Chapter 66: I’m Her Husband

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Beautiful face, beautiful name,” Barry said, not letting go of Sophia’s hand. “I heard your company is facing financial difficulties and you want to borrow money, right?”
“Yes,” Sophia twitched her hand, but couldn’t pull away, her face showing embarrassment, “you, you should let go of me…”
“How much do you want to borrow?” Barry finally released Sophia’s hand.
“Eighty million.” Sophia stated a figure.
“Eighty million, that’s not a small amount…” Barry pretended to contemplate, “the market economy isn’t doing well now, and the banks are tight with their money, right?”
Barry was speaking the truth; Sophia had already asked the banks, and if they had agreed to lend her the money, she wouldn’t be seeking help from others.
“Since you are Elsie and Momo’s good friend, that makes you my friend too. I’m a person who values loyalty; when a friend is in need, I won’t stand by and watch.” Barry’s gaze lingered on Sophia’s chest, “Eighty million, how many years do you want to borrow it for?”
“Three years.”
“Three years would mean the bank’s interest rate would be around 4. 7 percent. How about I give you 3. 5?” Barry offered.
“Really?” Sophia’s face lit up.
“When I, Barry, make a promise, I keep it. However, I have a condition.” Barry’s gaze turned lecherous.
“What condition?” Sophia had a bad feeling in her heart.
“Tonight, you have to accompany me.” Barry smiled, stating his demand.
Hearing this, Sophia stood up abruptly from the sofa and said coldly, “Mr. William, I’m here to borrow money, not to sell myself!”
Barry’s gaze fell on Sophia’s slender legs. “Eighty million, have you thought it through?”
“I won’t borrow from you!” Sophia was now repulsed by Barry.
“Sophia, think it over. Not everyone has the chance to meet Mr. William.” Elsie chimed in.
Sophia turned to Elsie and looked at her coldly, “Elsie, I never expected this of you. From today on, I, Sophia, no longer consider you my friend!”
“Sophia, don’t be like this. We’ve been friends for so many years, and I’ve always had your best interests at heart,” Momo quickly interjected.
The reason why Elsie and Momo were so concerned about Sophia’s situation was that they owed money to Barry. They had shown Barry Sophia’s photo and he promised to waive their debt if they helped him get this woman.
Sophia also turned to Momo and sneered, “Momo, I knew you, but I must have been blind!” She had seen through her so-called best friends.
Since the superficial friendship was torn, Elsie no longer held back, “Sophia, why pretend to be so high and mighty? You want money, and I’m just trying to help you. But you don’t appreciate it. Do you know who’s sitting in front of you? Barry, tone of the young masters of William Group! Your lousy company isn’t even worthy of a finger of him, so stop pretending!”
“Sophia, instead of squeezing into bed with your useless man, why not enjoy a night in the presidential suite’s hot tub with Barry? Just one night, and you’ll get eighty million. This opportunity isn’t something every woman can have,” Momo said with an educating tone, crossing her arms.
Sophia realized how low her so-called best friends could stoop.
“You guys shut up!” Sophia yelled angrily. “Forget about lending me eighty million. Even if you offered it to me for free, I still wouldn’t want it!”
“Sophia, don’t get angry, let’s go.” Boyce walked over.
Barry sitting on the sofa gestured to a man beside him, who then kicked Boyce.
Boyce was knocked to the ground.
“How dare you hit him!” Sophia panicked and rushed to help Boyce up.
Barry got up from the sofa and walked over to Sophia with a condescending attitude. “So, Sophia, let me make this clear today – whether you like it or not, you’ll borrow those eight million. The women I set my eyes on never escape my grasp.”
Barry’s true colors were now fully revealed – he was nothing more than an arrogant and predatory man.
Boyce struggled to get up from the ground and stood in front of Sophia. “Mr. William, we live in a society governed by the rule of law. You can’t force people into what you want.”
One of Barry’s men kicked Boyce again, this time with even greater force, and Boyce held his stomach, unable to get up immediately.
“If you guys hit him again, believe me, I’ll call the police!” Sophia took out her phone, pretending to dial.
But Barry swiftly knocked the phone out of her hand and slowly approached her.
“What… what do you want to do!?” Sophia had backed into a corner, with no escape.
Barry reached out his right hand, intending to lift Sophia’s delicate chin.
“Slap!”
Five finger marks appeared on Barry’s face from the force of Sophia’s slap.
Barry spit out a mouthful of saliva, his expression even more sinister as he laughed, “I love it when you resist so fiercely. Once I get you in bed, you’ll have to be just as passionate. Otherwise, it won’t be fun.”
“You’re shameless!” Sophia felt scared.
Boyce finally struggled to his feet and prepared to rush at Barry, but one of Barry’s men grabbed him by the collar and delivered a slap.
The people in the private room seemed to know Barry, and they nervously watched but dared not intervene.
“Beautiful lady, you won’t be leaving this place tonight. Why don’t you come with me for a more exciting game in bed?” Barry said, trying to grab Sophia.
“If you dare to touch her, I’ll break your hand,” a cold voice sounded from behind Barry.
“Who the f***…” Barry turned around, only to see a stranger standing behind him, looking puzzled. “Who are you?”
“I’m her husband,” Leo said indifferently.
“You’re her man?” Barry suddenly laughed, “Interesting, interesting. Then you can witness how I’ll play with your woman. Let’s start by breaking one of his legs, so he can’t stand and talk to me.”
The man who held Boyce down pushed him to the ground and walked toward Leo.
When he reached Leo, without saying a word, Leo punched him.
“Thud!”
After a muffled sound, the big man flew out, landing on a table, shattering bottles and glasses all over the floor.
One of the timid women screamed, while the man writhed on the ground, unable to get up.
“Damn, you dare to hit my men!?” Barry aimed a kick at Leo.
Leo caught his foot and threw him away.
