Kade
“Get out!” She ordered, emphasizing each word as her voice rang in my head, almost making my head spin.
Taken aback by her words, my eyes scanned her, wondering how she had the energy to scream despite almost losing consciousness.
She was so brave. The bravest Omega I had ever seen.
She was ordering me to leave my house! Even Silvius wouldn’t dare.
“What are you still staring at? Leave this place and leave me the hell alone,” She screamed again, this time, not as loud as the previous one, but I could feel the seriousness in it. She meant every word she said.
“Just shut up and stay still,” I hissed in annoyance, fumbling with her injured leg while she threw kicks at me, but I dodged them.
“Can you just stay still?” I gritted my teeth, swallowing the bile of anger that rose in my throat.
I was so close to using chains on her if that would make her stay still.
“You won’t dare,” Tyson threatened, I could feel anger stirring within him, but I cared less.
I wasn’t going to let him tell me what to do. He was my wolf and I had control over him.
Tyson’s recent behaviour began to annoy me these days. He could go mute for days without talking to me, especially when I had issues with Esmeralda. But when I threatened to punish her, he ran to protect her.
He really needs to get hold of himself and stop defending Esmeralda at the slightest opportunity.
“Don’t touch me,” She protested, flinging her arms and her legs in different directions.
I just wanted to treat her wound and leave.
Why was she so dramatic?!
“Damn it, Esmeralda!” I yelled, unable to keep up with her childish attitude, “I don’t enjoy doing this, so stay still while I treat you and I will leave or you can keep being stubborn and bleed to death” I said, earning a disapproving growl from Tyson.
To the Moon goddess, I hated what I was doing. But Tyson won’t stop making my conscience prick me.
She was supposed to get punished, badly punished for stepping beyond her boundaries and breaking the rules, but she accidentally got injured and escaped punishment.
Great!
She wouldn’t escape the next one.
“I don’t need your help. Madam Dora will treat me,” She clicked her tongue, turning away from me to hide her reddened face.
“Sorry to burst your bubbles, but Madam Dora is not available, I sent her on an errand,”
“Whatever. Jade will help me. We are friends,” She whispered in an unbothered tone, playing with her fingers.
A chuckle left my lips before I could stop it, “Unfortunately, Madam Dora took Jade. So you have no one left. Except for Vanessa. That is it you wouldn’t mind Vanessa helping you,” I teased her, enjoying the shocked look that spread on her face.
“The ball is in your court. Let me treat you or you can stay here alone till you bleed out. And by the time Madam Dora or Jade comes to save you, you would have been long dead,” I said without an atom of pity, ignoring the look she gave me.
I wasn’t known for pity. I speak the truth, no matter how bitter or hurtful it sounds.
Silence. A long silence stretched, as she stared at me, undecided. I could feel her debating within herself.
Impatiently, I stood up, grabbing the first aid kit as I turned, about to leave the room.
“Wait,” Her voice called, this time it was faint. I knew it was only a matter of time before she lost consciousness, “Fine. Treat me,”
“Hmm,” I halted, glaring at her with an arched eyebrow, “Excuse me? If you want me to treat you, you will have to say it properly. Not everyone is lucky to get the Alpha to treat them,”
“Alright then. Please, treat me,” She whispered. I could feel her eyes roll.
Good girl.
I sighed wearily, shunning Tyson who beamed in happiness in my head.
I hated when he was like that wherever I was alone with Esmeralda.
“Get hold of yourself, Tyson, she is just a girl,” I gritted, annoyed at his childish display, “What are you? Some fifteen year old teenager?”
“She is not just a girl, she is our mate,” He corrected, I could feel his excitement spread through me.
I grabbed a chair close to the dresser and sat on it, placing the kit on the bed before opening it.
“Stretch the injured leg,” I ordered, feeling a wave of satisfaction as she obeyed without questioning me.
Good girl.
A pang of guilt pricked me at the sight of the bloodstained leg.
I hurt her.
Taking the leg with uttermost care, I couldn’t help but shudder at the wild sparks that ran through me, filling me with butterflies in my tummy.
Thanks to mate bond.
I was going to drop this leg if care wasn’t taken.
I ran my fingers across her small foot, feeling the effect of the familiar spark that ran through me. It was strange. It was fire.
I hadn’t felt something like this before.
The feeling was electrifying, so hot, but I didn’t let go of her foot. I wanted more.
I wanted to feel this every time.
I couldn’t help but notice her labored breathing. That small nose took in sharp breaths as she shut her eyes, enjoying what the sparks were doing to her.
She could feel what I was feeling.
I let my eyes fall on her other foot that peeked out of the sheet, beckoning unto me.
Those small feet of hers.
Small and perfect.
Perfect for me to suck on.
Snap out of it, Kade!
Focus!
I told myself, reluctantly shoving the strange feeling aside.
Balancing the foot on my lap, I removed the specks of broken glass that were on it, before wiping it with a clean cloth, removing the blood stains.
She healed slowly. Very slowly.
I opened the box, bringing out methylated spirit and a ball of cotton wool. Pouring some amount of methylated spirit on the cotton wool, I held her leg in place as I was about to dab it on the open wound.
She gasped, making me shoot her a worried look.
Was she scared of this treatment?
“What is it?” I asked, surprised at the generous amount of worry laced in my tone.
“It stings and it is painful,” She sniffed, tugging the pillow closer to herself.
“It’s okay. It only hurt for a few seconds. After that, you are fine,” I said, caressing her hand softly, but the wild sparks jolted me, making me withdraw my hands.
Ignoring her soft sobs, I cleaned the wound with the solution, stopping to console her in between as she wriggled in pain.
I didn’t like seeing her in pain.
“Mate,” Tyson whimpered after seeing Esmeralda in tears.
“Are you alright?” I asked, moving away from the chair, and sitting close to her.
“My head aches terribly,” She complained, placing her hand on her pounding head.
I could feel it.
Memories of how she fell, hitting her head hard in the North wing flashed in my head.
She got so scared that she fainted.
“Have you had anything to eat?” I asked, searching through the box for an aspirin.
As if on cue, her stomach rumbled, making her blush to her ears.
“No,” She whispered, feeling embarrassed.
“Fuck!” I cursed, remembering there was no cooked food.
I remembered sending Madam Dora and Jade on an errand, and assuring them that they didn’t need to cook anything.
I wasn’t sure if they would arrive since it was already late.
Oh no!
What the fuck do I do?
“Cook for her,” Tyson suggested, pacing about in my head.
I should cook for Esmeralda?!
