Ava
After the shock, Sean just gave me that our wedding is going to be tomorrow. I went to the lawyers office. I was on my way as I recalled the moment he told me that the wedding is tomorrow. I cannot believe that it takes tomorrow. How will I prepare everything?
I can’t believe I’m Going to my own wedding tomorrow. I mean, I was the wedding planner after all, and now I’m going to be the bride as well. I don’t know how the people over there are going to react about the news, but it is going to be very bad for me.
But Sean has promised that he will handle everything at his almost best. So I think I should just trust him.
I reached the lawyers office with the advanced payment that Sean just gave me after we signed the papers at the notary. We also get through some details about the contract. He was very peculiar about all the stuff in that paper and I was just wanted to be over with it.
I just want Chris to get out of the jail as soon as possible. I have to focus on that and solely that.
After waiting for over half an hour for the lawyer to come to the office, she arrived and my wait was over. The assistant of the lawyer ordered me to go inside her office.
I knocked onto the lawyers door.
“Come in,” she directed me.
I went in and said my hello to her. “Hello lawyer.” I’m here to pay you the advance for Chris’s hearings at the court.
“Welcome, Miss Eva. Was it? please have a seat.” She directed me politely.
I did not bothered to sit down.
“Here is the payment.” I said as I took out a white envelope from my bag on my shoulder and handed it to her.
She looked a bit shocked at first. But then she took the envelope from my hand and checked it. Her expression was a mix of impressed and shock.
Miss Eva, please have a seat. She said to me politely.
But I just nodded and declined offer.
“There’s no need for me to sit down, miss. I’m just here to inform you that I won’t be in the town for a few days now. Actually, I want your way for a while, but I will come here to meet you often. And I will be in touch with you. And we can discuss all about it on phone. And I will discuss everything about Chris’s hearings to you.” I said to her with an urgency. I mean, of course I’m really short on time since I’m getting married tomorrow. I want this to get over with as soon as possible. So I said all of that to her hastily.
“Oh… Okay. Sure.” She said with a pleasant smile.
“I had one more question. I informed her and then asked her. When Will Chris be released from the jail? And when will all of this be over?” I asked her with concern, lacing my voice.
“If we will be able to sort it out everything correctly. Two to three sessions would be enough. So he will most probably be released in two to three sessions.” She answered confidently. And with a smile. A smile was of a assurance, but I did not feel assured in the least.
Then I remembered something important. Does recordings of the CCTV footage. So I told her that too.
“Miss the recordings of the CCTV footages.” I told her with a little bit of excitement.
She looked at me with a confused expression as if she doesn’t understand anything. So I explained her furthermore.
“I mean to say, if we find out the CCTV footages of the. Street, on which Chris. Stabbed the knife into that man. They might find some evidences. And hence it will be easier for us to prove Chris’s innocence.” I told to her.
She nodded in understanding. “Yes, of course. Undoubtedly we will able to prove everything into the court if we get to represent it once. The meeting will be great, don’t you worry.” She answered me with assurance.
“OK, so how long will the meeting last?” I asked her.
“It can take up to six months, but the maximum will be a year.” She answered truthfully.
“Six months!” I exclaimed and. questioned her incredulously.
“That is in the least dear. Just pray that the man doesn’t die or else we won’t even have a chance.”
“Chris is a closed friend of mine. We have been friends together since childhood. He’s like a family to me. And I trust you with his case. Let’s just hope the best for him.” I said to her with a small smile. But I don’t even know if that came as of a smile. Because, right now I’m really clouded with my thoughts.
“Don’t worry, miss Eva. I will do everything in my hands to prove his innocence even more. If possible.”
She said to me with assurance and then pushed her hand in front of me for me to shake it. And then I shook her hand with a smile.
“Thank you ma’am. I shall take your leave now.” I told her. And started to leave with packing my bag.
“Yes, of course. See you soon.” She said to me with assuring tone and a small smile.
“See you.” i said to her with a small smile
I left the lawyers office. And I packed my bag and everything. Because very soon now anytime I had to leave with Sean for the wedding. For my wedding.
Sean.
For many people it must just be a name. But for me it is an emotion. Which ever soon might become my destruction.
I just have to make sure I don’t fall in love with him. My fake husband. I can’t believe I will be Mrs Sean Dell tomorrow. This is the moment I’m considering all of my life choices I’ve ever made. Or maybe it’s just a nervous attack every bride has.
