Chapter 220 He Is Back

Book:You Are Smothering Me, Handsome Published:2024-5-1

Zoe did not come to see Serina. Zoe came there with her mother because Zoe’s cousin’s child was hospitalized.
Without Derek in the Webber Group, Darnell and Zoe could only count on Zoe’s cousin.
Thus, Zoe had to visit her cousin since his child was hospitalized.
Zoe didn’t expect that she would run into Serina there.
“Ms. Serina?” Zoe still looked arrogant. She walked over to Serina in her high heels.
Zoe had heavy makeup on her face, which seemed to cover up her slightly tired face.
Serina had no choice but to stop and turn to look at Zoe. “What do you want from me?”
“We know each other, right? Isn’t it natural to say hello to someone I know? You seem tense, Ms. Serina. Are you afraid of me?” Zoe raised her eyebrows.
“Afraid of you? Why? Because there’s a monster hiding under your human skin? Or because you are a cannibal? Why should I be afraid of you?” Serina could be mean when facing annoying people.
Zoe was dumbfounded by Serina’s words. She smiled coldly. “Ms. Serina, I heard that you and Derek have patched things up?”
“It’s none of your business. I’d like to keep it to myself.”
“Last time in the restaurant, you saw us too. I was with Derek. To be exact, the two of us were always together.” Zoe looked arrogant.
“What’s your point?” Serina’s face remained unchanged. She didn’t seem interested in what Zoe had said.
Zoe didn’t see this coming.
“Ms. Serina, we are all grown-ups. There is nothing that we can’t talk about. Derek and I have been together for almost three and a half years. After he dumped you, he had been with me.”
Serina grinned and said, “If you want to tell me about your romantic history, I’m sorry that I’m not interested. If there’s nothing else you wanna talk about, I’ll just leave.”
With that, Serina turned around and was about to go.
“Wait a minute! Aren’t you curious about how far Derek and I have gone?” Zoe asked anxiously.
“What does that have to do with me?”
“You don’t have to pretend to be calm. Each woman will be jealous when hearing her man being with another woman.” Zoe snorted. “Derek and I have been together for three and a half years. Don’t you think something would have happened between us?”
“Again, what does it have to do with me?”
Serina quickly turned around and did not want to stay with Zoe even for one more second.
“To be honest, things went smoothly between Derek and me. Derek also said he felt better when being with me. Since you are just a nobody, even Derek wondered what he saw in you back then.”
Serina ignored Zoe. Instead, she went upstairs and went straight to Cherry’s ward.
Looking at Serina’s back, Zoe could not help but sneer. How could Serina not linger on what Zoe had just said?
However, why was Serina in the Children’s Hospital?
It made Zoe curious.
Just as Zoe was about to leave, two nurses walked over.
“I’ve been exhausted these past few days. I was supposed to take some days off. Yet I couldn’t leave because of the food poisoning in the kindergarten. It’s so annoying.”
“I heard that there was a child in the kindergarten who was in a serious condition. She even ended up in the ICU? Is that true?”
“That’s true. Her mom is a single mom. How pitiful! She doesn’t have a man by her side. I also secretly asked around. The single mother is a network novelist. Her job is well-paid and she looks pretty. I just don’t know why she doesn’t have a man by her side.”
When Zoe heard that, she suddenly related to someone. A network novelist? A single mother?
Although Zoe was not sure whether Serina had a child or not, Zoe knew Serina was a network novelist!
What was more, Serina just showed up in the hospital. She seemed to be holding a laptop. It seemed that Serina wasn’t here to visit someone since nobody would bring a laptop when visiting patients.
Zoe immediately caught up with the two nurses and asked, “Nurse, in which ward is the child you were talking about?”
The two nurses were puzzled by Zoe’s abrupt question.
“Don’t get me wrong. I’m here to see the child. I heard that my friend’s child was hospitalized due to food poisoning. It’s quite serious. I didn’t get through the call, so I wanted to ask around.”
“Oh, you mean the child who entered the ICU?” The nurse asked.
“Yes, that child.”
“She is no longer there. She is out of danger now. She’s doing well. Her ward is upstairs, 506 or 507. You can go and see for yourself.”
“Alright, thank you both.”
Zoe smiled and went upstairs quietly.
Zoe searched carefully and indeed found the ward. Serina was standing outside with her back to the door, and Derek was inside!
A little girl was standing on the side of the bed, and there was another one on the bed!
Twins?!
Serina was so damn lucky. Did she give birth to a pair of twins for Derek?
Zoe wondered if Derek went back to Serina because he knew that Serina had delivered the twins.
Zoe thought a lot. She did not go in but left directly.
At the very least, Zoe had got big news that Serina had given Derek a pair of twins!
The conversation with Zoe made Serina very upset.
Serina had just pushed open the door of the ward when she saw Derek sitting by the bed coaxing Cherry while Blueberry was standing aside, silent. Hayden was also there.
“Dad, how did you know I like Barbie dolls?” Cherry blinked her big eyes.
“Of course, I know it. I also know that you like Hello Kitty, right?” Derek sat at the bedside. He looked tired, yet his smile was warm.
“Yes! I like Hello Kitty. I also like flower fairies and giraffes. Oops, Dad, I saw a big giraffe in the mall last time. Several small giraffes were hanging on the neck of the big giraffe. I’m so into them.”
Speaking of that, Cherry pouted. “But Mommy wouldn’t buy them for me.”
“Why not?”
“Mommy said that there are too many toys at home. Daddy, I’ll tell you this secretly. In fact, I think Mommy didn’t buy them for me because she thought they were too expensive!”
Cherry carefully moved closer to Derek’s ear. “Mommy is very stingy. Every time she takes me and Blueberry to the mall, we are only allowed to pick one toy at most.”
Cherry stretched out a finger and said to Derek mysteriously.
“I will buy you whatever you like in the future,” Derek said with a smile.
“Really?” Cherry’s eyes lit up.
