Chapter 46

Book:Will You Ever Be Mine?! Published:2024-5-1

You calm my mind and set my heart on fire. You are a beautiful combination.
……
“Come on, Kath. You don’t have to do this. I can go alone”, protested Laura. Laura has been saying this all day but Kathleen wasn’t backing off from her original plan. She is not gonna let anyone hurt Laura and she would do anything to keep her safe from Beverly and the other bitches.
On the other hand, Laura felt guilty for dragging kathleen into this when she had enough issues to handle. Laura can never forgive herself if something happens to kathleen in the party and vice versa. Kathleen can never forgive herself if something bad happened to Laura because of her ignorance.
Anyways, a good friend is someone who love their friend, who stand by them no matter what, whom protects their soul. In truth, in this changing and cruel world, they are a rare beauty. So, when people find one, treasure them as much as they treasure us. Stay in one another’s hearts even if you both travel separate paths.
“Yes, Laura. I must do this”, muttered kathleen adjusting her black slash neck slinky dress that revealed her right shoulder completely.
“No…. Kathleen… I just feel guilty for dragging you into this….”, mumbled Laura and pull out a red belted midi dress from her wardrobe.
“Don’t break your heart just by overthinking this little thing”, kathleen tried to convince Laura.
“And never feel guilty in doing what’s best for you and trust me Laura, I have no regret in attending a party. And it’s a been a really long time ever since I attended a real party. So cheer up, it’s showtime babs”, kathleen winked and apply some mascara to her eyes making it look smoking hot.
“Why do you have to wear black all the time kath?”, Janice sank into her bed, finally it was Saturday. She planned on spending all day with kathleen and Laura, chatting, venting, laughing and watching out a movie together. She thought it would the perfect girls night but unfortunately kathleen and Laura had to attend Beverly’s party and Janice had to stay all alone in the room.
The room was a complete mess and it didn’t matter to her, she would do it after the girls leave for the party. Janice planned to do laundry together, similarly she had the idea of cleaning their room and Janice had assignments to work upon, and she has got time for all her chores until the girls come back.
“The relationship between me and my black clothes is a love story that can’t be explained in words”, grinned kathleen making Janice scoff at her comment.
All these time, Laura was hiding behind a mask, like she was happy, coping up the conversation and laughing at the right time. She couldn’t be honest with her friend and her heart ached as kathleen was doing this only for Laura. Janice could clearly see that Laura was stressing out herself.
“Laura, if you stress too much about something before it happens, you basically put yourself through it twice. And I feel like you are doing that to yourself right now and come on relax. For God’s sake we all knew kathleen for better, if someone stand against her she will destroy them for sure”, Janice tell her and Laura nodded.
“So, Laura and Kathleen just stick together, enjoy the party to the fullest and leave once it’s twelve. And Kath, Beverly will definitely try her tricks on you, beware of Beverly and her girls”, stated Janice and the girls mouthed a yes with nod.
“Jay, what are you gonna do for the rest of the day?”, questioned kathleen, painting her lips red.
“For now, I’m just not interested to do anything. Literally I’m tired”, Janice rolled to the other side of the bed.
“Kath, the cab has arrived. Come on let’s go”, urged Laura and Kathleen threw pillows at Janice making her shout. Laura and Kathleen left Janice alone for the evening.
……..
“Bev, atleast tell us now about your plan? Why do you have to invite kathleen and the stupid girl, Laura?”, grunted Arlie slipping into pink lace bodycon dress that revealed everything she was wearing within.
“Something to humiliate her maybe”, Beverly smirked checking out her wardrobe to find something to wear for the night.
“In what ways exactly?”, Claudia found her navy blue wrap bodycon dress revealing her right leg and the cut extended from her thighs to the foot.
“I just want her to feel humiliated in such a way that she should never step into the campus again”, hissed Beverly.
As so many girls fear Beverly for the person she was. She was cruel, evil, dangerous, and emotionally cold, like she had no emotions at all. She was the kind of person who do anything to defame a person and if she hated someone she would erase their existence from that particular place.
Everyone has their own reasons for being who they really are. And Beverly had hers as well. But she never told people about her past or why she acted bitchy all the time. EJ do, he knew her past but he never took it a reason for her behavior.
Almost everyone get passed their troubles and get matured by the years while the others get stuck on a sort of basic mode of fear and reactions, that really change the person who they used to be. Beverly was such a victim of troubled parents and past.
She never really got a loving responses from any single person ever since she was born. The day she was born, she was abandoned by her mother and she grew up all alone in a large mansion that his father owned. Her father never really liked children and he hated her mother for leaving him behind with her.
Her mother walked out of the home saying that she can never live with a man like him. His father showed no emotions at all. And Beverly’s mother feared her daughter would become like the man she hated. Though, she wanted to take Beverly along with her, she can’t do that. Then his father would track her down just to get back his daughter and her mother never wanted to keep anything that links her to the otis family.
To the right opposite, Beverly’s father hated her and he never really had the love for his own daughter. Likewise, Beverly never really had emotions other than hate, cruelty, darkness and wickedness.
Her father decided to send her off to foster homes while she was ten. She was a rebellious kid, she never liked being taken care by the maids and she never really had someone to talk to. She just damage things that she gets in hand when she becomes angry, frustrated and annoyed.
Her grandfather, Wander Otis was the most popular business tycoon of his times and he doesn’t want his son to send away his only daughter Beverly. Her grandfather wanted someone after his son to look after their family business and he thought Beverly was the right choice. Wander otis passed away while Beverly was twelve and he invested shares under her name and registered his own properties under Beverly’s name.
