❄️Christmas Day❄️
I stand in front of the mirror holding up different two dresses not knowing which one to wear, it was either the deep red skater dress or a light green long dress, I just didn’t know what to pick.
“Babe help” I shout to Ryan who was in the bedroom getting ready, it’s easy for him he knew what suit he was gonna wear last week.
“Yes,” he says walking in knowing I wasn’t hurt or anything, I turn holding both dresses up, he was almost ready he just needed to do his tie.
“I don’t know which one to wear, I mean I tried to go off Christmas colours but both red and green are Christmas colours, then I thought what colour would look best on me but I’ve worn both colours and people have given me compliments, wait maybe they did that cause I’m the princess, what if they hated the colours on me and they just did it to make me feel better-” I say, but he cuts me off placing his hands on my shoulders smiling.
“Calm down this isn’t a big deal, you don’t need to get so worked up,” he says but I look at him like he’s crazy, which he was being right now “I’m sensing from the look I’ve said the wrong thing, okay why are you getting so worked up about a stupid thing, like the colour of your dress?” He asks, I sigh looking down I guess I was getting worked up.
“It just needs to be perfect, it’s the first Christmas we’re all together as a family, it’s our first Christmas together being well together and it’s my first Christmas back home with my family,” I say, he smiles placing the dresses on the side so he could hold my hands in his.
“Today is gonna be perfect whether you wear a green or a red dress, none of that even matters, the only thing that does is we’re all together,” he says, I nod looking down I guess I was just stressing over the stupid little things that aren’t gonna matter, the most important thing is that everyone is together finally, like it’s meant to be.
“I think you’ll look amazing in the red dress by the way” he whispers placing a kiss on my lips before leaving to finish getting ready, I smile picking the dress up off the side.
After we’re both finally ready we start making my way down the stairs where everyone was, in the castle, they have a huge Christmas tree it’s the biggest I’ve ever seen, that’s where we’re gonna sit this year. As we turn the corner I see everyone already there waiting for us, oops I think I spent way too much time picking a dress.
“Merry Christmas,” they all say walking over to give us hugs, once the hugs were finished we join them in front of the tree.
“Wow our first Christmas as a proper family” my dad smiles wrapping his arm around my mother’s shoulders looking at all of us “anyway enough with all the talking, let’s open some presents,” he says, the twins cheering in the corner.
It was a few hours later all the presents had been opened it was just incredible, we were sitting down telling some Christmas stories.
“I’ll be back in a minute, I’m just popping out,” I say standing up from the circle we formed, Ryan taking my hand as I walk past him.
“Is everything okay?” He asks a little worried, probably because of the conversation we had earlier I nod.
“Yeah I’m fine I just need to do something, I won’t be long,” I say leaning down kissing him before fully walking out the room.
I walk up to the doors taking my coat I left there yesterday, I slip it on opening the cupboard taking the presents I put there a few days ago. I walk out into the chilly Christmas morning the only sound was my heels walking along the path, I was heading over to my driver Marks house. When he’s driving me around he always tells me stories about his wife and two kids, he also told me the awful things that happened to them before he got the job as a royal driver, the things his family had to go through were terrible, so I wanted to give them some gifts as a thank you, no one actually knows I’m doing this.
I make it to his house, luckily they lived on the castle grounds so I didn’t need to leave, I walk up the steps knocking on the door. I wait patiently outside, in no time Mark opens the door shocked to see me.
“Your majesty, what are you doing here? You need to drive you I’ll just get my keys-” he says quickly, but I stop him smiling
“No, I actually came here to give you these,” I say holding up the presents, he looks at them shocked “may I come in?” I smile he quickly nods walking aside so I could enter.
I walk in from the door you could see the Christmas tree and his family sat by it, he walks ahead getting their attention.
“Guys we have a special visitor,” he says making everyone’s eyes look to me, shock filling their expressions when they realise who I am.
“Hi guys, I know this is a bit strange but your dad has told me so much about you, in the almost year of being my driver, I wanted to get you some presents as a thank you to him and you” I smile walking in, the little girl who was called Maggie runs over looking at me in awe.
“You must be Maggie, Merry Christmas,” I say handing her the present before walking over to the little boy, who was still sat in the same place “and you must be Jeremy,” I say handing him his present, he thanks me quickly taking the paper off.
While they were unwrapping theirs, I walk over to Mark and his wife who were smiling towards the children.
“And these are yours” I smile handing them both the present as I hear Maggie cheer running over hugging my legs.
“Thank you, your majesty,” she says, I got her real ballet shoes as she was starting ballet, but they couldn’t afford to get her any shoes, so I got them for her.
Jeremy also walks over giving me a little hug thanking my me, Mark always tells me how Jeremy loves RC cars so I got him the best one I could find, by the time we were finished hugging Mark and his wife had already finished opening their gifts.
“Thank you,” his wife says crying but gives me a hug.
“Mark told me how you lost your necklace when you had to leave your house, so I searched everywhere to find the same one” I smile as Mark pulls the watch out I got him “I remember you telling me how much you loved them watches, but they were way too expensive so I figured I could get for you” I smile he walks over also wrapping me in a hug.
“Now as much as I love being here with you, I better get back before my family wonders where I’ve gone, Merry Christmas guys” I smile walking towards the door hearing them all say merry Christmas back.
I get back in the castle, as Ryan was walking out the room he sees me walking over hugging me, I take my coat off hanging it up.
“Where did you go?” He asks wrapping his arm around my shoulders, as we start making our way into the dining hall for Christmas dinner.
“Just spreading some Christmas joy” I smile, he laughs placing a kiss on my lips, “I think it’s time we told them” I smile he nods walking us into the dinner hall.
“Everyone may we have your attention,” Ryan says making everyone look up at us “now that we’re all together Savannah and I have some news,” he says looking down at me smiling, we both say the next thing at the same time.
“We’re getting married!”
