Chapter 39 Raina’s birthday.

Book:Unexpected Something Published:2024-5-1

Dean knew that his director had never cared about these kind of parties not to mention a party that is hosted by someone he doesn’t know.
Why did he agree to go to such a birthday party today?
Anyways he had no right to ask he just nodded and walked out.
This has to be informed to Raina so as to make special arrangements for the Great CEO of the company.
After getting to know that director Lyle is coming Raina was very happy.
After all Devian was a perfect sculpture carved carefully. Who would not have a fancy for such a man?
Raina quickly started preparing to go early to do some special arrangements for him.

Not only Raina was looking forward for the party. There were people who also got this news.
“Director would be coming, shall we still do this?” Madonna asked.
“He’s coming. It’s gonna be good show.” Andrew spoke confidently “Don’t you want him to hate Arien?”
“Yes, well Miss Jenner, you’re done!” Madonna said with an evil smile in her eyes.

After getting off the work Arien went back home.
Before that she went to buy gifts for Raina.
She ran to her room to get ready.
She was not the type of girl who would spend hours doing make-up. She put a beautiful dress paired it with simple yet exquisite makeup.
She was done and was ready to go pick Jane when she heard Devian’s voice “Mrs Lyle is beautiful”
“Huh?” What kind of complement was that?
Oh come on Arien, he has no experience in praising a women! You’re the first one.
“Thank you” Arien said. “I’ll leave now. I’ll come early. Don’t miss me so much, Mr Lyle.” Arien winked at him playfully.
Devian smiled. “I suppose, Mrs Lyle will miss me more”
“Huh! This man is not a kind I should play around with.” Arien regretted what she said earlier.
“You’ll be late, Mrs Lyle.” He reminded her. “Take this car” Devian passed her the keys.
“Yes, I’ll leave then” Arien took the key and left not knowing which car keys she was holding.
She reached Jane’s house on time.
“Arien you’re so rich!” Jane said while entering into the car.
Only then did Arien realized that she was driving a luxurious Porsche Boxster worth in lakhs.
“Oh this…. I borrowed it from a good friend of mine.” Arien tried to hide the truth.
“So you have such rich friends?” Jane was not going to stop.
“Let’s go, were late.” Arien changed the topic.
They drove to the venue of the party. It was a beautiful hotel, not too luxurious but was good for middle class.
The decorations were beautiful. Arien and Jane walked in and Raina came over to greet them.
“You’re late girls, come.” She said pulling both the girls inside.
“Happy birthday manager Raina” both greeted her and handed the presents they bought.
“It’s not the office. Call me Raina, silly girls.” Raina was an easy going person.
She was easy to talk to and treated every one nicely unlike her sister, Madonna, so everyone liked her back.
They were enjoying the party. There was music and dance.
Raina kept looking at the entrance.
She was not alone waiting for someone but Madonna also kept looking at the door eagerly waiting for someone’s arrival.
After about half an hour a man entered the hotel.
The songs stopped and everyone’s gaze fell on the man in the entrance.
He wore a black suit with a great taste. Under the dim party lights he looked really handsome, his face was perfect. Dean, being the special assistant, naturally followed Devian.
All the girls present there couldn’t help but long for such a man to just give a glance to them. But the man’s eyes searched around the hall and finally landed on Arien.
Arien suddenly blushed.
“Director is looking at you” Jane poked Arien with her elbow and whispered.
“Why’s he here?” She couldn’t help but think. “Didn’t he say he do not liked parties?”
Not only Jane noticed Devian’s gaze. Madonna also saw how Devian looked at her.
She still had a smile in her face but she was cursing Arien in her heart.
“Director Lyle, please come. I’m very happy that you attended my sister’s birthday party.” Madonna tried to get his attention but she was ignored badly.
Devian walked over and sat. He knew that if he approached Arien now, her secret will come in front of everyone.
Arien could also understand him. So she won’t mind if he didn’t come to her. Still the first thing he did was to look at her when he entered. This little bit itself made Arien happy.
The music was played again and there were people dancing.
Jane was too shy to go but suddenly a man, Walter Mason, who was one of their colleague approached her asking her for a dance.
Jane was hesitant but was pushed by Arien. “Enjoy” she winked at her.
After Jane accompanied Walter to the dance floor Arien was left alone.
She sat there picking a glass of red wine.
“Don’t drink” she heard an ordering voice from behind.
Arien didn’t want to argue so she kept the glass back. With an “Okay”
“May I have a dance?” Devian said.
Arien was hesitant. She doesn’t want to expose her identity as Mrs Lyle so she was a bit cautious.
“I don’t dance.” She turned him down.
She actually knew dancing very well. She had been taught by her mother who was also a flawless dancer. She loved dancing and had a habit of getting lost if she danced.
But she used this excuse to reject his proposal.
“Arien go” all the male colleague shouted while all the females were jealous of her.
“Lying is a bad habit.” Saying so Devian held her hand and took her on the dance floor.
The soft music suddenly changed and the stage lit up.
“But I don’t.” Arien tried to go back
“You look perfect, what about this complement?” Devian whispered in her ears knowingly and lead her into some steps.
“Huh?” In this daze and confusion Arien did the steps perfectly.
Her movements were smooth. One could easily say that she was a brilliant dancer by the flow she danced with.
Devian knew that she was a great dancer by now and made some more difficult moves but Arien followed him as if she already knew the next step.
Seeing her being so absorbed in the dance his eyes lit up.
They didn’t notice that all the others, dancing, gradually left the dance floor leaving them alone.
They both looked like a real prince and princess dancing. Everyone’s eyes were fixed at them.
They both matched each step. Devian was also a brilliant dancer but he slowed his pace to match with her.
Every step, swings and lifts were perfect.
After an unknown period of dancing it ended with a last lift.
Devian leaned and held Arien supporting her by the waist.
They were lost in each other, looking into each others eyes.
It was only when the audience burst with applause that Arien came to her senses.
She tried to get up but Devian still held her tight not letting her move.
“Let go!” She murmured.
Only then Devian helped her stand up.
Just as she stood up, Arien ran down the stage.
“You were awesome!” Jane spoke not stopping her claps.
“It’s only dance.” Arien said.
“Now I may present a gift for my dear sister” suddenly Madonna stood on the stage and spoke.
