Seeing Leo nod, Curitis sat down on the chair, half-believing and half-doubting.
“Roll up your pants and let me see your injured area,” Leo instructed.
Curitis rolled up his pants, revealing his right knee.
His knee had a depression about four centimeters below the knee bone, with the skin at that spot showing a dark blue color. The injury was causing his whole lower leg to swell.
After just a glance, Leo came to a conclusion, “Your injury seems to be caused by a heavy object falling from a height.”
Hearing this, Curitis’s eyes showed a touch of surprise.
A week ago, Curitis had been working on a construction site. He got hit by a pipe wrench that fell from a height while he was trying to save a coworker. The foreman gave him a few hundred bucks and let him go. He had been dragging on without getting his leg treated because he didn’t want to use up the money. After leaving the construction site, he had been looking for work everywhere. Due to his limp, no one wanted to hire him for manual labor.
“I’m going to start treatment, and it might hurt. Bear with it,” Leo reminded.
Curitis nodded.
Leo squatted in front of him and activated his spiritual power. He then placed his hand on the injured area.
Curitis felt an intense pain radiate from his knee, spreading throughout his body. His face contorted in pain, but he gritted his teeth and didn’t make a sound.
The pain grew stronger, and Curitis felt as if his knee bone was shifting. The excruciating pain made cold sweat drip from his forehead.
About a minute later, the pain gradually subsided, replaced by a comfortable sensation in his knee.
Leo moved his right hand away, and the depressed area on Curitis’s knee had returned to its normal level, though the dark blue patches remained.
Leo then took a silver needle from his pocket, inserted it into the dark blue patch, and quickly pulled it out.
Black blood flowed from Curitis’s injured area.
“Alright, stand up and walk around now,” Leo said as he stood up.
Curitis now felt a slight tingling sensation in his right knee. With hopeful anticipation, he stood up from the chair and took a few steps.
Indeed, his right leg could now move freely and walk normally.
“Thank you, Mr. Bloomer!” Curitis hurriedly expressed his gratitude with a bow.
Alvin now looked at Leo with even more admiration and curiosity. Such miraculous medical skills were something he had never seen before. Initially, he had thought that Leo was just a well-connected figure sent by Azure Financial, but he hadn’t expected him to have such abilities.
“That’s it then, Mr. Simpson. Take care of the accommodation and food for the newly appointed person-in-charge for security. Also, handle the matters inside the factory,” Leo instructed before leaving.
Alvin respectfully acknowledged, “Mr. Bloomer, you can count on me.”
Not long after Leo left, Langstel’s major media outlets reported on the rebranding of Maple Spring Factory to Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company and its complete acquisition by Azure Financial. The company also advertised the best terms for exclusive distributorship, making Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company a hot topic in Langstel.
Once on the main road, Leo tossed the silver needle bag into a trash bin. After using the needles to deal with the robbers, the needles were no longer complete.
Leo purchased a new set of silver needles from a traditional Chinese medicine shop and then headed to the parking lot.
Checking the time, Leo originally planned to head straight back to the Henley Mansion. However, his phone rang, and it was Nicola calling.
With dinner time approaching, Leo wondered if she was going to ask him to cook another tonic meal for her.
He answered the call, and Nicola’s voice came through, “Leo, are you available?”
Leo was about to say he was busy, but the words got stuck in his throat. He changed his response, “Miss Pater, is there something you need?”
“Don’t tell me I can only contact you when I have a reason?” Nicola retorted.
“Uh…” Leo struggled to reply.
“Enough with the teasing. Coral wants to treat you and me to dinner,” Nicola revealed the purpose of the call.
“Coral? ”
“Your boss.”
“Alright, where should I go?”
“I’ll send you the address through WhatsApp. Just come over.”
After ending the call, Leo received Nicola’s WhatsApp message with the address.
More than half an hour later, Leo arrived at the restaurant. The parking lot was nearly full, and he struggled to find a spot.
It seemed that the restaurant was quite popular.
In a corner of the lobby, he spotted Nicola and Coral.
Nicola saw him and waved him over.
Leo walked over and sat down, curious, “This restaurant is really popular.”
“Definitely. If it weren’t for Coral making a reservation in advance, we wouldn’t even get a seat in the lobby,” Nicola said as she rolled up her sleeves and took the menu. While looking at the menu, she told the waiter the dishes she wanted.
At a nearby table, a few men began whispering to each other.
“Look at that guy, he’s quite something, dining with two gorgeous girls. What a lucky man!”
“Did you see the looks and elegance of those two women? They’re not the kind of women just anyone can meet everyday. That guy probably comes from a wealthy family.”
“Highly possible. I’m so envious.”
Soon, Nicola finished ordering the dishes, and they waited for the waiter to bring the food.
Near them, Gary Stowe and the son of the director of Municipal Construction Bureau, Reg Russell, were already seated.
Gary had been in a good mood lately due to his construction company landing a major project. Once he completed the project, he was set to receive a substantial return.
In gratitude, Gary had invited Reg to dine with him and take this opportunity to foster their relationship.
These days, economic strength wasn’t the only factor that mattered; connections played a crucial role too.
The broad one’s connections, the more chance they had to get a piece of the profit cake.
Originally, Gary had planned to take Reg to a Michelin-starred restaurant, but Reg had wanted to come here for seafood. So, they changed the location last minute. All the private rooms were already booked, so they had to make do with a spot in the shared area.
After ordering the food, Gary filled up Reg’s glass with wine.
“Reg, I’d like to propose a toast to express my gratitude.” Gary raised his glass and drained it.
Reg, however, didn’t pick up his glass. He was staring in a fixed direction.
Gary was curious and followed his gaze, quickly understanding what had caught Reg’s attention.
