
“Thank you.”
Leo’s luck was good today; he met Noel Fox visiting the talent market for inspection.
Because of Noel Fox’s influence, when they entered the talent market, Yale Wat arranged the best booth for Leo in the venue.
Additionally, Noel Fox and Yale Wat both had work to attend to, so after chatting with Leo for a while, they left.
The venue’s hall was currently packed with people, men and women holding their carefully prepared resumes, browsing through the booths to find companies and positions they liked.
Leo instructed Alvin to get some paper and a pen from the staff, and he quickly wrote a simple recruitment notice, then stuck it on the wall behind the booth.
Compared to the flashy recruitment posters of other companies, Leo’s recruitment notice looked exceedingly plain.
But even so, a large crowd of job seekers quickly gathered around.
They were all attracted by the terms he had written on the paper.
“Monthly salary not less than ten thousand, providing accommodation after successful signing. Do you think it’s true?”
“These two don’t look very official, do they? They don’t even have badges, and their recruitment poster is so plain. Could it be a shady company?”
“Can anyone read what company that paper says?”
“I know this factory, Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company. It was recently fully acquired by Azure Financial!”
“Is that for real? If they’ve been acquired by Azure Financial, how come their recruitment notice is so simple?”
“I think it should be real. Only companies that pass the verification process by the labor bureau can participate in this talent market.”
The onlookers buzzed with discussions. Many of them had excited expressions on their faces.
Leo maintained a faint smile on his face, waiting for the job seekers to hand in their resumes.
