Jace
I had assured myself that I was dead but the feel of my girl’s gorgeous lips on mine awakens every cell in my body. I pull her closer to me and engulf my arms around her. This has been a really tough day and night for both of us and I am very glad that we still have each other. Amy pulls away from the kiss and looks me in the eyes.
She runs her fingers down my collar bone to my chest. She looks so weak. She must be very exhausted. She has been in this place since yesterday morning and has spent the whole night awake. That is why her lips are pale and her face looks weary.
“Amy,” I lift my hand so that I can trace her face with my fingers. She leans her face into my hands, submitting to my touch.
“Have you been hurt? Anywhere?” I ask her and she shakes her head slowly in response.
“I am fine. I am just worried about you,” she tells me.
“You don’t have to worry about me. I will be able to heal quickly because of my werewolf ability,” I tell her and she gives me a small smile.
“I still can’t believe it. That you are a werewolf as well as your family. Everything that just happened. It is still raw in my mind,” she says.
“I know that it maybe very hard to believe but everything is real. I intended to tell you the, trust me, but I was still waiting for the right time when you would be ready to process the information,” I try to explain to her, hoping she won’t hate me for keeping the secret from her.
“I know I lied to you but it was a lie by omission,” I continue but she silences me by putting her mouth on mine and kissing me again. Is this her way of showing me that she forgives me? I hope so.
“I understand where you are coming from Jace. You never lied to me. There was just no way of telling me. I would never have believed you,” she murmurs against my lips.
“But your life was put in danger because of me.”
“Maybe that was destiny’s way of testing our love for each other. Maybe it was the only way of getting back the justice for yourself and your parents, and all those that had suffered because of Dwayne.”
“You are too good for the world, Amy. The world is so damn ruthless, it does not deserve good people like you,” I tell her.
“I hope I am good enough for you,” she says with a secret smile playing on her face.
“Damn yes! Even the moon goddess had to test my limits to how better I can change to be good enough for,” I respond and she gnaws on her lower lip shyly. How adorable she looks when she blushes.
“You are a very beautiful woman, Amy. Every man would kill to have a woman like you,” I tell her and she chuckles.
“Even after all that has happened, you still have the audacity to crack jokes?” she says tilting her head slightly.
“Why not? At least am not dead,” I say with a smirk, and she swats my arm with a broader smile.
“You look so weak. Have you had anything to eat since morning?” I inquire from her. She shakes her head and my eyes go wide.
“What? Was that pig planning to starve you to death?” I ask her and she giggles.
“Don’t worry. Nelly brought me something to eat. I just couldn’t bring myself to have some food seeing you still unconscious,” she says while looking at the covered plate on a table beside the bed.
“Well, now that I am awake, are you going to have something?”
“Sure,” she replies.
The doctor comes back and does further check ups on me. He tells me that he is from the full moon pack and his Alpha, Dan, summoned him to take care of me and Sophia. Dan also sent for other medical personnel to take care of other warriors that were wounded during the battle.
Amy stays by my side through out the entire process of my check up. She watches quietly and pays attention to every detail of the checkup like the good girl that she is.
Alpha Dan comes to check on me again immediately after the doctor leaves. His face splits into a smile when he finds me awake. When I notice Amy smiling at him, I immediately conclude that he is a good man to be around.
“I see you are making quick recovery,” he says while coming to stand on one side of the ridiculously huge bed.
“I think I owe you my life, Alpha Dan,” I tell him.
“Don’t mention it. Packs should live in harmony. What do we live for if we can not support our kind?” he says.
“Is that why you risk your life and that of your loyal warriors to come and me?”
” Damn! You are so smart. I hated Dwayne very much. I wouldn’t miss the chance to come over and slaughter him when I heard of the battle,” he replies.
“But you stayed behind even after the battle and you are taking care of me and my family?”
“Let’s just say I owed your father a favour.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Your father had been like a brother to me. We were born in different packs and we were both Alphas by blood. We used to meet during pack ceremonies when we were teenagers. Hell! We did a lot of misbehaving together on those ceremonies,” he says. His sense of humor is not lost even as he talks about my long gone father.
“But we both grew in wisdom and leadership mentoring by our parents. That is why we came up to be men of value. When I was still a new Alpha, he helped me defend my pack from an attack from a ruthless neighbouring pack. I owed him a lot. It pained me a lot knowing that he had been killed by Dwayne and I wasn’t able to save him. I was out of the country at that time. I felt so guilty for not being able to defend him like he did for me.
“When the three young men came running to me this evening, I had to escape a pack meeting and come over here with my best warriors. I had to make it up to Cole. That is why I am here now, doing the best that I can.”
“Your help is really appreciated. I promise that I will make it up to you one day,” I tell him but he waves me off.
“You can only make it up to me by standing your ground and being a fearless strong Alpha for the Redclaw pack. This pack has been through enough misery and all they need now is a leader who can stand up for them and mend their broken hearts together. They need someone who will be able to understand them and provide the desired anchor for support,” he tells me with intimidating seriousness in his eyes.
“I will try my best, sir,” I respond and the friendly look returns on his face.
“I know you can do it. If you ever need anything or meet any difficulties in your journey as an Alpha, just call upon me. I will be there for you,” he says in a fatherly tone that makes me smile.
“Thank you, Alpha Daniel,” I tell him.
“No, just call me Dan. I want to ask for a friendly offer if you really want to make it up to me,” he says.
“Anything for you.”
“I really want you to reserve me a special front seat on your Alpha crowning ceremony, ” he says in a whisper. I can’t stop myself from laughing. I had even forgotten that there has to be an Alpha crowning ceremony.
“Sure thing, Dan,” I tell him.
“Good. Now I will be out of here and give you two some private time. Make sure that that beautiful Luna gets some rest,” he says while looking at Amy.
“I very much intend to,” I assure him while pulling Amy closer to me.
After the good after leaves the room, my girl gets off from my lap. My body immediately feels cold from the loss of contact.
“Where are you going?” I ask her.
“To get off this shirt. The blood stain is making it stick to my body.
“Let me help you,” I pull her back, not wanting her to be away from me for a bit. She gives me a shy smile and lets me. I hold the hem of the blouse and slowly lift it over her head. She is wearing a lace white bra which also got the stain.
“Do you want to also take off the bra?” I ask her and she nods. I slowly undo it and free her beautiful full breasts. Hmm… She looks so gorgeous. My body stirs in approval.
“Do you want to shower? I am sure there is a bathroom attached to this room. I will find it if you want to.”
“I will shower if you want join me,” she says with a shy smile and then bites on her lower lip.
“I will join you if you want,” I tell her. I pull her into one last quick kiss and get off the bed to find the bathroom. Amy remains sitting on the bed watching me with a huge grin while I move about naked in the room.
