Chapter Nineteen

Book:Impossible Mates Published:2024-5-1

Ryan still made sure I was behind him, but even behind him people could get me, I turn so my back was up against his so I knew if someone tried to get me from behind.
“Maybe we could take them,” I say quietly to Ryan, who interlocked his fingers in mine, both hands.
“Whatever happens I’ll protect you,” he says back as the men on one side move so there was a small walkway, a man in a suit starts to make his way down.
As soon as Ryan saw this he pulled me away from the guy once again putting me behind him, so I couldn’t fully see the guys face.
“Calm down, no one here is gonna hurt you,” a mans voice says, as soon as I heard it I recognised it, why does that keep happening?
“I don’t believe you, you’ve already got my parents,” Ryan says looking the guy dead in the eye, I still couldn’t see his face
“We are here to help protect you not to harm, just come with us and everything will be explained,” the guy continues , Ryan moves slightly so I finally got to see the guys face, instantly, his face sparked another flashback.
I was a little girl again running around a huge garden laughing, my teddy was in my hand. I ran so fast in what looked like a maze, somewhere along my journey I dropped my teddy and didn’t realise until I stopped to rest, I look around for a second tears starting to prick my eyes.
“Looking for this?” A voice says making me turn around, to see the man from the field holding my teddy.
I run over the man picking me up handing me the teddy smiling.
“I found him on the floor over there, but don’t worry he’s perfectly fine, you can always count on your uncle Jessie” he smiles, hugging me.
I look back at Ryan after the flashback, who had me still behind him, but I move so I could see the mans face and it was the same guy from my flashback, he was just a little older.
“Let’s go with them,” I say which makes him just turn to look at me shocked “I just had another flashback that guy was in it, I think he’s my uncle,” I said looking towards the guy, who couldn’t see me Ryan blocked me from the guy’s view.
“Savannah, you have to be sure,” he says looking in my eyes, but I nod he just needed to trust me.
“I’m sure, he’s family,” I say moving aside so the guy could actually see me, once he did he teared up and had to look away for a second.
“You’re my uncle aren’t you?” I say taking slow steps towards him, Ryan still hand a tight hold on my hand.
He looks up smiling with a nod, which I send to Ryan who still looked ready to attack if anyone tried something.
“We can trust him,” I tell him, Ryan looks at me at that moment I think he knew I was right.
“Okay we’ll go with you, but we have to stay together,” he points to the guy, who I now know is my uncle.
“I promise you won’t get split up” he smiles as the men once again make a walkway, Ryan and I look at each other before following behind the guy and right through the men.
On the way Ryan interlocks our fingers together, the men were close behind us but down the path where hundreds of people standing waiting. Once we got closer they all started cheering and clapping, the men behind us got even closer where I couldn’t actually see where we were walking anymore. Before I knew it we were getting into a black car , the cheers were loud which meant the only thing separating me from the cheering people were the men that looked like guards. Once in the car we drive away very fast, but I didn’t take my eyes off the guy in the suit,  is he actually my uncle? Ryan sat beside me whose hand didn’t leave mine the entire time, I think he needed it more than I did.
The car ride was silent, I didn’t know what to say to my new uncle who was sat ahead of us, Ryan had a tight grip on my hand and which got a tiny bit tighter when my uncle would move slightly. We pull up to big gates that had four more guards standing outside of them, slowly open the gates for the car that was driving ahead went first, I just look around the beautiful place, not long after we pull in, a huge castle appeared in front of my eyes where the heck are we?
We pull up right in front of , it but I take a look to Ryan who looked as shocked as I did, the man in the suit gets out first as two people walk out, they were too far away for me to see their faces. Ryan was the next to get out holding his hand out to help me, I take his hand and climb out as the two people stop so I could finally see who they were. It was the important-looking people that Ryan and I had lunch with wait, their names are Lukas and Melissa that’s also my birth parents names, they can’t be my birth parents.
“They are, “my wolf says making me freeze, Ryan looks over at me worried, he keeps saying my name over and over but my eyes didn’t leave my birth parents.
“We know this is gonna be a huge shock, but when we first met we didn’t just want to come out with it about us being your parents,” Melissa says taking steps towards me, but I take a step back behind Ryan, I really didn’t like this, Jessie walks to stand next to Lukas who just stood giving me a sad look.
“Yas-Savannah, we want to help you in any way to accept the fact that we’re your parents, if you need some space then we’ll give it to you, but you have to remain in the castle grounds for your safety,” Lukas says finally speaking up, but I didn’t have any words, I was actually for the first time lost for words.
“Why is it for her safety we have to stay here?” Ryan asks speaking for me, I think he knew I wasn’t about to.
“We didn’t want it to get out but somehow it has, everyone knows that we’ve found you we just don’t wanna risk your safety,” Lukas explains, but I just look to the ground, this can’t be happening.
“You’ve had a stressful day, someone will show you to your bedroom, we can talk all this through in the morning, does that sound good?” Jessie asks, I look up at him sending him a smile.
“Great, Taylor show them where they’ll be staying,” he says to a maid who bows telling us to follow her.
Ryan and I follow behind making our way into the huge castle, I take a look back to see my real family looking up at me from the bottom of the steps.
My real family.
