Silence lingered for so long. He didn’t answer, I only heard his heavy breath buried on my cheeks that made my heart pound a bit hard.
He moved closer and pinched my chin a little. “I’m always here for you no matter what, you know that. I like what I’m doing, so I hope you won’t tell me to stop this,” he said softly.
I gasped. With his lips curved and smile warmer than the gentle sun, I felt my heart melt. He was really a charming little devil. I’m not even doubting why a lot of women gets charmed just by his smile.
“Please, let me take care of you. That is what friendship means, right?” he whispered at our very close distance. I almost got drunk at the smell of his breath.
I can’t help but to nod. Why not? After all, we’re still friends. He’s still my knight in shining armor, my companion, my favorite, and my Ellwood.
He finally closed our distance and hugged me. I leaned my head onto his chest. I bit my bottom lip as I start to hear his heart beat. Calm and steady.
I closed my eyes and buried myself more. After a long tiring day, I badly needed a hug coming from him.
Sunlight filled the sky and scattered everywhere. The golden light softly caressed my bare skin. I buried myself and hugged what I assumed the pillow.
“Good morning…” a low, softer voice soothed my innards.
“Morning…” I replied with my bedroom voice.
I heard a small laugh at the back of my head. The pillow I was hugging became warmer when I felt it hugged my tight. Wait… what?
I quickly opened my eyes and sat on the bed. “Ellwood! W-what are you doing here?!” I fucking stammered.
His brows twitched, I can clearly see his playful smile while staring at me.
“Your bed is great, I want to rest for a few more minutes,” he said it closely, softly tapping the comforter over his body.
My eyes widened as I raked my eyes on him. He’s not wearing his shirt, I don’t know what he’s wearing underneath the comforter that hugged us both.
“How was your sleep?”
“Y-you slept here last night?!” I don’t remember letting him stay here!
“Wait, I actually couldn’t sleep last night. I was awake all night long…” he chuckled sexily.
Damn it, I bit my lip hard. Gosh, did I slept soundly last night that I didn’t even remember anything?
“I don’t remember letting you stay here.” I averted my eyes and was about to get off the bed when he suddenly pulled me back to lay down.
“What the fuck, Ellwood!” My breathing hitched, I’m really panicking right now. His dominant action and his strong muscles pinned me hard against the bed.
I slowly felt my cheeks heating as he hugged me. Damn you, Ellwood. You’re fucking crossing of the line.
“You’re very tired last night. You slept in my arms so I carried you to your room… And I decided to sleep here with you because you wouldn’t let go of me…” he said it calm and steady.
“No, I didn’t,” I defensed.
Because of our proximity, I can’t avert myself from him. His warm massive hand clutched around my face. He stroked my cheeks with his thumb.
“Yes, you did, sweetheart…” he said in a hushed voice.
I pursed my lips and tilted my head. His eyes quickly glanced at my lips. “I couldn’t sleep last night because that was the only chance I could freely stare at you like this…” he uttered slowly.
I felt his weight from above me. He licked his lower lip and looked at me intensely.
Our proximity is too close that I couldn’t breath properly. I ended up gulping to ease the havoc of my heart.
“I’m sorry, but I wanted to taste those sweet lips of yours…” he said in a low calming voice.
Before I could protest to him, the loud knocks outside the door made him stop.