Beverly never made friends that easily, she hated children who were poor, substandard particularly and bullied them right from when she was small. When a girl had money and fancy clothes and car then that was everything Beverly wanted a friend to have. She needed someone who looked good, she never made friends with the nerd girls or the one who looked not pretty as her and she liked it when the others compliment her, follow her around and laugh at her jokes. And she would anything and everything to the girls who had the following qualities for achieving her friendship. All her friends were as bad and evil as her.
As long as the girls follow her lead and listen to everything she said, she considered them as her friends, if they fail she threw them away from her world. Beverly chats nonsense in her own way and the girls had to listen to all that shit just to be in her good books.
She never told people about her life and sufferings that she went through and she never liked it when others try to show concern, empathy and drop in helpful suggestions. She always had an attitude that spoke enough about her and no one could literally stop that bad bitch. The middle school and high school that she studied in was a part of his father’s management and no one could do anything to her.
She wanted to be the centre of everyone’s attention and she had enough beauty and attitude to achieve it. She never dated guys throughout her high school as she never liked pathetic poor boys, she was searching for a man who would match her in attitude and wealth and she had set qualifications for someone to be her boyfriend.
Things changed for her when she stepped into college. She joined hands with Arlie and Claudia who were exactly the person Beverly wanted them to be. Soon, the girls had formed a sisterhood, an evil space in which they could be a complete bitch and destroy the ones they hated without even sparing a gaze at them. In the first few days of the her freshman, people were scared of her and she had long sought dominance over all other students in the campus.
She wasn’t a girl who would take decisions absent minded and she uses people for her own personal gain. People would call her the bad “bitch,” but that never really bothered her and kept walking around the campus like she owned the place. She wasn’t a girl worth loving and her world turned upside down when she met EJ. She was in her sophomore year while he joined here in the university as freshman.
She wanted him to love her so badly and she want him all to herself but EJ never liked such desperate girls. She had no self-respect when it comes to EJ and she would act like she was lovely soul infront of him while he was aware of the truth. She would follow him wherever he goes and will never let him enjoy his solitude. She was so much in love with him and she wanted to be loved back, that’s all she needs.
But the campus feared EJ more than Beverly and it didn’t bother her as he was the one she was in love with.
Maybe she didn’t think that at the start and she dunno that one day she will face a girl who was as bad as her and even more. Kathleen.
“Huh?? what really do you have in mind?”, Arlie questioned Beverly with a confused look that never left her face.
“Capturing her in my cameras!”, Beverly stare back at the girl in the mirror who was wearing a retro swirl mini wrap dress that was really short and revealed most of her cleavage.
“Why do you have to click her picture in your camera?”, huffed Claudia.
“Claudia and Arlie, tell me how will you guys feel when your pictures, especially naked ones are posted on the college page?”, she asked them with a evil smile.
“That would be so… so… humiliating. Like I would die, I can never imagine such a thing”, panicked Arlie.
“Seeing my naked pictures on the internet is the last thing I ever wanted to witness. I would definitely be mortified and it is like my worst nightmare coming true. Like you said I would never show up to the classes again”, signed Claudia and Beverly let out a chortle.
“Hold on. How are you going to do this to her?!”, Arlie marched towards Beverly’s side.
“Mix drugs in her drink. We will make her drink that without her knowledge and distract her stupid friend Laura and take her to an empty room. We don’t have to do anything here. I have made necessary arrangements and we have got boys to do that”, explained Beverly.
“Well that sounds like a plan”, smirked arlie. Beverly hated kathleen for making EJ fall for her while Beverly couldn’t succeed in that. And kathleen was the centre of attention in the campus right now. So she wanted to destroy Kathleen before it’s too late and she still believes that EJ will love her someday.
“I’ll make a call now”, saying that Beverly made a quick call but the person doesn’t answer it even when tried calling him the fifth time. She tries calling an another person.
“Zach, hand over your phone to EJ. I have something important to tell him”, Beverly grunted and Zach obeyed her commands.
“What do you want?!”, EJ sounded angry and this made her smile.
“You know what….! I’m organizing a party by six in the evening and you are not invited. But Kathleen is. I have planned surprises for my new friend. Thought maybe you deserved to know. Just Don’t come here”, she hung up with a chortle. Rage overtook in him on hearing out Beverly.
……
As evening casts it’s dusky gown, and the air becomes fresh and restful, it was Saturday’s eve, the time to party around has arrived. For in the cab has dropped kathleen and Laura in the right corner of the first street and from there they decided to walk to Beverly’s penthouse, which was like walking into our own hell. The party was quite a nightmare to a few like Laura while for others it was something pleasurable.
There was a loud thumping music bursting out of the house, the more closer Laura and Kathleen, the more clearer was the picture. Mostly everyone is drunk/tipsy, with a very few girls in clusters sitting around outside either making out with boys of their age, other few dancing somewhere, drinking or just talking.
The house was provided with decorations, a sound system and a dancing area was left open for the others to enjoy the eve. Laura and Kathleen step inside the house to find it hot and sticky, bustling with people and Kathleen recognized very few of them and part of the place was dark. Some people were faking as if getting drunk and there are few girls taking their shirts off.
As for the people in this crowded area, there were many others who were totally grown-ups and they don’t go to college of course. Laura considered this party to be empty and useless. As they stepped into the god-awful mess party, they noticed people looking over their direction and they ignore them trying to concentrate on the music playing in the background.
