I was walking around the castle with my teddy bear, when I hear shouting, I hold my teddy tighter and start making my way over to where the shouts were coming from.
“Please, you have to allow us in, our son isn’t safe out there”I hear a woman cry, she sounded really upset.
The cries led me to the ballroom where I stand by the door looking in, my parents and Ryan’s parents were in there, Ryan’s mum was the one crying.
“I’m sorry, due to your history we don’t believe it’ll be safe if you were to live in the castle,” my father says, making Ryan’s mum cry even more.
I look around the ballroom where a little boy hugging his knees catches my eye, I make sure the adults couldn’t see me as I run over, sitting next to him.
“Are you okay?” I ask quietly to the little boy, he shakes his hand cuddling his legs still “what’s wrong?” I ask, getting closer to him.
“My mama is shouting and crying,” he says looking up at me, this is when I realise the little boy is Ryan “I’m scared,” he cries, tears rolling down his little cheeks.
“Here take my bear, he always makes me feel better,” I say passing my teddy to him, which makes him let go of his legs “my names Yasmin” I smile.
“I’m Ryan” he smiles back, as the adults walk over to us Ryan’s mother looks like she was gonna pick Ryan up, but she picks me up instead.
“How would you feel if your daughter was in danger, and the only way you could save her was moving, but people wouldn’t let you,” she asks, walking back over to my parents, who soon realise I’m the child in her arms.
“We get that you’re angry, but please put our daughter down,” my mother says scared slowly walking closer, to us but Ryan’s mum didn’t move.
“Why are you crying?” I ask looking at her, she looks down at me but she doesn’t answer and just smiles walking me over to my parents, where my father takes me out of her arms holding me tightly.
“Leave now!” My father says in a deep voice, which causes his parents to start taking steps back.
“You haven’t seen the last of us,” Ryan’s mum says picking Ryan off the floor walking out, I wave goodbye to Ryan he does the same holding my bear in his hands.
I wake up in bed next to Ryan, I can’t believe we met before I was taken, I shake him awake which makes him open his eyes looking at me tiredly.
“You’ve had another dream haven’t you?” He asks, his voice deep, he slowly sits up looking at me, as I nod looking down.
“We met when we were little, before I was taken,” I say, he looks at me confused telling me to go on, “I think your parents took me because my parents wouldn’t let them live in the castle, they said their son, you, was in danger outside but my father still denied them access,” I say, he sits up crossing his arms thinking.
“You were scared so I gave you my teddy bear so you’d feel better,” I say, which caused another flashback.
I was in a room but it didn’t look anything like the castle, I soon realise it’s our living room from back at Ryan’s parent’s house, I was crying sitting in a corner looking at Ryan’s parents, who stood in front of me talking.
“It’s okay don’t cry, we’re your new mummy and daddy,” she says, but I keep crying shouting for my mum and dad.
A little boy walks out from behind them holding a teddy bear in his hands, he walks over sitting next to me.
“Are you okay?” He asks, as I continue you to cry shaking from fear.
“I want my mummy and daddy” I cry, but he hands me his teddy bear.
“Take teddy, he makes you feel better when your sad and scared,” he says handing the teddy bear to me, my teddy bear! I hug the teddy hard crying.
After the flashback I had tears rolling down my face, Ryan looks over wrapping his arm around me asking what was wrong.
“I just had a flashback, when your parents took me and kept telling they were my new mummy and daddy, I kept crying for my own so you gave me my teddy back, “I say crying, Ryan holds me tighter he was angry at this point I could tell.
“Wait here,” he says getting out of bed and walking into the cupboard at the side of the room, he stays in there for a few minutes before he walks out holding something, it was my teddy bear.
“I knew you packed this, I got people to go to my car and get our things out,” he says walking over passing the old bear to me, I smile looking down at the bear I took this teddy bear everywhere with me when I was younger, looking back now I think it was because it was one thing that I still had from my real family even, if I couldn’t remember I had a different family.
Ryan climbs back in bed wrapping his arm around me, I just continue to stare down at the old teddy bear, whenever I have a flashback this teddy is in most of them.
“Let’s try to get some more rest, we can talk about all this in the morning,” Ryan says kissing my head, I nod and lay down still in his arms, I fall asleep in no time with my old teddy close to me.
