Ava
We are Sitting in Sean’s office. He looks as unsure as I am with that statement of mine. But even though I caught him off guard, he gained his composure in a few minutes. And we were back on with The deal.
“Ava.” Sean said to me with so much determination that I melted just because he said my name. This is certainly not the first time he said my name, but every time seems like it is the first time.
“Listen to me.” He said in an all business stone. And I nodded. Showing him that I am hearing him completely and I will oblige to whatever he has to say.
” If we make a deal together, I have one request for you.” I waited patiently for him to go on and looked at him, intensely guessing what he could ask of me. Certainly, he has not to sleep with me. As that is my point I will have to make.
“You will not question anything about this. Or why am I doing what I am doing? The reasons the results everything concerns only and only me.” he said to me, sternly. I have no problem agreeing with this as if the things I was thinking was much worse than. The actual condition.
“That is completely fine with me,” I say with a nod of my head. Looking straight into his eyes. All of this feels very professional to our previous meetings, but it is what it is, right. This is the right thing to do to move on like professionals. Not get stuck on each other feeling like. Children.
“But I request that you don’t ask as well as to why I accepted your offer.” I said to him with a raised brow. And I expected cooperation in this as well. I knew he was going to accept it, but I still raised my brow In challenge.
“So how long is a marriage going to last?” I asked him. Just for assurance as I don’t know the exact time frame. I think you mentioned it but I don’t remember. I have a real poor memory or my mind was just way too busy with all the shit going on in my life. Take out less. I ask him so that I know.
“It can take anywhere up to six months to a year.” He answered me with calmness again. This calmness. I don’t know what to do with his calm and cold personality. Only thing is, I want to see that break. But I don’t know if I’m going to work towards that anymore. As the relationship between us will be fairly professional. Even though I’m marrying him as a job.
The friendship we were starting to have is getting burnt somewhere but that’s alright. Because right now I just need to focus on getting the money and releasing Chris from the cell.
“We will live together for the time period. We are married and everyone should know that we are married. And nobody, not a single soul should doubt it. Once all my Matters are settled Then we both moved to a different path and will never meet each other again.” He said to me again in the all business tone.
This version of Sean is so much different than that night at Café. I missed that Sean on that talked freely around me. Told me about his pet horse.
“But from time to time I have to go to meet my brother at my own home.” I told him. As if that will become a problem but he just nodded. In understanding.
“We can come up with an excuse for it, don’t you worry. It is nothing to worry about.” He said to me.
“Anything else that I should be known of ahead Of the fact that we get married?” I asked him.
“Another important topic is my mother.” He said to me, contemplating my expression and looking at my face constantly to see if I flinch under his. Stare.
I don’t flinch at all. I’m stronger than that. Sean and I match his stare. And, looked him in the eyes.
“What about your mother?” I asked him with curiosity, lacing my voice.
He took a deep breath and looked at me with that undying calmness and said, “Ava, My mother, Matilda Dell, is a very domineering and complex woman.” He did to me as if that is something to be scared of.
He doesn’t realize that I have already met his mother and she wasn’t very keen on me but I am stronger and one arrogant human being can shake my courage.
I narrow my eye at him and said to him with a smile, “You mean to say that she is just like you?”
He laughed at that and shook his head like I am a stupid little kid who needs to be stood straight, I mean I wouldn’t beg to differ, because I am.
“I just want To inform you that she must be against a marriage and she’ll be very angry at us. She will not accept you or our marriage. So yeah, it is going to be very difficult for you. It won’t be easy at all. I want you to make a decision knowing this fact that it is going to be difficult.” He said like a damn good and caring person that I know he is but, sometimes he is just so arrogant I can not seem to stand him.
Don’t worry, I know for a fact that I can handle your mom. I can endure her impatience with the patience of my own, and if not, I’ll try to behave my best with her. I’m sure I can stand her, I mean. Other people have it worse.” I say to him with enthusiasm lacing my voice. Damn it Ava don’t sound so excited he might think that you’ve fallen for him. I think to my self.
“Any thing else?” I ask him.
“Nope, I’ll apply for an contract and then you can check it up later and we can both go through the contract once before signing it.” He says to make carefully and considering all the legal aspects of the contract. I really don’t have any idea about this shit.
“Okay, that’s good for me.” I say to him, with a feeling of right and peace spread through my body. I’m going to marry a stranger so I shouldn’t be feeling like this. So optimistic, so positive and so damn amazing and peaceful. But yet I’m feeling all of those things as I know he is the only person who can help me solve my problems.
I left his office very soon after that. But my eyes can’t seem to leave the aura of that powerful man. He seemed to be imprinted on my soul like a stamp on a paper.
