When Michelle heard Lucius leaving in the middle of the night, she knew he was going to see Emma. She felt the bile in her throat and got up from the bed. She went to her closet and opened a jewellery box. Underneath a necklace was a key. She removed the key and went back to the bedroom. Squatting, she inserted the key into the bottom drawer and twisted it. She pulled the drawer open and stared at the box inside it. Grabbing the box, Michelle stood up straight and went to put it on the bed. She sat down and opened the box.
She removed the dagger inside it and stared at it. There was a vial of a certain poison in the box as well. Michelle placed the dagger back in the box and returned it to where it had come from before locking up. This time, she didn’t take the key back to the closet. She placed it under the mattress.
Michelle went back to bed and pulled out her phone. She went to the contacts and deleted Axel’s number. She couldn’t believe that Axel had been brought down by Jack Carver, Lucius’s friend. She had thought Axel was powerful enough to keep Emma away.
But now she had to take matters into her hands. Axel had stopped her from killing Emma and he was no more. She didn’t care about the consequences anymore. All she wanted was for Emma to die and for Lucius to live a miserable life. It didn’t matter what happened to her. She didn’t think she would be happy if she was not the Luna of the pack. No one seemed to love her anyway so life would always be boring.
Eventually, the woman drifted off to sleep. In the morning, she woke up ready to kill Emma Greenfield. She was in a terrible mood and didn’t feel like talking to anyone until the deed was done. Even her best friend Janet was not spared that day.
“Jeez!” Janet said after Michelle had yelled at her. She stood up and carried her tray, looking for somewhere else to sit. Since Janet was usually the only person who sat with Michelle, Michelle sat alone at her table that day.
It didn’t go unnoticed. Several looks were cast her way and she could hear people murmuring, wondering what was going on between her and her only friend. Michelle ate her food quickly and left within minutes.
She had not seen Lucius in his room that morning, which meant only one thing. He had spent the night with Emma. Michelle felt disrespected. How dare he cheat on her in the pack where everyone could know?
Before becoming luna, Michelle had known that alphas were allowed to have mistresses if they wanted but she had thought she’d be able to control Lucius. Lucius had been quite timid back then, but he had changed a lot after meeting Emma. Michelle believed the rogue had influenced him against her.
As she got closer to the cottage, her angry increased. She regretted not carrying the knife with her. She had decided to first check out how things were before going to finish the job. Besides, with Lucius around, she wouldn’t be able to kill the girl. Lucius would defend her. She needed a time when Emma was alone, that meant Lucius would have to be doing other things.
“You can’t go in,” the guard who was seated on the porch said.
“Why?”
“Alpha’s orders. He said no one should enter without permission. He said that if anyone wants to go in, they have to ask him for permission.”
Michelle stood there for a while, staring at the door. Suddenly, tears were rolling down her eyes. “How would you feel, if you knew your wife was locked in a house with a man who wanted her?”
The man stood up and pulled out a handkerchief. He went and proffered it to Michelle.
“Thank you,” Michelle said and continued crying, the sobs getting louder and stronger. This seemed to make the man uncomfortable, which was the effect Michelle was going for.
“You can have a seat. I’ll talk to alpha Lucius.”
“No, no, no. I’m going to leave.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
An onlooker would think Michelle had lost but the woman was smiling inwardly because she had got what she wanted. If that was going to be the guard around Emma all day, things were going to be easy. Michelle went back to her room and connected to the person who had given her the box.
“Are you sure one stab is enough to kill her?” she asked.
“Yes, if you leave it for at least two minutes. The dagger should have enough poison as well.”
“Thank you so much,” Michelle said and cut off the connection to the other person’s mind.
Michelle spent most of the day in the alpha’s floor, occasionally looking out of the windows. The windows on the northern side of the floor provided a good view of the route leading to the cottage where Emma was staying. Michelle could see everyone going and returning from there. Towards lunch time, she saw Casey heading there with some food. While Casey was still there, she saw Lucius leaving. Lucius headed towards the garden with a guard different from the one Michelle had seen at the cottage. After an hour, Michelle was eating by the living room window. She saw Casey returning to the pack house. Michelle figured it was time since no one was at the house. Hopefully, Emma was taking a nap. Michelle applied poison to the dagger using a spatula then waited for the poison to dry on the dagger. She placed the dagger inside the large pockets of her coat and left the room.
When she got to the cottage, she was relived to find the same guard from that morning at the porch. He was drinking water when he saw her. He paused, placed the water bottle on the floor before standing up.
“How are you feeling now?” he inquired.
“Stronger, I guess. I want to see my husband. Will you please let him know?”
The man shook his head. “He left.”
Michelle came closer. “You’re so handsome. Do you have a mate?”
“N-no. But why do you ask?”
Michelle grabbed his family jewels and looked into his eyes. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you and how kind you were to me. My husband hates me and he loves another. Is it fair that I continue wanting him alone?”
The man shook his head.
“He has no interest and I have needs. I’m sure you do too. Why don’t we help each other while he’s away?”
“He’ll kill me.”
“Don’t you want to feel my soft lips around your cock, even just for a minute?”
The man nodded. “I would like that very much.”
“We’ll go into one of the rooms. That girl must be taking a nap now. She always does that after eating.”
“Yeah, I overhead her telling her friend she was going to sleep for a while.”
“See? Let’s do this.”
“But-
“Don’t you want me?” she looked in his eyes.
“Okay,” he said. “Let’s go in.”
Michelle smiled as she followed him in. this is almost too easy, she thought.
