Sunny’s POV
“What is this?! I don’t like tomatoes in my sandwich!” Kayla yelled at me after I handed her the sandwich that I have bought from the school cafeteria.
We were at the school garden where they chose to have their lunch break since no one’s going to see that I’m being bullied by them. I looked at the sandwich. “But you said a while ago that you want tomatoes and not lettuce.”
“Oh, did I say that? Then I changed my mind. I no longer want the tomatoes and I want you to ask them to put more mayo in it, please.” she said with a smirk. I really wanted to punch her in the face but I stopped myself. Kayla already knows about Jared’s real identity too. They already know that he’s a superstar and that we’re keeping it a secret. Because of that, they had another thing to threaten me. Damn this life.
“Alright.” I said, as I took the sandwich from her again.
I was about to go back to the school cafeteria when Kayla spoke again. “Wait.”
“What?” I looked at her.
“Why are you wearing that kind of face? Are you trying to pick up a fight on me?”
“Huh? No, I just naturally look like this.” I said.
Kayla raised her eyebrow and stood up. “Don’t go back there anymore. I already changed my mind.”
“W-What?”
“I’m not hungry anymore.”
“Okay. So, can I go now?” I asked, hoping that this witch would finally allow me to have my own lunch.
“I didn’t say that you can already go. I’m not hungry anymore so maybe I’ll just play with you for a while.”
Now, what is this hen planning again? I actually feel nervous whenever she says that she wants to play. I can still remember those things that she asked me to do. She asked me once to buy her a pizza, not just an ordinary pizza but that one that is really huge. And that’s not the only case, she even asked me to spend my own money just to buy that. Then when I finally gave her the pizza that I really wanted to throw to her face, she suddenly threw it on the ground and stepped on it.
I really punched her face that time but then she got mad and slapped me harder that I got cuts on my lips.
“This mango juice doesn’t taste so good. I’ll just give it to you, do you want that?”
“H-Huh?”
“This juice, I’ll give it to you since you look really thirsty.” she said as she started walking towards me, holding the mango juice in her hand. “Do you want it, nerdy?”
“Will you really give it to me?” I asked her.
“Of course. I’m not that wicked anyway. I know you’re thirsty so here you go.”
“Thank You.” I said as I was about to take the mango juice from her but then I was surprised when she suddenly poured it all to me. The mango juice came dripping above my head down to my newly-washed uniform.
Kayla and her friends started laughing while looking at me. “Oops…sorry. It slipped through my fingers.”
I glared at her as my hand balled into a fist.
“Why are you glaring at me like that? Do you want me to reveal all your secrets with that superstar?! Or maybe, you want me to involve the other nerd here again?”
“No. Don’t involve them here. They are not even doing anything against you. We already had an agreement, right? I’ll do everything if you promise not to involve anyone.”
“You’re pathetic, Sunny Peruvian.” Kayla said before turning around. “Let’s go now, girls. I’m already bored with that nerd.”
Her friends stood up and laughed at me first before they started walking away.
Now, what should I do? I can’t even go to our class wearing this uniform. I didn’t even bring an extra shirt. I’m really an idiot, why didn’t I think of bringing an extra shirt when I already know how that witch and her friends think. “Sunny?”
My eyes widened upon hearing Jared’s voice from behind me. I just stood there without looking at him. I shouldn’t let him see me like this because he’ll surely ask numerous questions. I was about to run away but he grabbed me by the hand and made me look at him. He got surprised when he saw me. “W-What happened? W-Who did this to you?”
“H-Huh? N-No, I just did it myself. I-I was playing with the juice when it slipped through my fingers and then—
“Don’t lie to me, Sunny. Who did this to you?” Jared asked again, his tone was serious this time.
“D-Don’t worry about me, Jared. I-I’m fine, okay? Maybe I just have to wipe the stains of juice on my uniform. You should go back to our room now.”
“Sunny, is there someone bullying you?”
I looked at him. “H-Huh?”
“I always see you sneaking out every lunch break and you always tell us you’re just going to the comfort room then you’ll arrive looking like someone has beaten you. You even had cuts on your lips last time.” He heaved a sigh. “Sunny, please tell me what is it. If someone tries to bully you, then tell it to me. I will beat them all up for you.”
I tapped Jared’s shoulders. “You really are so funny, Jared! Hahaha! You don’t have to worry about me, okay? I’m fine. And if anyone tries to bully me, you know I can fight for myself, right? I can just punch them right on their face!”
“Sunny, I’m not kidding.”
“And I’m not playing around too, Jared. I’m alright. I may seem like a total loser but I don’t just let someone step on me without getting a punch on the face.”
He was still looking at me with a worried look on his face so I smiled. “Don’t worry, Jared. If someone tries to bully me, I will tell it to you right away.”
