Coming out of the shower, Michelle headed to her part of the closet. She pulled out her favourite lingerie and perfume from the drawer. The lingerie was a hot pink two piece. She placed everything she had carried alongside those two articles on the bed and laid her towel on the bedroom couch. She sat on it and started applying sweet smelling lotion on her porcelain skin. She applied the perfume after that and went to stand in front of the vanity where she proceeded to apply make up on her skin. She smiled as she stared at her beautiful face through the mirror. She looked perfect.
Michelle went and got her lingerie and started putting it on. She frowned when she realised both the top and bottom half felt tighter. She glanced at her stomach and she saw a trace of fat. She wondered if she should put on a one-piece instead because it could hide the small roll of fat developing on her waist.
“It’s all that stress,” she said, remembering Emma. Michelle figured stress due to Emma’s presence had been the source of her weight gain.
Michelle grabbed another perfume bottle and applied more perfume. She glanced at a robe but shook her head, deciding she didn’t need it. Emma had been gone for over a week. Surely, Lucius should have accepted that she would not be returning any time soon. It was almost 9 pm so she decided to hurry in case he decided he wanted to sleep early.
She didn’t bother to knock on the door. She opened it and found Lucius lying on his back. He was facing the ceiling, looking thoughtful. When she barged in, he sat up. His eyes widened for a split second due to her state of undress.
“What are you doing here?”
Michelle smiled, “You’re really funny. I’m your wife. Do I need a special reason to come and see my husband?”
“Stop being foolish, Michelle.”
Michelle went closer to the bed and climbed on it. “You’re the one who should stop acting foolish. I forgive you for everything you have put me through since we got married and I’m ready for us to start afresh. Let’s complete the mating bond. I’m ready to be a better wife to you.”
Lucius sighed. “Please leave me alone, Michelle. I’m not in the mood for your drama right now.”
Michelle sat up. “Okay, I don’t understand this. Why are you still married to me if you hate me so much? Why do you stay? Why are we still married? I don’t understand you anymore.”
Lucius got up from the bed and went to sit on the plastic chair near the window. “Where is she, Michelle?”
“Where is who?” Michelle asked, faking innocence.
“You know who I’m talking about, damnit.” He stood up. “Was it your plan, to get rid of her and then seduce me? Are you trying to make me bond with you so that it’ll be harder for us to leave each other when Emma returns.”
Michelle started laughing. “You’re so delusional. She left you. Why on earth would she come back? That woman is never going to come back. Casey told you that she can feel that Emma is alive and okay, right? If she’s okay, why doesn’t she come back to you? Get it into your head, Lucius Bradford. She no longer wants you. She probably found another alpha who will simp for her.”
Lucius was by the side of the bed within seconds. He wanted to punch Michelle but he refrained against it. “I don’t believe you.”
He went back to his seat and stared at Michelle who was laughing at him.
“Why do you love her so much anyway?” Michelle asked.
“You wouldn’t understand. I don’t think you’ve ever loved anyone other than yourself.”
Michelle stood up from the bed. “Look at all this. Can’t believe you will let go of this just like that.”
“Yeah, you can’t because you can barely think beyond looks. It’s one of the reasons no one wants you.”
Michelle went towards Lucius and punched him on the nose. Lucius stood up and punched her as well. Because he was stronger, the punch was so heavy that it sent her staggering back with a shocked look on her face. She probably didn’t think he would hit her like that.
“Get out,” he said.
With one last look at him, she left the room.
“You’ll regret this,” she told him via mind link.
Michelle was angry. She passed by the kitchen, poured herself a glass of water and finished all of it in one gulp. When she was done, she threw the glass down and left the room while it shattered into hundreds of pieces. She glared at the large bed as she stripped of the tight lingerie. She nearly tore the bottom piece out of frustration when it wouldn’t move down her thighs smoothly. Pulling aside the covers, she got into bed with her phone in hand. She dialled Axel’s number. At first, he did not pick up but Michelle wasn’t about to stop. She needed a man who could talk her through what she wanted to do. Her right hand was already moving between her thighs.
She dialled the number again. This time, he received the call.
“Sweetheart,” she began.
“What do you want?”
“Ohhh, someone is in a mood.”
“Tell me what you want Michelle. I don’t have time for games.”
Michelle was irritated by his tone but she smiled and spoke in the sexiest tone. “I miss you so much, Axel. Don’t you miss me too?”
“I miss hitting people, and if you don’t stop talking nonsense, I will come there and hit you. Pretty sure Lucius wouldn’t defend you after what you did to his beloved.”
“Shut up.”
“Yeah, whatever. Anyway, I’m still looking for that woman. It’s so strange that she hasn’t been spotted anywhere but I’m sure I’ll soon find her. I can’t wait to finally end her pathetic life.”
“I don’t care anymore,” Michelle said before hanging up.
She looked through her contacts, looking for someone who might be interested. Then she saw it. Mr. Miller.
She smiled, hoping that Jenezel was not with him.
