Chapter Forty

Book:Impossible Mates Published:2024-5-1

It doesn’t take us long to arrive in town, where Ryan heads straight for the town hall, in no time we stop outside. I look down and remember Ryan doesn’t have any clothes, I jump off his back and start scanning the place, where I see business looking guy walking out of the hall.
“Excuse me, sir!” I shout running over to him, making him look up in surprise “I’m sorry and it’s kind of a weird request, but I need your suit” I said pointing down to his clothes.
“Of course majesty,” he says, I signal to Ryan to come over he was still in wolf form.
“He has shorts he can give you, but we’ve got to go in the town hall and he can’t really wearing that, I’ll have someone bring a new suit for you after the trial” I smile, as the guy and Ryan both walk down an ally to change.
I stand there alone, a few people would look at me shocked, I am the princess standing alone in a huge dress……… did I mention I was alone? Ryan runs out from the alley fixing the tie but he did look good in the suit, he takes my hand both of us running into the hall and towards where the trail was. We run through the door making everyone in there look up at us, Ryan’s parents were sitting together in handcuffs on one table, with Rachel sitting on another not in handcuffs, okay how is that fair?
“Sorry,” I say as I see Justin waving at me from the side, I walk Ryan and I taking a seat next to him.
“You two look way overdressed,” he says as we sit down, I was in a wedding dress and Ryan was in a smart suit.
“Hey you’re sitting with us, it just makes it seem like you didn’t put any effort in” I smile, before turning my attention to the front, but he hugs me from the side.
“I’m sorry about before” he whispered, I smile before the judge shouted silence making us shut up instantly.
“I think we’ve heard enough, it’s time for the jury to go discuss,” the judge says, I take a look to Justin as I’ve missed so much.
“What happened did, Ryan’s parents get to say anything?” I ask but he shakes his head, this made anger boil inside of me “no you can stop right there” I say standing up, which again makes everyone turn to look again.
“What’s the issue?” The judge says annoyed, obviously over this and me.
“That’s not a way to speak to the princess, you better watch your tone,” I say which makes him look down apologising “now I hear from my cousin, that Mr and Mrs Wilson didn’t have a chance for the jury to hear from them,” I say, which makes Racheal speak up from the opposite table.
“Why would they want to hear from them?” She asks looking back at the jury smiling.
“They want to hear from them, because I said they do,” I say walking down to stand next to her table, she didn’t look happy as the door opens and in walks my parents and uncle Jessie, oh no
“You seem to forget I’m one of the royals” she laughs, but I just walk right in front of where she’s sitting.
“No hun,  you used to be, my uncle Jessie is filing for divorce, which means you’re no longer a royal, you were just the baby maker,” I say looking her dead in the eyes, she goes to hit me but is held back by the guards.
“Now like I was saying, Mr and Mrs Wilson deserve a fair trial,” I say walking over to stand in the middle of the room, looking at the judge.
“The problem is we have no one to represent them, everyone refused,” he says, I stare back at Ryan to see him look so upset without them being able to defend themselves, they’ll for sure be sent down for life.
“I’ll do it,” I say which makes the judge look over at me shocked ” I’m not asking you to let me do it, I’m telling you I am now, I need a few minutes to talk with my clients,” I say looking up at the judge, giving him a hard look.
“You have five minutes,” he says, I smile walking out Ryan’s parents followed behind.
I was led into a different room with his parents, once the door was shut I realise the breath my holding.
“Wow that was hard,” I say looking up at his parents smiling.
“Savannah, what are you doing?” Ryan’s mum asks, looking at me with sad eyes.
“Well I was meant to be married less than hour ago, I escaped and came here to become a lawyer,” I say sitting on the table that was in the middle of the room, as they send me a weird look “what you think I’d dress in his huge wedding dress for fun?” I ask, I don’t know if I’ve said before this wedding dress was huge!
“You and Ryan were gonna get married?” His father asks shocked, but I shake my head.
“Yeah one day but today nope, I was being forced to marry some guy I met a week before, anyway back to this trial stuff, you can trust me to get you out cause well Ryan is really upset about it all so I wanna help you guys,” I say looking down “and I don’t want you to be locked up forever, you looked after me and were and, still are, my parents,” I say still looking at the ground.
“Oh hunny” his mother cries, but I refuse and lookup.
“Now come on we don’t have long,” I say walking passed them and out the door back to the courtroom, not knowing how the heck I was gonna do this.
