Renee’s face turned grim. “Who are you cursing?”
“You! What-”
*Smack!*
Fanny’s words were cut off as a handprint appeared on her cheek. Renee had swiftly retaliated with a slap.
The daughter of Azure Cloud Group’s chairman was indeed fierce and assertive.
“You, dare to hit me?” Fanny stared at Renee in disbelief, then, as if possessed, she lunged at Renee with intentions to claw and bite. However, Leo intervened and gave her a slight shove, causing her to end up sitting on the ground.
“Leo, you… you’re teaming up with her to bully me?” Fanny exclaimed in astonishment, her face reddening. She then seemed to lose control, shouting in fury, “Leo, you good-for-nothing, how dare you treat me like this? When I get back, I’ll tell Grandma, and you’ll pay dearly!”
Philip reached out and helped Fanny up from the ground, offering words of comfort until her tears subsided. She continued to glare at Leo and Renee with a gaze filled with resentment.
Approaching Leo, Philip fixed him with a stern gaze. “How could you resort to violence?”
“Did I hit her?” Leo’s presence seemed to emanate an overwhelming aura.
Philip stiffened and lowered his voice. “Am I blind?”
“Seems like your eyes might need some help.”
“You…”
“Enough! Stop quarreling!” Dr. Davy finally intervened, unable to tolerate the situation any longer.
“Leo’s medical skills is undeniable. If you are the one to treat Grace’s legs, I trust you,” Dr. Davy voiced his support for Leo without hesitation.
Fanny’s heart filled with determination as she immediately stepped in front of Grace. “Leo, I might not know your true intentions, but if you mean harm to Grace, you’ll have to trample over my dead body!”
“Fanny, don’t say things like that,” Grace interjected, puzzled by Fanny’s behavior today and growing anxious.
“Grace, you don’t understand him. He’s truly a good-for-nothing. If you let him treat your legs, it’ll spell trouble,” Fanny declared, her gaze fixed on Leo. “Leo, if you have any skills, show us your medical license and prove your expertise!”
Renee sneered, retrieving a document from her bag and handing it to Fanny. She opened it, revealing Leo’s medical license. “Here’s Leo’s medical license.”
Staring at the embossed seal and Leo’s photo on the license, Fanny’s eyes widened, and she immediately exclaimed, “It’s fake! It must be fake! A document like this can easily be obtained by paying off someone!”
Dr. Davy, aware that time was precious and eager to move forward, was about to ask Fanny to leave. However, Philip intervened, “Mr. Davy, the reason I’m here today is that I’ve developed a method to treat your daughter’s leg condition. I believe that within the whole nation, only I can heal her legs.”
The tense atmosphere shifted as Philip’s statement hung in the air.
Such an unconvincing boast, Dr. Davy wasn’t quick to believe. “What method do you have?”
“I’ve mastered the Six Extreme Mystical Needles,” Philip’s expression grew proud.
Hearing the name, Leo nearly burst into laughter. It was quite the knockoff, indeed.
However, Dr. Davy’s face changed drastically. “You’ve truly learned the Six Extreme Mystical Needles?”
Philip nodded solemnly, his confidence shining through. “Yes, my master has recently consulted with a highly skilled individual multiple times and gained insights. He passed this knowledge on to me. Combining these insights with my master’s teachings, I had a revelation while studying the ancient texts on the Six Extreme Mystical Needles. Mr. Davy, as you know, the ancient texts describe the Six Extreme Mystical Needles as a miraculous technique capable of bringing the dead back to life and reviving withered trees. Treating your daughter’s leg ailment should be a piece of cake.”
Hearing these words, Dr. Davy nodded. “If you’ve truly mastered the Six Extreme Mystical Needles, then it’s indeed possible to cure Grace’s leg condition.”
Looking at Leo, he sighed inwardly. He had promised Leo earlier, and reneging on that promise wouldn’t be proper.
Leo, curious about Philip’s claimed Six Extreme Mystical Needles, welcomed the chance to observe. As Dr. Davy turned his attention toward him, Leo displayed a magnanimous demeanor. “Dr. Davy, if he’s so confident, let him proceed. Don’t mind my feelings. If your daughter can stand up again, that’s what matters.”
Dr. Davy inwardly sighed at Leo’s generosity. “With such a broad-minded and tolerant attitude, Leo, you’ll surely accomplish great things in the future.”
Grace found herself stealing more glances at Leo. He emitted an inexplicable aura, leaving her with a distinct impression of his uniqueness.
“Leo, seems like you’re hiding your ignorance. Quite the master of disguise,” Fanny sneered.
After mocking Leo, Fanny exchanged a significant look with Philip.
Philip immediately understood and cleared his throat, addressing Dr. Davy. “Mr. Davy, I’ve heard that whoever manages to cure your daughter’s leg ailment will receive ownership of your clinic, is that correct?”
Eager for gains, the fox’s tail was exposed. Dr. Davy’s expression remained composed as he responded, “Indeed, I did say that. If you can heal Grace’s legs, I’ll give you this clinic.”
“Mr. Davy is truly a straightforward man,” Philip enthused. “Since we can’t perform acupuncture here conveniently, shall we head to a room?”
Dr. Davy pushed the wheelchair as everyone followed.
Upon reaching the small building, Dr. Davy lifted Grace from her wheelchair and took her upstairs into a bedroom.
In the second-floor room, Grace lay on the bed with hopeful anticipation.
Nervousness gripped her heart. If Philip could genuinely cure her, she could stand again and run like everyone else, visiting her homeland’s magnificent landscapes.
“Miss Davy, I need you to fully expose your lower legs,” Philip instructed.
Grace obeyed, pulling up her skirt to reveal her thin, almost skeletal lower legs.
Philip took a silver needle from his portable medical kit, disinfecting it with alcohol. He held a needle in his hand and said, “I’m about to perform the Blood Revival Six Needles technique, which aims to restore proper blood flow in your legs.”
This was deliberately announced for everyone to hear.
With a playful expression, Leo watched as Philip inserted the first needle.
“The pressure is too strong,” Leo murmured under his breath.
Philip shot Leo a sidelong glance, annoyance on his face. This wasn’t the time to talk, so he proceeded with the second needle.
The second needle went into another acupuncture point on Grace’s leg.
“This time, the pressure is too light,” Leo muttered to himself.
If Dr. Davy hadn’t been there, Philip would have been tempted to curse. Suppressing his irritation, Philip continued and inserted the third needle.
“Ah, the acupoint is slightly off,” Leo sighed with a hint of exasperation.
Unable to endure any longer, Philip stood up and glared at Leo. “Do you know anything about acupuncture? This is my master’s signature technique! While I’m performing acupuncture, can you please just keep quiet?”
Fanny quickly chimed in, “Leo, you’re disturbing Philip’s treatment. Is this deliberate?”
Leo, somewhat embarrassed, chuckled. “I noticed a mistake, and I just blurted it out. I apologize, it was impolite. Please, continue, Philip. I won’t say a word.”
