The women finally finished poking me and sent me upstairs while they made the dress, I sit on the bed staring at the ceiling as the door opened, I thought it would be one of those women again wanting to stab me with another pin but it wasn’t, Gabbie walked in closing the door behind me.
“The women sent me up after poking me with pins for a while,” she says, I turn my attention back to the ceiling, I didn’t know what I was meant to say we haven’t spoken since we had that huge fight.
We stay silent for a while, you could cut the tension with a knife.
“This is stupid we’re best friends we shouldn’t act like this, now we have to sit down at talk about what happened and what’s about to happening ,” she says sitting next to me on the bed but I turn away “don’t act like you don’t wanna talk or you wouldn’t have asked that Rudy guy to come and get me,” she said which was true, a part me I was hoping she could come, I sigh turning around.
“Okay fine, you’re the first person that came to mind when Rudy asked who would be my maid of honour, but what happened back at school was bad, we’ve never fought like that,” I say, she nods looking down too.
“It was mainly because of your cousin Justin,” she says making me give her a look “no we’re fine now, when you went missing I spent a lot of time with him, just trying to track you down,” she says, but I give her a look she was hiding something, I just didn’t know what.
“So you two are friends now?” I ask, she gives me a look but smiles wait no way “you’re mates aren’t you?” I ask, with a smile which makes her look at me with a nod.
“Let’s stop talking about Justin and I and get back to this plan, Rudy explained everything to me, how the heck did you get yourself in this situation?” She asks, honestly I didn’t know the answer, it all seemed like a blur at this point.
“I’m just glad we’re friends again” I smile she wraps me in a hug, I really missed hugs like this.
It was a few hours later, Gabbie was helping with my hair and makeup I helped her do hers too, it felt like we were back in my old room just messing around after school, I’ve missed this feeling.
“You look beautiful for your fake wedding” she smiles looking at me through the mirror, it’s the first time in a while I’ve felt like myself “now the wedding starts at 9,” she says picking up a notebook Rudy must have given her “we have to be out there by half-past and hopefully we’re clear of this place at 10” she sighs, putting the notebook back on the desk this is so stressful.
“We have a stressful few hours,” I say as the door opens and in walks the women, holding two dresses.
“This one is for the bride” one smiles passing me a grey dress smiling, than walking over to Gabbie handing her a light pink dress “the wedding starts in 45 minutes, so hurry you don’t wanna be late to your own wedding,” she says smiling at me before walking out.
“Come on I’ll help you,” Gabbie says placing her dress down walking over helping me to put the huge grown on.
It took a while for us to get my dress on, it was huge and the back was really tricky but we finally figured it out, once we were ready was Max waiting downstairs, he didn’t look happy but he never does at this point.
“Max, I didn’t think I’d see you for a while,” I say, holding my dress as I walk down the stairs.
“We don’t have time to ask where I was or what I was doing, are you sure you wanna marry Rudy?” He asks taking my hands in his, well no I obviously don’t wanna marry Rudy but going along with this is actually gonna get me out
“If you don’t want to, just leave with me we can be clear of this place in no time, it’s my fault I brought you here so just tell me and we’ll leave right now,” he says I go to open my mouth but someone walking through the door stops me, it was Rudy’s mum.
“I see Max has already told you he’s giving you away” she smiles, I look over at Max no he didn’t get to that part “come on everyone’s waiting” she smiles walking out the door as Gabbie hands me my flowers, she had her own just a smaller bunch.
“Wow Gabbie haven’t seen you in a while,” Max says but she didn’t reply, instead led me outside.
“I really don’t like him,” she says to me as we get outside into the dark, no one does.
“You don’t have to like him he isn’t part of the plan, just stick to the plan,” I say walking ahead, as Max comes up from behind me.
“Savannah listen, you don’t have to go through with this, if you want to we can just leave just me and you,” he says, out the corner of my eye I see Rudy’s mother looking listening to what we were saying.
“Max I don’t wanna leave, I want to marry Rudy now come on I can’t be late to my own wedding,” I say walking towards where the wedding was being held.
Gabbie walks down first holding her flowers, Max links my arm with his as we start taking steps towards the isle, we stop at the start of the aisle where I could see Rudy standing at the end looking down at me smiling.
Here goes nothing.
