Nydia pushed Jesse away with her hand. “To be honest, Cade doesn’t want me to quit, he wants me to think about it carefully.”
“If you’re determined to quit, then don’t bother with him. But if you’re not sure, try negotiating some conditions,” Jesse suggested.
“I do want to quit. Even if I negotiate something with him, I’m still making money for Cade and that makes me sick!” Nydia exclaimed.
Even if she and Cade were equal partners in the business, she was still making money for him.
“Well Christmas is coming up soon. After that you won’t have to go back anymore. You can start handing over your responsibilities early,” Jesse said.
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. Then I’ll register my own clothing brand and all the money will be mine,” Nydia added quickly before realizing something else: “And then I can use the money I earn to support my family.”
Jesse nodded without saying anything more.
“During Christmas we should visit the Malone family and take a look at his study while we’re there,” Nydia suggested.
She felt like Jesse would understand hidden compartments better than she would; otherwise she might miss something important by herself.
“We’ll play it by ear when we get there,” Jesse replied calmly as he thought about how surprising it was that there were hidden compartments in Cade’s study but also unsurprising given his character.
“Hey do you have any hidden compartments in your study?” Nydia asked curiously,
“You can go check yourself; if you find anything let me know and I’ll reward you for it.”
Nydia knew from his tone of voice that he didn’t actually have any hidden compartments so she planned on telling Cade tomorrow about quitting her job before visiting Willette at the Malone family estate instead of going directly home after work today like usual.
Earlier Albi had invited them over as guests at the Cannon family estate but due to recent events they could only visit during Christmas time now.
When night came around Nydia decided not sleep next to Jesse since he didn’t need acupuncture every day anymore.
“I’ve got some things left unfinished tonight so don’t wait up for me,” She told him before leaving their bedroom.
Jesse didn’t say anything either because he had things of his own left undone too.
Later on when he returned back into their room after finishing everything else on his plate earlier than expected only found out that Nydia wasn’t there anymore so went looking for her in her workspace where found out she was still working hard even though it was already past midnight already!
He tapped lightly on top of one table nearby which made her finally look up from what doing – hair clipped back using a large hair clip revealing an adorable expression!
“It’s already past midnight why aren’t you sleeping yet?””I got a little carried away with drawing.” Nydia stretched lazily. “It’s not easy to start your own clothing brand. I thought if I drew more designs, there would be more clothes in the store later on.”
“I have to work tomorrow, so it’s about time we call it a night,” Jesse said.
Nydia glanced at the time and realized it was getting late. She quickly packed up her things.
She saw Jesse standing next to her waiting for her, and she knew that if she didn’t go along with him and sleep together, he would get angry.
So without saying much, she followed Jesse into the bedroom.
“I’m so tired. Goodnight, Jesse,” she said half-heartedly as she crawled under the covers ready to sleep.
Earlier when she was engrossed in drawing, she didn’t feel tired at all but now that they had stopped working for the night, exhaustion hit her hard.
She closed her eyes but heard a voice from above her face.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to satisfy me?” There was laughter mixed in his tone of voice.
“I’m really tired,” Nydia replied without opening her eyes because once they met his gaze; it would be difficult for her not to give in completely.
“Okay then. Sleep well.”
He agreed so easily?
Nydia was surprised but still kept her eyes shut because if they opened them now; he might take advantage of this opportunity again and kiss or touch or worse…
They shouldn’t be this intimate right now! It gave Nydia an illusion that their relationship was good enough for them always being together like this forever which wasn’t true at all!
She didn’t want herself falling into such an illusion where only heartbreak awaited after sinking too deep into these emotions…
But then…
Her lips felt softness against them suddenly!
Nydia opened up wide-eyed only inches away from Jesse’s face who had taken advantage of this momentary lapse of control on Nydias part by kissing passionately before giving any chance for words between them again..
“You…” She tried questioning him but he took another chance by kissing deeply again before allowing any further conversation between them..
Afterwards when their passionate kiss finally ended; Nydias lips were left tingling while speaking out softly yet accusingly: “You told me to sleep!” Her tone may have been questioning but there were hints of playfulness within its sound as well – making one wonder what other surprises lay ahead between these two lovers tonight?
“Yeah… You can sleep while I do my thing…” He replied nonchalantly which made Nydias blood boil with anger inside since he seemed like nothing mattered except himself sometimes..
“No way! I’m exhausted!” She tried flipping over onto another side but found herself trapped underneath Jesses strong arms instead – unable even move around freely anymore due his grip upon both wrists tightly held down beneath him..”Do you really not want it?” he asked with a smirk, his slightly upturned mouth making Nydia want to reach out and pull it down. He was too much of a bad boy.
“Yes! I don’t want it!” she deliberately answered firmly, not wanting to be played by this man.
It seemed like everything was under his control, and she was being led by his rhythm.
“Don’t be so stubborn. Just try it out. If it’s no good, you don’t have to pay for it. If you like it, then keep using it,” he said persuasively.
Nydia stared at Jesse in disbelief. What the hell is he talking about?
While she was still stunned, Jesse had already started doing whatever he wanted.
“Hey!”
“The sooner we start using this thing, the sooner we’ll finish. Aren’t you tired?”
Ah ah ah! This guy is too good at this! Nydia could only surrender! Especially when he spoke in that seductive tone and voice that made her unable to refuse him. And when their eyes met, the raised corners of his eyes exuded infinite charm.
So she couldn’t refuse him and had no choice but to satisfy him.
As her eyelids fought each other while she struggled with sleepiness, she heard his playful voice ringing in her ears: “Let me know how well the trial goes.”
“Get lost!”
And then she fell asleep.
The next morning when Nydia got up from bed, she almost fell off because of anger as soon as her feet touched the ground; She grabbed a pillow and threw herself towards Jesse.
Jesse looked at her innocently until she went into washroom before realizing why Nydia was angry so early in the morning.
Nydia stood angrily brushing teeth while looking into mirror; cursing herself for being cheap – why couldn’t she resist? Why did surrender come so easily? How did he manage to arouse her interest? Too pathetic!
Wasn’t SHE always teasing HIM before?
She now felt deeply frustrated – just like that famous saying: “The disciple surpasses the master.” But in HER case: “Teaching husband wrong things has exhausted me.”
She put on a high-necked shirt which covered all traces left behind by last night’s activities.
But soon after putting on clothes, she noticed something strange; leaning closer towards mirror for inspection…
“Jesse!”
“Hmm?”
“When did you leave bite marks on my ear?” She saw two bite marks on her ear!
But strangely enough, she couldn’t remember when or how they got there..
“I don’t remember,” He continued innocently as if nothing happened last night – completely unlike yesterday’s hungry wolf behavior .
