Esmeralda
I melted under Alpha Kade’s touch, allowing him to take care of me like a big brother takes care of his little sister.
I couldn’t help but blush till my cheeks turned into the shade of cherry as he maneuvered his fingers around my injured foot, carefully wiping the remnants of broken pieces of glass that were stuck to it.
And for the first time, I felt happy that I got injured.
Apart from the days when I went into his room to clean, nothing had brought us together. Not even a conversation.
I had been afraid to initiate a conversation with him, but his stinking pride and his cold nature shoved the words back to my throat before they could form, leaving me devastated.
Day and night, I had longed to be close to him, to feel him, even if it was for an hour.
But today, the Moon goddess answered my prayers. Even if it was to get injured to have his attention.
She gave me what I’ve always longed for. His undiluted attention.
Thank you, Moon goddess.
Not only was he attending to me, but his hands also were on me, and in no time, I was sure his lips would be on me, nibbling and sucking every inch of my body while I cling to him as if my life depended on it.
It was no secret, I saw the way he kept staring at my feet, almost drooling over them.
It didn’t take me a second to know he has a toe fetish. And I wouldn’t mind if he decides to suck on them this instant.
A feeling of disgust pricked me hard as I extended the length of my jeans trousers to cover my legs.
I didn’t want him to see how badly scarred they were.
They were ugly. They were repulsive.
The scars I had gotten from being chained like an animal in my former Pack.
I was afraid that it would kill the mood.
Horror flashed in my eyes when I saw him bring out a bottle of methylated spirit and cotton wool.
No. Not this treatment.
I hated the pain that comes with it.
The memory of how my mum used it on me when I injured myself flashed in my head.
There should be another way to treat cuts. Another painless way.
“What is it?” He asked in a very concerned tone, earning surprise from me.
The Blood Alpha could be this compassionate?!
Maybe he wasn’t as bad as I imagined.
Whatever. He still shut a girl in the North wing.
“It stings and it is painful,” I replied, hugging a pillow as if expecting it to take the pain away.
“It’s okay. It only hurts for a few seconds. After that, you are fine,” He said, consoling me with his hands on mine, rubbing them, as if trying to ease me of the pain.
At once, the familiar sparks came in waves, crashing through me, almost making me shudder as the current jolted me.
And like a flash of light, the previous anger in me vanished like it never appeared.
Mate bond was doing its job.
I took a quick glance at him, noting how he pulled away from my touch, at once, and I knew he felt the same way.
Muffling a scream at the contact of the methylated spirit and cotton wool, I couldn’t help but wriggle in pain as he dabbed the soaked wool on my foot, cleaning the wound as gently as he could.
I couldn’t believe my eyes as he tenderly treated me, stopping in between to console me.
Was this Alpha Kade? The cold and ruthless Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack?!
If he kept doing this, I couldn’t wait to get injured again.
I couldn’t wait for his gentle hands to find me.
What was he doing to me? Why was he making me feel this way?
Some minutes ago, I was mad at him for locking a girl and acting like it was alright for the girl to be alone, but at this moment, I had forgotten everything about it. My anger washed away easily as the waves washed away the sand at the beach. It calmed me, replacing every bit of anger in me, making me want him.
Thanks to his seductive scent.
My hand found my forehead, rubbing it gently as it throbbed.
I hit my head hard during the fall.
“Are you alright?” He asked, coming close to me.
“My head aches terribly,” I whispered, groaning in pain.
Despite his excellent way of masking his feelings, I could swear that guilt flashed in his eyes for a second, before it vanished.
He was the reason I fell.
“Have you had something to eat?” He moved away from me, his hands searching for something in the first aid box.
Before I could reply, my stomach decided to embarrass me. Its loud rumbling almost made me wish the ground would swallow me.
A chuckle rolled off his lips as he watched me, while I hid my face beneath my palm.
Kill me now, Moon goddess.
I tilted my face to meet his but it was plastered in confusion.
What was he confused about?
I could feel that he was at war with himself. Himself and his wolf.
What were they arguing about?
Drowning in disappointment, I watched him leave the room, leaving his box behind without turning to look at me.
What did I do?
Was he mad at me because I was hungry? Or because my stomach made so much noise?
It had to be my stomach.
Maybe he hated the noise.
Fuck!
I hated it when everything was going well, but a very tiny mistake decides to ruin it, to ruin our moment.
Would he come back for me?
Has he forgotten what we shared a few minutes ago?
Sitting upright, I hugged my small frame, resting my back against the bedframe with my lap touching my chest and my head resting on my knees, drowning in the sea of thoughts.
He left me alone… again.
He made me fall for him, then he left me hanging.
Why would he do this to me?!
I was a fool for falling for his charms, his sweet talks and his caring nature.
What was I thinking? That he would fall for me.
Why does he always make me fall for him, and then make me feel stupid for falling for him?
I closed my eyes, blinking back the tears that burned them. My heart couldn’t bear this new pain that stung it.
But I wasn’t going to cry.
No. I was done crying for anyone. Especially for Alpha Kade.
The door flung open at once, almost making me jump in fright.
Alpha Kade walked in, with beads of sweat forming on his forehead. In his hands was a plate of sandwiches and water.
Then it dawned on me.
He didn’t leave.
He went to get me something to eat.
Did he just prepare food for me?!
Unbelievable!
“Eat,” He ordered, without sparing me a glance as he dropped the plate of sandwich before me.
“But my hands hurt,” I replied, pouting my lips.
“But you have to eat to use the medicine. And you must eat,” He said, muttering a curse afterwards.
“I know, but I can’t eat by myself,” I complained, caressing my arms and staring at the food boredly.
He was left with one option.
To feed me!
But would he?
