At this moment, Sophia was wearing a silky nightgown, the kind that was slightly see-through. Leo’s eyes suddenly went wide, and he couldn’t control the reaction below.
There was no way around it; Leo was at that age, full of youthful vigor, and they had been married for four years without him ever being with a woman.
Sophia noticed Leo’s strange gaze and was about to close the door.
Leo quickly reached out to stop her. “Sophia, let me tell you the truth, don’t even think about having any funny ideas, I won’t do that with you!”
“What do you mean?” Leo pretended not to understand.
“You scoundrel, what are you up to?”
Leo took out a card like magic, handing it to Sophia.
Seeing the card, Sophia’s eyes squinted for a moment. It was a platinum VIP card from a bank! How could Leo have such a card?
“Where did you find this?” Sophia asked.
“Find? This is mine. I’m giving it to you now. There’s eighty million in there, and the password is your birthday,” Leo said, tilting his head 45 degrees to the ceiling. The feeling of giving money to a woman was truly delightful, no wonder the wealthy liked to pamper women.
“Don’t joke with me. I need to rest now,” Sophia yawned.
“I’m not joking. If you don’t believe me, call the bank and check.”
Seeing Leo’s serious expression, Sophia hesitated. “Is there really eighty million in this card?”
“I swear it’s not a lie.”
“Where did you get all this money?” Sophia still couldn’t believe it.
“Didn’t I tell you during dinner? I’m now the chief gemstone consultant at Wilde Jewelry Company, with an annual salary of one million, plus year-end bonuses.”
“An annual salary of one million? Then you’d need eighty years to accumulate eighty million.”
“The money in the card is from my winnings in gemstone gambling. It’s absolutely safe money. Feel free to use it.” Leo handed the bank card to Sophia. “Alright, rest early. Good night.”
Watching Leo’s back, Sophia felt dazed. She couldn’t believe that Leo had solved her most pressing issue lately. Was this really her useless husband?
Sophia suspected that she might be dreaming again. How else could Leo be exactly as she imagined him to be?
Leo, I’ll definitely repay this money to you.
Sophia thought to herself.
That night, Leo spent his time practicing his cultivation even though there was no spiritual energy to absorb in the bedroom. But according to the Nine Heavens Star Chart’s cultivation method, circulating his spiritual power within his body still made him feel refreshed.
The next morning, after sending Sophia to work, Leo planned to visit Wilde Jewelry Company, but he received a call from an unfamiliar number.
He answered, and Nicola’s voice came through. “Leo, are you free now?”
“It depends on the situation,” Leo replied.
“Don’t be so aloof. Come to the GreenMount Sports Center now.”
“What for?”
“To play soccer.”
Leo was astonished. “I don’t know how to play soccer.”
“That’s fine. Just come and make up the numbers.”
“Alright.”
After hanging up, Leo changed directions and went to the GreenMount Sports Center.
As for Nicola playing soccer, Leo wasn’t surprised at all. Ever since he saw her for the first time, he noticed her slightly tomboyish tendencies, so it was normal for her to like soccer.
Arriving at the sports center, he parked the car and saw Nicola on the soccer field. Today, Nicola was wearing a soccer uniform, and due to her short hair, she looked like a tomboy.
There were many people here, probably over a hundred. Apart from those on the field, there were also around eighty to ninety people in the stands, likely here to watch the game.
Looking at the players around him, Leo felt awkward. Why?
Because apart from him, everyone else was female.
“Hey, take it!” Nicola threw a set of soccer gear to Leo.
“Come on, isn’t this a women’s soccer gear?” Leo wore a wry face.
“What women’s or men’s, it’s all the same. Hurry up and change in the locker room. The game is about to start!” Nicola ordered.
Since he was already here, Leo could only go to the locker room and change clothes.
At this moment, in the parking lot of the sports center, a young man with a somewhat sly look dialed a phone number.
“Mr. William, Leo has gone to the soccer field.”
“Keep watching him. I’ll have Carey come over soon. I’m going to teach that Leo a lesson!”
“Mr. William, do you think Carey will come?”
“Don’t worry. He loves this sports center because the woman he likes often plays soccer here.”
Barry hung up the phone with his left hand and had a wicked expression on his face. His right hand was in a cast and wrapped with bandages, looking quite pitiful.
Back on the soccer field, the game had already started. A big guy and a group of women playing soccer, Leo was really not used to it, so he volunteered to be the goalkeeper.
But as it turned out, women’s soccer was just as competitive as men’s. The competition was fierce.
After forty-five minutes, the first half ended, and Leo still hadn’t touched the ball, playing a negligible role.
Nicola took a sip of mineral water, then walked over to Leo and tossed him a bottle as she instructed, “The other team will step up their attack in the second half. Be careful.”
Leo nodded, indicating that he understood.
After a fifteen-minute halftime break, the second half began.
As Nicola had said, the opposing team intensified their offense in the second half. Their main striker broke through the defenders and headed straight for Leo.
The striker was fast, and she had already entered the penalty area. Then she lifted her foot and shot!
The soccer ball spun quickly, flying toward the upper left corner of the goal.
Just as it was about to go in, Leo lightly jumped and caught the ball with one hand.
Though his movements weren’t that professional, it still looked cool. His actions even prompted some girls in the stands to scream in excitement.
Nicola waved at Leo, indicating that he had done a good job.
But Leo misunderstood Nicola’s intention and kicked the ball directly.
The soccer ball shot into the sky, forming a large parabola and crossing over half the field, heading straight for Nicola.
The opposing players were startled by this kick. This goalkeeper had way too much leg strength.
Nicola, who was a forward, was now standing at the edge of the opposing team’s penalty area.
The soccer ball landed accurately at Nicola’s feet. She took the chance, dribbled past two defenders, and then shot!
The ball drew a beautiful arc, flying into the right upper corner of the goal. The opposing goalkeeper’s save was half a beat slow.
Goal!
The stands erupted into cheers and screams once again.
