“Boys, whenever you’re finished with your smooching session, I really do think Amos should look into the wingman’s back wound. You’re dripping, and it’s staining the ground.”
He was still kissing my lips holding me close to him when I hear Grey calling out for us. He was making me unlatched myself from his kiss.
“That guy, just says the word and he will be shredded.” Ranulf groaned when I backed away from him.
“I’ll introduce you to him, he just needs a playmate. He’s bored.” I patted his bare chest, but then cursed when I saw the wound and the blood trailing down his side.
He let his wings down revealing us back to our surroundings, but then he groaned as the movement appeared to make him hunched down in pain.
“Shit! Grey, please…”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Come on birdman let’s get you fixed.” Grey laughed at his own joke, while Ranulf seemed to had just realized that his wound was serious.
“Maven, go get Maven… I need…” he was struggling with his words when he finally fainted.
“Shit!”
“Yeah, come on… we need to hurry. Grant is on his way with the car, and I already called Amos, he should already be at the packhouse.”
Grey helped me with Ranulf when Grant finally arrived in his car. He was losing a lot of blood, and he was getting really pale. I hated this useless feeling, every time… every fucking time.
“Hey, chill… he’ll be fine. He’s a fallen angel they’re far more resilient than any of us.” Grey was right, I had looked into it a couple of hours ago when I was bored and had the whole pack’s library at my disposal. And there was no poison, I know he would heal. But I was hoping that at least he wouldn’t faint, and I didn’t have to worry so much.
“I know… it’s just…”
“You should really stop worrying about stuff. And let it all falls into place. Try to accept things as they are.”
I could never understand how Grey could always see the bright side of things. I envied how he could easily make everyone feel at ease, including me that finally nodded to his words.
We arrived at the packhouse in minutes, he helped me with Ranulf to my old room. I try to focus on him and relax when I saw Amos already placing his stuff on the coffee table. There were no questions, Grey must’ve had explained to him already from his previous call.
“Come on, let’s leave him with Amos. He knows what he’s doing. You look like you need something strong.”
“I’m… oh fuck it! I’m following you, Grey, I’m useless pacing around, worrying myself about him.”
He was grabbing the ice, then pouring the malt almost to the brim. I gulped it down eagerly, welcoming the burning sensation to my throat and the light buzz that it gave me.
“Woah, slow down there sailor… we’re here to unwind not to get drunk, I’m still babysitting you.” Grey said, while he starts drinking from his glass.
“Right, I’m just parched.” I finally grinned at him.
Grant joined us moments later, he was looking tired already.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked trying to take my mind off of my hellish king who was still being treated. I was feeling the lightness, as I finish off my drink and telling Grey to fill my glass again. He shook his head but refill it regardless, then he took another glass and serve our Alpha with the golden liquid.
“It’s June, she has a kid hidden from her pack. She’s afraid that they will take him. It’ll definitely make matters more difficult, she’s resting now, Laurie is with her at the moment.” He sighed and drink the malt, looking like he needed it.
“But she’s beautiful man, and you’re drooling every time she’s near.” Grey teased, making me laugh again. I was slowly feeling better until Amos joined us. My heart was beating faster, but then relax instantly when he smiled at me.
“So he will be fine?”
“He will, he’s healing fast. He’s been asking for you, intensely. You should go to him or he’ll get up and ruin my best work.”
Grey smirked at me while giving Amos a glass of malt.
“Okay, I’m gone. Thank you for everything.” I said to everyone there.
Still feeling nervous I entered the room quietly, he was laying on his stomach. Amos was telling the truth, he was looking better.
“Your healer, he’s very good at what he does.” Ranulf’s voice was croaked.
“Hey, you…”
“Why did you leave?” he raised his hand reaching out for me to lay by his side.
I rest next to him, with my head on my pillow facing him as he stroked my jaw slowly.
“I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you more, and… I’ve been feeling like I’m one of your harems, just waiting for you to come back.”
“You’re not…”
“But it felt like it.”
“Rain… I love you.”
“I love you too, but I don’t know how to do this.”
“I wish you would. I’m a scorned being, and I expect too much from you. But I need you.”
“Ranulf…”
“Can we talk about this later, can’t you just love me? I need you.”
He was pulling me in for a kiss, the past few days I have been missing him so much. And I didn’t realize that I needed him, maybe as much as he needed me.
His hand rests on my neck holding me close, and our lips molded together. I was savoring him, he was pulling my body flat to his.
“Ran your wound…”
But he groaned to my protest and cupped my ass making me moaned in return.
“Mine, please be mine…” he said as his hand trail down under my shirt, and harshly tugging it making few buttons popped off. His wants were obvious, but I was still resisting because of his wound.
Yet he was not letting me backed down when he started licking and kissing my neck. Then he trails his kisses down to my bare chest, I moaned his name when he bites nipples deliciously.
“Rain, you’re making me want to ravish you. I’ve missed you, so fucking much.”
“We need to slow down, Amos already warned me that you could ruin his work. You might tear your wound again.” I kissed him back, then got up from the bed.
He whined in disappointment but quickly smirked when he sees me stripping down to my briefs.
“We should sleep, you need to get better.”
“You can’t expect me to just sleep, with you wearing that?”
“You’re not popping off, or shredding anymore of my clothing. This is safer, here… we could cuddle.”
I heard him chuckle as he spooned me from behind. That night we did more than cuddle, and miraculously his wound was still intact the morning after.
