Chapter 67: Wrong Film Set

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Thud!” Barry’s body slammed hard against the opposite wall, then slid down, followed by a cry of pain as his hands were covered in shards of broken glass from the wine glasses.
“Hugh, call someone, hurry!” Barry angrily yelled at another man he had brought with him.
The man pulled out his phone and made a call.
A couple of minutes later, more than ten fierce-looking men stormed into the private room.
“Get him!” Barry pointed at Leo with his glass-studded hand.
The group of men surrounded Leo.
“Stand behind me and don’t move,” Leo instructed Sophia, turning his head to her.
Sophia simply nodded instinctively.
With every move he made, Leo elicited cries of pain from his attackers. Within just two or three minutes, he had taken down all the men surrounding him, and they were all groaning and writhing on the floor.
This sight stunned everyone else in the room. They never expected a man to be this powerful.
After the brief astonishment, Barry went mad: “Call more people! Must take him down!”
“Momo, isn’t this Leo the one who married into the Henley family and lived off his wife? How can he fight like this?” Elsie asked nervously, as she was the one who invited Barry here.
Momo was also baffled: “Could it be that this ‘kept’ man secretly learned martial arts?”
Soon, the room’s door was pushed open again, and this time, more than thirty people rushed in.
These newcomers looked at the moaning men on the floor with no fear on their faces. Having seen much of the world, they had encountered their quite many skilled fighters, but they had always ended up defeated.
Thirty-plus people charged at Leo, but luckily the private room was spacious enough to give Leo some room to maneuver.
Elsie and Momo were frightened by the situation. If it hadn’t been for Barry falling near the entrance, they might have run away already.
Leo channeled his spiritual power, punching the first guy who charged at him, kicking the second, and then delivering a swift blow to the third guy’s face…
Leo didn’t want to kill anyone, so he held back. Otherwise, the scene would have turned even bloodier with the use of his weapon Purple Radiance.
Despite Leo’s strength, it’s true that it’s difficult to fight multiple opponents at once. He took two hits from baseball bats.
The bats broke upon hitting him, and Leo only felt a slight discomfort but was otherwise unaffected.
As he continued to fight, Leo picked up a steel pipe and charged into the crowd like a wolf among sheep.
The room filled with cries for help.
Seeing the people he brought collapsing one by one, Barry’s facial muscles twitched in panic.
“This guy is even more formidable than action stars in movies. Could he be a demon?” For the first time, Barry felt a sense of unease in his heart.
As the last standing guy looked at Leo with fear in his eyes, Leo twisted his waist and delivered a side kick, causing the man’s body to fly straight into the wall with a loud crash.
In just five or six minutes, Leo had brought down over thirty people, in addition to the ten or so from before, making around forty to fifty men groaning on the floor. The scene was more spectacular than ever.
Looking at this terrifying sight, Momo’s body trembled. This Leo guy didn’t look like someone living off his wife; he was clearly someone to be reckoned with!
Step by step, Leo walked toward Barry, a cruel smile on his face. “Anyone else?”
“You, you stay away…” Barry’s voice trembled as he tried to retreat, but his back was already against the wall.
“Call, keep calling for more people!” Barry’s voice quivered.
The young man who came in with him earlier stammered, “Mr. William, no… no more…”
Before he could finish, the door was pushed open again.
A man with a long scar on his face entered, followed by five or six of his lackeys, swaggering along.
If one looked closely, they’d notice the scarred man didn’t walk quite steadily.
The young man’s face brightened. “Scar!”
Scar had been in the sauna, and he received a call saying that they needed help dealing with someone here, so he came to lend a hand.
The moaning men on the floor were a constant reminder to Scar that the situation here was not simple.
Scar saw Leo standing in front of Barry, and his scarred face trembled for a moment.
“Sorry, wrong place. You guys can go on,” Scar apologized with his hands clasped, making a gesture as if he was disturbing them, and then quickly left.
His lackeys followed him, looking confused.
Outside, one of the lackeys asked, “Scar, did we really get it wrong? This is the place.”
Scar gave his lackey’s head a pat. “Of course not, you dimwit. Let’s go back and continue with our bath!”
Scar’s departure took away the last trace of hope in Barry’s heart.
When Leo crouched down in front of him, Barry’s face showed fear. “What do you want from me?”
“I don’t want anything. I just want to ask, which hand of yours touched my wife?” Leo’s expression seemed like a smile, but in Barry’s eyes, it was undoubtedly the devil’s grin.
“I didn’t touch your wife!”
“Think again,” Leo reminded him.
“I really didn’t touch her. I just shook hands with her.”
“With your right hand?” Leo’s tone softened.
Barry nodded.
“Stretch out your hand.”
“Why?” Barry had a bad feeling about this.
Leo slapped him impatiently. “Do as I say! Stop asking questions!”
Barry was taken aback by the slap but reluctantly extended his right hand.
Leo grabbed his wrist, and then a “crack” sound followed by Barry’s agonizing scream filled the room.
Leo had broken one of Barry’s hands. Afterward, he walked over to Sophia. “Let’s go.”
“Sophia, we…” Elsie and Momo wanted to say something.
Leo turned his head. “Don’t let me see you two again, or else…”
Leo gestured as he had just done when breaking Barry’s hand, and Elsie and Momo were scared, retreating and sitting on the ground.
Once inside the car, Sophia’s heart finally settled. She looked at Leo. “Leo, thank you for today.”
Sophia knew very well that if she hadn’t come with Leo, she might have been bullied by Barry.
“We’re family; no need to thank me,” Leo started the car.
Hearing this, Sophia couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy. She had never really considered Leo as part of her family before.
