CHAPTER 22 WHO ARE YOU

Book:My Sassy Boss Published:2024-5-1

Sunny’s POV
“Sunny, what do you think should I wear, huh? Do you think this one is already fine? Do you think I should have my hair permed or I’ll just keep it straight like this?” Mom asked me 6 am in the morning while holding so many clothes.
Dad suddenly came in too and showed us a suit with silver-colored beads which shines so brightly, he looks like a disco ball. “How about this one, Sunny? Do you think they’ll like it? Do I look handsome with it?”
I glared at them, “Do you know what time is it? It’s still 6 am in the morning and you came barging inside my room to ask me if those clothes look good on you?!”
“Just wake up there already! You should prepare too! Go on and buy some dress, and also, go to the market and buy some meat!”
“Mom, they’re just going to visit here and talk to you, not to have a party. You can just wear your casual clothes.”
Mom then walked towards me and smacked my head, “Are you insane? We’re going to meet your future in-laws so we have to leave a good impression!”
“Oh, so you think wearing a ball gown and a glittery suit would leave a good impression? For sure they’ll just think you’re crazy.”
“Shut up little kid and just wake up already. Your sister went hiking with Henry today so for sure she’ll be going home tomorrow morning.”
Ah, good thing. I don’t think I can even look straight in her eyes without remembering what I saw last night.
“Fine, I’ll get up now. Should we just cook steak? Or maybe we should just order some food outside?”
“You’re the one who’s going to cook, Sunny.” Said Mom while admiring herself in front of my mirror.
“W-What?!”
“Of course, you should show them your cooking skills. You should make a good impression on them, Sunny. You should let them see that they would have a future daughter-in-law that knows how to do simple house chores.”
My mom really knows how to make an excuse just for her not to be able to cook. “Mom, how many times do I have to tell you that I’m not getting married yet? And I don’t have any intention to get married, ever?”
“You don’t have any intention to get married to anybody else but you have a boyfriend. What do you think of relationships? Something to have when you’re just bored?”
“Fine, I’ll go to the market now. Just don’t rummage through my cabinets and computer, okay?”
She looked at me teasingly, “Why? You’re afraid that I might see your private videos with your boyfriend, huh?”
“What? What private video are you saying, mom? Tss. I’ll go out now.”
***
Maybe I’ll just cook Chicken Piccata and I will also make lasagna. Then I’ll bake a butterscotch pie for dessert. Now I wouldn’t have time to write, thanks to that bastard who planned all of these.
‘Girl, have you seen Jared?!’
‘Jared? You mean that famous actor from the musical movie called Dust on His Guitar?!’
People here at the market started mumbling while I was looking for a chicken.
‘They said that he’s here! Jared is here!’
‘Really?! But where is he?!’
‘Of course, he’s hiding. He can’t be seen in public anyway. For sure all the people here are going to chase after him if that happens.’
Jared? His name sounds familiar. I think I saw him once in the movies before. Although I can’t clearly remember what he looks like. Oh well, why would I even care about him? He can’t even help me get rid of that bastard who put me in such a horrid position.
‘Don’t forget to buy an ice cream for me.’
Speaking of that demonic man, he just texted me and requested for ice cream. Why does he love ice cream so much? Is he a kid? Oh, I forgot, he came from hell, that’s why he likes cold things!
When I finally bought all the ingredients and all the things that I’ll be needing to poison Damon, I started walking towards the exit when someone suddenly ran past me which caused all the plastic bags that I was holding to fall down to the ground. “H-Hey! How dare you!” I yelled to the man wearing an all-black outfit with black cap and black face mask. He was running as if someone was running after him too. Maybe he’s a snatcher. A snatcher?
I began rummaging through my pockets to see if I still have my wallet and my phone. Good thing they were all still there. I was about to get all of the bags on the ground when a group of people came running towards me again. “JAREEEEEEEDDDDDD!!!!”
“W-What—H-Hey! That’s mine! Don’t step on it! H-Hey!” I yelled but they still kept on stepping on the plastic bags with all of the food that I have bought. “WHAT THE HELL?!! YOU’RE ALL GOING TO PAY FOR THIS!!”
I rolled up the sleeves of my shirt and started running after them. “How dare you step on my meat!!!”
I just followed the people running even if I didn’t know where they are heading to. All I know is that I need to catch the person who bumped onto me first and make him pay it all. I was running so fast until I got tired and stopped while watching them run away. “Damn you, whoever you are!” I yelled while catching my breath.
I was about to call mom to say what just happened when someone suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me towards a dark, narrow street. “Y-You?! Who—
He put his hand on my mouth, causing me to be unable to speak so I widened my eyes at him while trying to push him away. “Don’t make too much noise, someone might hear you.” He said.
Of course, that’s why I was making a noise, because I want someone to hear me, that’s what I badly wanted to tell this dumb kidnapper.
