Esmeralda
As the days went by, my stay in the Blood Moon Pack was heaven on earth.
I never imagined my life could be this easy.
My stay in the Crescent Moon Pack brought nothing but pain and agony to me. Every day, I couldn’t wait to escape from the prison I was confined in.
After years of being separated from my mum, this was the first time that life became fair to me. It was the first time that life made sense being a wolf.
I had all I ever wanted. And all I had cried for was at the reach of my hands.
A loving and hospitable pack, accommodating pack members and the sweetest mate.
What more could I ask for?
Even if he hasn’t introduced me as his Luna to the pack, it didn’t matter. At least his Beta knew who I was and he wasn’t ashamed to hang around me, an Omega.
My life made sense now, even if I hadn’t experienced what most wolves experienced, My first shift and a wolf’s abilities. But I won’t let that get to me, at least, I had what most wolves never had.
The Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.
Everything seemed so perfect for weeks now. Though it got me a little scared because nothing perfect lasts forever.
I hope nothing ruined the perfect life I was building.
It was like a dream come true. A wild dream.
I didn’t want to wake up.
I want to remain trapped in it forever. I wanted this happy moment to last forever.
A smile broke from my lips as I caressed the Emerald locket that sat lazily on my neck, complementing my pale skin. Sometimes, it compliments my Emerald green eyes that shine occasionally. I didn’t know why it shone, but it was beautiful.
I could sit all day watching this piece of gem that clung to my neck. It was like a daily ritual.
Sitting and admiring its beauty.
Day in and day out, I became addicted to my locket. I almost couldn’t go a day without touching it or staring at it for hours. It slowly became my little obsession.
I knew obsessions were bad, but who wouldn’t get obsessed with this beauty?
I reluctantly tore my gaze off it, placing it inside my top to conceal it and I shut the door of my room, contemplating what to do.
For weeks, I didn’t do anything except walk around the building lazily, chit chat with maids who were less busy, watch some programmes or listen to music on Alpha Kade’s television, swim in his large swimming pool or get myself busy with flowers in the garden.
Boredom became my daily companion. It became worse when Alpha Kade wasn’t at home and when Jade was busy. I couldn’t go to Selene’s wing, the annoying guards wouldn’t let me in.
Speaking of Jade, it took a while to become myself around her again after she caught me kissing the Alpha. I almost died of embarrassment throughout the week.
A part of me secretly wished I was still a housekeeper. At least I wouldn’t get bored. I will always be busy with cleaning.
My eyes travelled around the house lazily, and my mind ran through thoughts of what I could do.
Maybe today was the day I would die of boredom.
“Howdy, girl!” A feminine voice broke the silence, followed by a pair of soft hands that gripped me.
I muffled a scream, placing my hand on my chest, “You startled me,” I gritted, turning to see who it was.
“What’s the fun if you are not scared? Moreover, you looked like you were about to pass out anytime soon as a result of boredom,” Jade chuckled, giving me a hug, “You are adding weight. And it looks so good on you,”
“Thank you,” I smiled.
I was at peace. That was the reason I added weight.
“Are you busy, Jade?” I started, giving her a puppy look.
“I would be soon, why?”
“Can I help?” I bit my lips, hoping her answer would change this time. As much as I was willing to assist her, she never allowed me.
Did the Alpha tell her anything?
“You know the answer Esmeralda, but if you want me to tell you, I will. The fucking answer is a big no. You can’t help me,” She broke her words, hurting my feelings, “The Alpha would have my head for that,”
A frown settled on my face, “Does that mean you will be away for the rest of the day?” Worry and sadness laced my voice.
“No, I’m done with my work and I’m free for now till evening. The Alpha would be home today so I will cook his food because Madam Dora is a bit tired,” She explained.
“So you will be with me from now till evening?” I asked, gasping.
“Yes,” She replied and I squealed in excitement.
Finally, a companion. I won’t be bored.
“Let’s go to the garden,” She said, holding my hand and leading me to the garden.
My favourite place in the house.
We strode to the bench, sitting on it with our hands intertwined.
“Look at your hair, what a mess,” She complained, her hand brushing a few strands of my hair, “I think I have something that can be of use,” She said, fumbling with her pocket.
“Thanks, Jade, so what do you want to do with my hair?” I asked, excitement springing within me.
“First of all, I’ve been wanting to tell you, my name is not pronounced as Jay-de, it is pronounced as Jah-day. My full name is Jadesola, it is a Yoruba name and it means to emerge into wealth. I am a Nigerian, but as a result of migration, we found ourselves here, my parents and I. The Alpha’s elder brother, Aaron found us first before he took us to his parents. The Alpha’s parents were nice so they accommodated us and took care of us,” She explained with a smile on her face.
“Interesting,” I added.
If it isn’t the Aaron that Alpha Kade talked about while we were in the garden.
I wanted to know about him.
“Where is Aaron?” I inquired.
“He is dead. He died the night that the pack was invaded. He was supposed to be Alpha because he was the eldest, not Alpha Kade,”
“I see,” I nodded as things got clearer to me.
Alpha Kade has gone through a lot.
No matter how tough he acted, all I saw was a broken man.
“Let’s not spoil the mood. It’s in the past now,” Jades voice brought me out of my reverie, “What style do you want me to make?”
“I don’t know. Any beautiful style,”
“I will make you a Nigerian hairstyle if it’s fine by you,”
“Oh, it’s totally fine with me. I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about that country,”
“I’ll make you suku. It will make your face pop out because all the hair I plaited will come to the centre of your head,” She said, setting my face in different angles, “With time, I’ll teach you things about Nigeria,”
“I would love to learn,”
We haven’t started when Silvius’ pronounced aura filled the air.
How did he find us?
It was like I could hear him speak.
“Luna,”
