Chapter 133: Surprisingly Easy

As the Mercedes entered the factory area, the security guard muttered to himself, “Damn, the woman in the car is so darn beautiful.”
After parking in the lot, Sophia gathered her thoughts and followed the guard’s directions to the office building.
Everywhere she walked, renovations and upgrades were underway. It was easy to imagine that soon this once-struggling company would be completely rejuvenated.
Not only that, with the investment from Azure Financial and a full-scale upgrade of software and hardware, this company’s strength wouldn’t be underestimated. It might even become the most substantial cosmetics production company in the province.
Soon, Sophia found the office building.
As she approached the building, she noticed a woman-Alvin’s secretary, Kevin.
“Are you Miss Henley?” Kevin asked.
“Yes, I am. And who are you?” Sophia replied.
“I’m Mr. Simpson’s secretary. Please follow me.” Kevin gestured to her, inwardly smirking, *You coming today is all for nothing*.
Following Kevin, they reached the third floor and stood outside the office of the company’s director.
Kevin knocked on the door, “Mr. Simpson, Miss Henley from Sophia Cosmetics Company is here.”
To Kevin’s surprise, Alvin quickly stood up from his chair and greeted her with a smile, “Miss Henley, welcome. Please come in.”
Sophia entered the office, and Alvin instructed, “Kevin, bring us some tea.”
Kevin frowned slightly. Why was Alvin being so friendly? After all, he had shown him all the negative information about Sophia’s company that Bruno had given him. Alvin should not be this accommodating.
“Why are you standing there?” Alvin glared at Kevin.
Kevin snapped out of it and hurried to prepare the tea.
“Miss Henley, hello. I’m Alvin Simpson, the factory manager of Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company. I wasn’t expecting you today, so I apologize for not welcoming you properly.” Alvin took a seat on the sofa next to Sophia, separated by a coffee table.
Alvin’s warmth was far beyond Sophia’s expectations. From what she had assumed, after Bruno’s negotiation fell through yesterday, Alvin should have been difficult to deal with. Why was he being so polite to her?
“Mr. Simpson, you’re too kind,” Sophia responded.
Kevin returned with the tea, and Alvin instructed, “You may leave now.”
Kevin glanced at Sophia and then left the room, feeling a bit uneasy.
How could Alvin be so friendly, especially after he had given him all the information about Sophia’s company that painted her in a negative light? It was strange.
Was it because Sophia was so attractive?
But what if Alvin was actually attracted by her? If that was the case, agreeing to Bruno’s task might end up going awry!
Taking a sip of tea, Sophia said, “Mr. Simpson, I apologize for coming without an appointment.”
“Miss Henley, that’s not necessary. I’m pleased to have a visit from you,” Alvin said. Though he said this, he wondered about Leo’s relationship with this beautiful woman.
“Mr. Bloomer, I heard that you’re currently seeking distributors for your cosmetics. I’m here today to discuss the possibility of becoming one,” Sophia said, relieved by Alvin’s warmth and politeness.
“Miss Henley, we’d be more than happy to grant exclusive distribution rights for Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company to Sophia Cosmetics Company,” Alvin said.
This statement nearly caused Sophia to choke on her tea.
“What!?” Sophia thought she must have misheard. She had barely spoken a few sentences, yet she was already being offered distribution rights?
Alvin stood up and walked to his desk to retrieve a pre-drafted contract, handing it to Sophia. “Miss Henley, this is the distribution contract. Take a look, and if you find no issues, please sign.”
Looking at the contract before her, Sophia felt like she was in a dream.
What was happening?
It was as though Alvin had been prepared to sign this contract with her from the start.
When Sophia took the contract, Alvin smiled and said, “Miss Henley, your company, Sophia Cosmetics, has an excellent reputation throughout Langstel. I recall your company being nominated for the city’s Advanced Enterprise Award last year, right?”
Sophia nodded, surprised that Alvin had already researched her company.
“Making Sophia Cosmetics our exclusive distributor at Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company gives me complete assurance. I hope we can enjoy a pleasant partnership in the future.”
What seemed like an incredibly difficult task to Sophia had been achieved so effortlessly. It felt like a dream.
She wondered how Bruno had managed to botch things up.
Suddenly, Sophia thought of Leo. She recalled how he had pushed her to accept Bruno’s wager during the family meeting.
Could it be because of Leo?
Could Leo and Alvin know each other?
But that wasn’t possible. Sophia had been with Leo for four years and never knew him to associate with a director like Alvin.
“Mr. Simpson, may I ask you a personal question?” Sophia inquired, unable to hold back her curiosity.
“Of course, Miss Henley.”
“Do you know Leo Bloomer?”
Alvin’s expression shifted slightly, and he replied, “No, I don’t.”
Sophia’s doubts about Leo’s involvement were thus dismissed.
She continued reading the distribution contract.
Upon understanding the terms of the contract, Sophia was once again astonished. The contract heavily favored Sophia Cosmetics Company, featuring numerous favorable conditions.
For instance, any cosmetics Sophia Cosmetics distributed from Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company would be provided at cost, with no need for a deposit.
Furthermore, Sophia Cosmetics could return any unsold Herbal Magic Cosmetics products indefinitely, and Herbal Magic Cosmetics would buy them back at the distributor’s price.
Sophia had heard of “ironclad” terms before, but today she was encountering the concept of “angelic” terms for the first time.
Sophia had no questions or reservations about the contract, so she signed her name.
After the contract was signed, Alvin personally escorted Sophia out of the office building.
As Alvin returned to the third floor, he saw Kevin standing outside his office.
“Mr. Simpson, did you sign the contract with her?” Kevin couldn’t help asking.
Alvin stared at him coldly. “Get out of my sight immediately. Starting tomorrow, you don’t need to come to work anymore!”
“Mr. Simpson, what did I do wrong?” Kevin appeared aggrieved.
Alvin wasn’t buying it. “What you’ve done, you know very well. Move, don’t block my path!”
Once in his office, Alvin fed the information Kevin had given him about Sophia’s company into the shredder.
Then, he turned on his computer and typed in: “Sophia Cosmetics Company.” Soon, various pieces of information about Sophia appeared on the screen, even including gossip.
One headline immediately caught Alvin’s attention: “Sophia Cosmetics CEO to Marry, Groom Unexpectedly Revealed…”
