“No. It wasn’t” said Daniel. I again looked at him.

“Yes, you did,” Dany said while a smirk plastered on his face.
“What are you doing, here in the morning?” I chirped.
“What. You’re not going to school today?” he said finally.
Ohh… yes today we have to rehearse for the presentation of our Physics project.

I still have to make notes on steam turbine and feedwater pump.
“Ohh.. Yeah. So you’re going with me?” I asked Dany, standing up.
“No, Kim. You are going with me. Now get ready.” he smirked before turning around and going out of my room.
I went to take a shower. I came back wrapping a towel and started searching for some decent clothes. I finally found an Olive green top with little frills at its end and a cute belt right at the abdomen. I decided to wear dark blue jeans, I left my hair loose just pinned one or two strands on one side after brushing my hair.
I stuffed my books into the bag and grabbed all the project pages which were lying all over my study table in a mess.
“We have only fifteen minutes Kim. Come fast” I heard Dany shouting. I rushed downstairs and Dany handed me bread with Nutella spread on it. I said “goodbye mom! Love you.” while giving a peck on her cheek.
We both sat in the car but didn’t speak much in the first few minutes.
“Umm.. Kim.”
“Yeah?”
“You said that you had no friend after I left. What happened to Clara?”
Though Dany and I were close but we also had another member with us. Her name was Clara Lively. After Dany left the town she and I kind of fell apart. She would prefer sitting with Ellen Whitmore than me. Our communication cut down to petty nods and ‘hey’. Well, that was just me. I used to sit with her during our break time, one day she decided to have a fight with me or moreover I would say she insulted me in front of the whole school. She told me that she was friends with me only because of Dany. She liked him and now that he is gone, I’m of no use to her.
Well, I don’t know whether you know what it feels like or not. But it’s like all your world is shattered into small pieces. It feels like the all the happiness you had in your heart got crushed into powder. No, I’m not exaggerating things. That’s the reality. When your childhood best buddy leaves you and shifts out of town and then your other best friend tell you that you are a piece of shit and now you’re of NO USE to her!
“Earth to Kim. Hello” Dany was snapping his fingers in front of me.
“Huh.. Umm Clara stopped talking to me after you moved.”
“What!” Dany said, out loud in blended expressions of amazement and shock.
“Yeah, that was me when I found out the reason,” I said in a low voice.
Unexpectedly Dany didn’t ask was the reason. I chose not to tell him any further.
Dany and I chatted during the ride just like old times. I’m glad that he came back. We finally pulled away in our school parking lot and headed towards the school building. I saw an Audi parked there. Car’s gate opened and I saw Raymond and Ellen getting out of the car. Our eyes met and we passed a smile to each other. Dany and I were still walking towards the building and I was smiling at Raymond and suddenly Raymond’s expressions changed from happy and warm to angry and cold.
I don’t know what took over him but he seem annoyed. I looked away and again started chatting with Dany. Bell rang and everyone in the corridor started rushing in their classes. Raymond and I have decided that we’ll meet in the first period and rehearse for presentation. I started walking towards the old classroom on the fourth floor. No one ever came in that room, that’s what Ray told me. He said we can practice there.
