Ridian.
No alpha that I knew of had ever walked out of the coronation of their Luna but I did. If I had stayed there, my fury would have driven me to doing things that I’d have regretted. It was better for me to leave there immediately because I didn’t even want to look at her. I loved Cilla but she had crossed the line. How dare she disrespect me in front of the whole pack?
After our morning session, I thought she had decide to accept that Moonshine pack was now annexed to ours and we were going to be in charge of it. I could understand that she still had her reservations but I didn’t like the fact that she rejected my gift in public, in front of everyone including a few representatives from Moonshine pack.
What this would do to my reputation was worse than what relinquishing Moonshine pack silently without giving a reason would have done. Now if I let it go, everyone would know that it was because my wife did not want it. I was going to be known as the weak alpha. While it was a bit unfair, the law stated that I was higher in heirachy compared to my luna.
“I think she didn’t mean it,” David told me as walked towards the river. i didn’t say anything to him, but just sat on my favourite large rock and stared at the flowing water.
“It doesn’t matter,” I said. “She said it. I think I have become too soft. If anyone had dared to talk to me like that in the past, I’d have snapped their neck.”
“A luna makes the alpha stronger, and also softer. Having a good luna teaches you to love, and softens you a bit but that’s not a bad thing. Being an alpha comes with a lot of strong and dominant energy. This energy is good but can be very harmful if left unchecked. Having too much of that energy will not let you enjoy life and therefore reducing your happiness.
That’s where the luna comes in. she is soft with warmer energy. Her feminine energy balances the masculine energy in the alpha. It creates a balance since she also needs to interact with the masculine energy from an alpha. When the opposing energy balances out, it makes the two of you stronger. You have to work together to lead the pack effectively, especially now that you’re bonded together forever.”
I sighed. “You’re right but I’m not going to be the one to start the conversation this time. I can’t even bear to look at her.”
“You have to work things out for the good of the pack,” David insisted.
“No, you don’t.” a voice said.
I turned and saw Jamila approaching us. “Pardon my intrusion, alpha. But I need to talk to you both.”
I turned and faced her. David was standing by my side. “What is it?”
“Your relationship with the luna is causing a lot of chaos in the pack,” she began. I frowned but didn’t interrupt her. “You two either work on your issues or separate.”
I jumped off the rock. “Where’s this coming from?”
“For the last few days when you two were separated, there was a lot of instability in the pack. Things haven’t been totally right and I was getting worried that the defences I put up were getting destroyed. But from today morning, things started to feel right. I even felt stronger but after your recent fight, I feel that things will be bad again.”
“I know that when the alpha and luna have marked each other, their bond strengthens the pack, and when they have issues, it could grow weaker but it is never that serious.” David said. “It’s not something that causes a huge threat like you’re saying.”
“Well, I don’t know why it’s so serious this time, but I have no reason to lie to you both. You can choose to believe me or not. I’m just trying to do my job here. Now it’s up to the three of you, including the luna to fix things.”
“By fixing, what exactly do you want us to do?”
“You either solve your problem with the luna and make her happy so you can be together or you severe the bond.”
“That’s crazy,” I said. “That can’t be the only solution.”
“It is.”
“Why don’t I believe you, Jamilla?” I asked, looking directly into her eyes. She seemed to falter a bit but regained her composure quickly. I was starting not to trust her. “I will consult with another witch.”
“Are you fxcking serious? After everything I have done for you, how can you doubt me? I can’t believe this. You are the most ungrateful piece of sh*t, Ridian Jami-.”
Before she could finish the name, a hot slap had landed across her cheek. She glared at me while rubbing it. “Just because my wife disrespected me and I did nothing doesn’t mean I’ll let everyone disrespect me. You should never talk to me like that ever again because the consequences will be grim.”
“You’re making a big mistake, Ridian Jamison.” She said, twisting her face. “I’m a witch and I can see many things. Things in the past, present and future. Your pride and the mistake to stay with that luna will be downfall. I don’t know if there was a glitch or something but she comes with a lot of bad luck. She is going to destroy this pack. I have seen it in my visions. You may act like I’m a fool now but one day, you will remember this day. You will remember my words and wished you had listened to me.”
“Okay, Jamilla,” David said. “Thanks for the warning. You can leave now.”
I looked at him and could see the judgement in his eyes. He probably wanted to say I had made a mistake and gone too far with the witch whose spells we relied on for many things including safeguarding our territory.
I didn’t care if he didn’t approve of my slap. Jamila had no right to speak to me like that.
Now, I needed to find a new witch. After that altercation, I knew I couldn’t rely on Jamilla anymore.
