Book:MATED TO THE BLOOD ALPHA Published:2024-6-3

Kade
I didn’t know that I was engrossed in my wild thoughts till the slamming of the door jerked me from my seat.
My eyes travelled to the man standing by the door and a heavy frown descended on my face. Every bit of pleasure in me ceased.
The familiar aura radiating off the man made me burn in anger.
“How dare he?!” Tyson growled in my head, pacing angrily, “He should be dealt with. No one touches what is mine!” He growled possessively, ready to launch at Silvius.
It took me a lot of self-control to not bury my claws deep inside Silvius’ throat.
“Alpha,” Silvius bowed briefly before raising his eyes to meet mine, but a glare from me made his eyes meet the floor.
How dare he?!
I let my deadly aura fill the room, watching from the corner of my eyes how it blasted Silvius that he submitted.
Anger quickened my blood, as I took measured steps to where Silvius stood, observing how he trembled greatly under my aura.
Bastard!
“You called me, Alpha,” He said weakly, breaking the uncomfortable silence with his eyes still glued to his feet.
I could taste his nervousness at the tip of my tongue and I could sense many questions bubbling in his head as he thought of possible ways he annoyed me get this treatment.
I hardly got mad at Silvius and he doesn’t push his limit, nor does he take my leniency for granted.
But right now, I felt like tearing Silvius apart.
Thanks to Tyson.
“What took you so long?” I demanded, using my Alpha tone that surprised Silvius even more. I don’t usually use my Alpha tone for him.
He knew he was in trouble. A great deal of trouble. But he couldn’t tell how he got himself into it.
“I’m sorry, Alpha, I was working on the assignment that I had long abandoned,” His reply was fast, but a growl sent him shivering backwards.
His back was touching my office wall.
He was trapped now. I liked that.
I knew he was thinking about what he did to make me livid, but he couldn’t place a finger on it.
“But, Alpha, it is about Lucy, and I am making progress…” He replied, trying to calm me, but I wasn’t in the mood to listen to anything concerning that bitch called Lucy.
I wanted to know what the hell he did to my mate.
Usually, Lucy’s report steals my interest, but not now, not today. I wasn’t going to let what Silvius did slide.
After dealing with him, I will deal with the bitch, Lucy.
The bitch that massacred my family.
“Fuck your progress. I don’t want to hear about it. Not now!” I yelled, cutting him short by clenching my fist and hitting it on my office desk.
“I am sorry, Alpha,” He apologized, taking his eyes off mine to meet the floor again.
“Keep that to yourself and tell me what happened between you and Esmeralda. What did you do to her?” I fired, unable to keep my anger in check.
It took a lot to gain self-control.
“Esmeralda?” He asked in disbelief, raising his eyes to meet mine, “Don’t tell me you are in this mood because of that girl,” He hissed, moving away from the wall, but I blocked his path, fixing my gaze on his, making him wallow in the abyss of confusion.
“I asked a question, Silvius, what did you do to Esmeralda?”
“Calm down, Kade, I didn’t do anything to her,” He huffed, trying to read my expression.
Anger was the only thing written on me.
My hands found his collar, choking him on it as he gasped for breath.
“It’s Alpha for you!” I bellowed before releasing him.
“Sorry, Alpha,” He apologized, coughing slightly before massaging his neck and watching me worriedly.
“You didn’t do anything to Esmeralda? But you punished her right?”
“But, Alpha, she is just some Omega that you got from the Crescent Moon Pack months ago, she was a slave there and here, she is a maid. Why are you so concerned with what I did to her? Not like you give a shit about her anyway,” He replied with a question that made my anger freeze for a bit.
She was a maid here.
It wasn’t Silvius’ fault for whatever he did to her.
He wasn’t aware because I hid the information from him.
I was ashamed of telling him that my mate was an Omega, a slave.
I was at fault.
But thanks to my arrogance, I wouldn’t admit it.
Maybe I should tell him.
That my mate was an Omega? No way.
But I couldn’t defend her for long and Silvius will notice it and he won’t forget to bombard me with questions.
“She is not your maid, Silvius, she works in my quarters. You don’t have the right to lay your fingers on her,”
“So that is it?” He asked sarcastically, “That lousy little thing is the reason you called me here and started acting up? She has been feeding you with words right?” He scoffed, raising his hand to meet his neck before massaging it.
“Don’t ever disrespect her again, Silvius. Whether in my absence or my presence,” I stated, my voice leaving a warning tone that got Silvius more confused than ever.
“I have never disrespected you nor flaunt your orders, Alpha, but if this is about that bitch…”
I saw red at once and I didn’t let Silvius complete his words before my hands grabbed him and flung him hard on the wall.
“This is it? Really? You are fighting me because of that bitch?! What has come over you?” He yelled, making an effort to stand on his feet but a punch from me sent him flying backwards and I charged at him, ripping his neck with my claws.
I didn’t care if he was bleeding, he shouldn’t lay his hand on Esmeralda.
“Don’t you ever call her a bitch. Ever again!” I warned, emphasizing each word
“For your information, she almost killed us that night that was the reason I punished her. I made her clean the middle floor and shut her up in the dark room without food or water. But I didn’t hit her,”
“She fucking released you from that cell despite my warning. What if you killed her and killed us all? She deserved to be punished. She never listens,” He ranted.
He was wrong. She doesn’t deserve punishment.
“She deserves some accolades because she saved me,” I said calmly, staring into space as my mind drifted to the night she saved me from my demons.
“What?”
“She saved my life, Silvius, twice. She took the pain of risking her life and releasing me from the silver chains and the wolfsbane. She did those selfless acts because she cares about me. But all you could do was punish her? Why?”
“She didn’t save you, she was planning to kill us and to kill herself to end her miserable life,”
“Damn it, Silvius, she was the reason I woke up the next two days. I am sure that I would have woken earlier if she was around me, but thanks to you for shutting her in the dark room. If she hadn’t saved me, the demons would have killed me and I wouldn’t be here now.”
“I don’t understand you, anymore. What the hell are you saying?” He asked, walking up to me, “Don’t tell me you have suddenly started to trust that girl. What if she is a spy?”
Damn!
Esmeralda was not a spy!
I was in a situation right now. And I didn’t know what to do.
“Why are you fighting for this girl so much? Why do you suddenly care about her? The last time you saw me with her, you didn’t even bother. So why are you acting weird now?”
“Nothing,” I said in a dismissive tone, “I think you should apologize to her,”
“What? No way! I won’t apologize to a slave, an Omega,” He spat, walking away angrily.
“Silvius…” My voice trailed, “You have no idea who she is,”
“I just want to know why are you fighting for her and who she is. Why did she even risk her life for you? Is there something you are not telling me?” He asked, making me groan in frustration.
“Tell him, Kade,” Tyson howled, growing impatiently as I withhold the truth.
I don’t think I can hold it anymore.
“Fuck it, Silvius, She is my mate! Esmeralda is my mate!” I yelled, watching his eyes grow wide in surprise as the colour on his face began to drain.
“And you should apologize to her. It was an order!”
