We follow the annoying women down the hall, who wasn’t happy because we’ll be 30 seconds late. My arm was linked with Ryan’s as we walk very quickly down the hall, at the end of the hall were huge doors that were opened which led into a huge dining hall, once we enter people were already sitting. I could see my parents, my uncle sat with women, who must be his mate and three other young people, one looked around my age, the other two looked a bit younger, I think they were even twins, they must be my uncle’s children.
“Sorry we’re late your majesty, we had an issue with the clothes, didn’t we?” She says turning around to look at Ryan and I, but mostly me I went to speak but Ryan stopped me.
“Yes we did, but it’s all sorted now no harm done,” he says knowing what I would have said if he didn’t, I felt like throwing my heel at her head.
The women give me a smug smile before walking out of the room, all happy with herself.
“That woman is so annoying,” I say, once she was out Ryan looked down at me then back at my family.
“Savannah that’s rude,” he says giving me a look as we were in front of my family, but I didn’t care.
“It’s not rude if it’s a fact, maybe she needs a hug but definitely not from me,” I say, Ryan nudges me to tell me to be quiet.
“Take a seat,” my mum says smiling “so you can meet everyone,” she says pointing to the two spare seats next to my uncle’s children.
Ryan leads me to the seats, I sit next to a guy around my age and Ryan sat next to me, the guy smiles as I sit down, actually everyone at the table has huge smiles on their faces.
“Well you already know me as your uncle Jessie, this is my wife Rachel and these are our children, your cousins” Jessie smiles pointing to the people beside me, yes I knew they were his children!
“I’m Justin,” the guy says sitting beside me smiles “and these two are the twin’s Rosa and Richard,” he says pointing to the other, yes I knew they were twins, I’m just so good at this.
“Before you were taken, you and Justin used to be really close, you hardly left each other’s sides” my dad smiles, making Justin and I look at each other at the same time and smile.
“Oh and don’t forget her name is my middle name!” Rosa says happily then stops “well her old name,” she says looking down at the table, wow this girl was kind of named after me.
Before I could say anything people walk into the room holding plates of food, cutting the conversation short.
After dinner my parents thought it would be nice if Justin showed me around the castle, Ryan stayed back my father wanted to get to know him better. I walk next to Justin, we didn’t speak I really didn’t know what to say.
“So we close when we were younger?” I ask, he looks up at me smiling with a slight nod.
“Yeah we were always together, trust me there are hundreds of photos to prove it” he laughs as a bench comes into view, where he sits down it was in the middle of a huge flower garden, I walk around slowly amazed it was so beautiful here.
“You used to love this place when we were younger, once no one could find you and you ended up being here” Justin smiles watching me look around.
“I love nature, I just find it so beautiful” I smile finally taking a seat next to him.
“I’m happy you’re back,” he says quietly but he doesn’t look at me, I smile placing my hand on his shoulder so he looks around at me.
“I’m kind of glad I’m back to, I just don’t really remember anything about this place,” I say, which makes his face light up.
“Follow me,” he says taking my hand making us basically run back into the castle, it’s lucky I know how to run in heels.
We run straight passed Ryan and my parents, than straight passed his parents, there were a set of stairs we ran up finally just before my legs fell off we stop outside a door. It looked like it had been drawn on with a crayon at one point, he takes a key out his pocket and unlocks the door smiling.
“We spent so much time in this place before you were taken, if anything in this place is gonna jog your memory it’s this” he smiles opening the door moving, so I could walk in first.
I look at him before slowly making my way into the room which actually looked like an old playroom, it had toys in baskets, dolls houses and colourful paintings on the walls, every little kids dream playroom. I walk further into the room where something written on the wall catches my eye, in crayon two names were written, I take an even closer look to see in kids handwriting the names
“Yasmin and Justin” which sparked a memory.
“This is your new playroom,” my dad says opening the door, to a fresh new playroom, I run looking around amazed.
“All mine,” I say in a child’s voice, my dad smiles.
“This is yours and your cousin Justin’s playroom to share” he smiles standing by the door, I run over to the dolls house taking a little doll out as a little boy runs in passed my dad.
“Yasmin!” The little boy says running over hugging me.
“Justin,” I say hugging back, “daddy says this is ours to share,” I say, he cheers happily running around the room.
“I’ll be outside Yasmin” my dad smiles walking out the door and down the hall, as Justin comes over with a crayon in his hands.
“I have an idea but you can’t tell anyone,” he says taking my hand walking over to the wall “write your name,” he says handing me the crayon.
I as neatly as possible write my name, Justin does the same writing next to mine.
“Yasmin and Justin” In red crayon.
The flashback ends bringing me back to the room, where I turn to look at Justin.
“We wrote this so people would know this was our playroom,” I say, he smiles walking over to look at the wall.
“I forgot we did that, wait you remember,” he says, I nod smiling looking around the place.
“I guess no one has been in here for years,” I say walking around, it was dusty with cobwebs everywhere.
“No when you….. went away, I didn’t wanna play in here without you so my dad locked it, he gave me the key a few years ago, I come in here once in a while, I used to wonder what you were doing while I was sat in here thinking about you” he smiles, I place my hand on his shoulder smiling as my dad and Jessie walk through the door.
“What you doing in here?” My dad asks, Justin and I like we used to stand up close together blocking them from seeing our names on the wall.
“Nothing,” we say on unison making them laugh, I didn’t even know why we did that, it was like on instinct.
“Just like when you were little” Jessie smiles leaning against the door frame
“Of course, cause this is Yasmin and Justin’s playroom,” Justin says but stops and looks towards me “sorry, Savannah’s and Justin’s playroom,” he says wrapping his arm around my shoulders smiling.
Yasmin, I wonder what that little girl would be like now.
