TWO YEARS LATER
Amy
I finally dash down the stairs after staying in the bathroom for almost half an hour staring at the results of the pregnancy test. I am afraid that I might be too excited and this may be a fake result. For all the two years of being married to Jace, we have been trying to get pregnant. After the first year of so much trying and disappointments, I gave up the hope of having a baby with Jace.
Everything has been going great in our marriage and the entire pack, but one thing has been lacking. Jace has always convinced me that it doesn’t matter if we have a baby or not but I would notice how he looked at parents around the castle. Jose and Sophia had their first child, Bella last year. Patrick and Alexa’s boy is almost two years now. There are so many kids around this place and it hurts being the only one unable to have one.
Reaching downstairs, I find Jace and Jose giving instructions to the engineer who is handling the construction of the Pack’s hospital. Jace is planning to build it so that pack members can be able to get urgent medical attention at a low fee. Last year he set up nursery for the children in the pack to have their early academic training.
He is trying to make readjustments in the pack which are all for the better. I am really proud of his hard work. He really works hard for the good of the pack. I hope this news will cheer him up.
“Amy?” Jace calls me from the end of the stairs where I have been standing waiting impatiently for him to finish. I just give him a small smile and he stands up.
“The rest of the work is in your hands,” he tells the engineer and shakes his hand.
“Your plans are in good hands. Trust me, sir,” the engineer responds. Jose shows him out and Jace walks to me with a curious look.
“What is the matter? You look like you have something to tell me,” he says. He stands in front of me and examines me with his eyes for clues. I reach him and wrap my hands around his neck.
“I will be in our room waiting for you, DADDY!” I whisper into his ear. His face frowns in confusion for a second and then his eyes go wide. Before he can process my words, I break free from him and run up the stairs. He follows behind me with a huge grin on his face.
I enter the bedroom and he closes the door behind him. I sit on the bed and he sits beside me.
“You look very excited,” he says while tracing my lips with his fingers.
“I have some good news for you, daddy,” I tell him and he licks his lips.
“Hmm.. I love my new name,” he says with an evil look in his eyes.
“Not that, you pervert,” I swat his arm and he smiles.
“Oh, I was starting to get all ready and excited.”
“I meant this.” I slowly put the pregnancy test. His jaw literally drops to the floor. I smile nervously when the thought hits me that he might not like it. Maybe he doesn’t want to have children yet.
“Are you sure this is a reliable test?” he asks me.
“You can’t be sure a hundred percent, but I am late for my period by three weeks,” I reply. He stares at me as if I have grown two heads. My smile slowly declines.
He gets off the bed and stands in front of me.
“Don’t you want to have the baby?” I ask in a small dying voice and twist my wedding band nervously around my finger.
“What? Are you kidding me?” he says and a huge grin covers his face. I am sure I was on the verge of breaking into tears if he had said something negative.
“The test just caught me off guard. I know we have been trying a lot for the past two years to have a baby but this one really surprised me. I was still wondering who to boast about the news first,” he tells me and my smile returns. He carries me off the bed and swings me around. I shriek into giggles knowing that my husband will finally be a father. I am sure he will be a great dad.
“I am in seventh heaven right now. You have no idea how happy you make me. Every day with you as my wife is a new blessing to my life. I love you so much, Amy,” he tells me in a sincere sweet voice that makes my heart swoon.
“I love you, Jace,” I tell him. He leans closer to my face and his lips crush on mine, pulling me into a deep passionate kiss. Oh, my man can kiss! I will never get enough of feeling how good his mouth is.
FIVE YEARS LATER
Jace
“Daddy watch out!” Jeremy, my five year-old old son, is shouts from the other side of the bed. Before I can stand aside, his big toy truck knocks my toes and falls on its side.
“Ouch!” I yelp in pretend pain. Jeremy’s face frown in pity.
“I tried to warn you,” he says and guilt fills his face.
“Gotcha!” I yell as I jump onto the bed and grab him by the arm.
“I faked it!” I tell him and put him on the bed. He starts giggling as I drive his toy truck over his belly.
“Boys?” Amy calls us. We immediately stop our childish play and stand upright. We try to organize the bed but it won’t be as neat as Amy left it.
“We are in trouble,” Jeremy murmurs under his breath as his mother opens the door. She enters with our three year-old beautiful girl, Evelyn who is all dressed to kill.
“Well, hello angel,” I say with a raised eyebrow as I walk to my young model.
“Daddy!” she shrieks with excitement and runs to me. I catch her in my hands and swing her through the air while she giggles.
“Hurry up. We are going to be late,” Amy says while grabbing her purse.
“I will get the door for you,” Jeremy runs to open the door. I know he is trying to distract his mom from noticing we just made. He takes his smarts from me.
“I will go with daddy,” Eve says.
“Ofcourse,” I respond and lift her into my arms.
Today is the wedding day of Amy’s mother and her fiancé Bruce. We have all been invited including my entire family.
If you are wondering what happened when I went to meet her with Amy on my coronation day, I will tell you. The first shock was when Amy told her that she had moved in with me. She took that lightly and said that she trusted me with her daughter. We told her that there was an event at my place that evening and she said she was okay to attend. She wanted to meet my family, she said.
When we drove her to the castle, she looked suspiciously at me.
“Are you sure this is the place?” she asked Amy who assured her that it is.
Just know things weren’t easy explaining to her about my identity. She kept asking me if I was a prince because the place looked like a palace. I told her the truth. My my father was an Alpha king so it kind of makes sense that I am a prince. I told her that I was going to be crowned Alpha King that day and she didn’t believe me.
We took her to our room and told her the whole truth. We didn’t even leave behind the truth about Dwayne and how he had kidnapped Amy. She didn’t believe me until I did a transformation infront of her. She was scared at first but mostly astounded. She didn’t run away. She stayed for the ceremony and watched her daughter being crowned Alpha Queen.
She stayed for the weekend in the castle and watched me propose to Amy. She supported us and embraced my family knowing exactly what they are. She seems to be more close to Amy than her father. I only met Amy’s father on our engagement party and our wedding. He even came to visit when our children were born.
Amy’s mom used to visit us at least twice a year but after her grandchildren came, she visits almost twice every month. She is so close to me and treats me like her own son. My children are very lucky to have her as their grandmother.
Outside, my family is ready to leave. I stand beside the car and watch Amy as she puts the children in the car and makes sure they sit safely. She puts her hands on her hips when she finds me staring.
“I was just admiring my beautiful wife, that’s all,” I tell her and a smile spreads across her face.
“Shall we go?” she asks me.
“Ofcourse,” I respond. I lift her of the ground into my arms and she giggles. She swats my arm.
“What are you doing?” she inquires with a shy smile.
“Carrying you over the threshold,” I reply with a smirk and she grins. I glance behind me and find my family standing beside their cars staring at us with smiles on their faces.
Just doing my thing, I tell them through the pack mind and walk to the other side of the car and put my darling wife in her seat. Her cheeks have flushes a beautiful shade of pink because of blushing. The kids are grinning from where they are sorted in the behind seats.
YEAH. I LOVE MY LIFE!
