Before Yanis could react, the kitten had jumped into her embrace. He rushed to hug that little girl tightly, fearing that she would fall. The kitten rubbed against his arm as if thanking him.
Yanis was so happy inside that he got up with Coco in hugs and looked at Zain.
-If you like her, you can let her sleep with you at night.
-Really? -Yanis asked insecurely, but what he really wanted to ask was:
“Do I really have to sleep here tonight?”
-Really. It’s already late, so I’ll take you to your room and you can rest soon,” said Zain and went ahead.
Yanis followed him with the kitten in hugs and Zain took her to a bedroom and said:
-Tonight you will sleep here first. I’m next door, so if you need anything you can call me or knock on my door.
Yanis nodded with Coco in his embrace.
-I’m leaving then.
Before she left, Zain looked at her again and Yanis instantly became nervous and asked:
-What’s wrong?
-You don’t have to worry, I will fix everything.
Having said that, Zain reached out and stroked Yanis’ hair.
It wasn’t until Zain closed the door and walked out that Yanis reacted.
“Zain had just stroked my hair?”
Surprisingly, she froze in place unable to recover.
The kitten suddenly stirred in her arms and Yanis looked down and asked:
-What’s wrong, Coco?
-Meow! -this cute little cat jumped out of her cuddles onto the bed, crawling under the covers and just poking her little head out to look at Yanis as if she was inviting him up onto the bed.
Yanis thought this cat was very clever and, after a moment’s thought, she too lay down under the covers. And as Yanis lay down, Coco came up to him and Yanis reached out and stroked her fur for a while, thinking that a lot had happened tonight. However, it was Zain’s kiss that he remembered most. The kiss was so sudden that Yanis forgot how to manage the series of movements and exchanges that followed.
He brushed his lips with his fingertips, feeling his heart pounding.
“Why did you kiss me, do you feel the same way I do?”
Yanis closed his eyes, not daring to think further for fear that the true outcome might not be the answer he had in mind.
Yanis stroked Coco’s head and asked in a whisper:
-Coco, why did you do that to me all of a sudden?
-Meow? -Coco looked at her with purely innocent eyes.
-Well, you’re just a kitten, you don’t know anything,” Yanis tucked herself in, closed her eyes and prepared to sleep.
Yanis thought she would close her eyes and remember the image of Gaitan trying to rape her, but the only thing she saw when she closed her eyes was Zain. Zain’s eyebrows, Zain’s eyes, Zain’s lips….
Yanis shook her head, trying to get Zain’s face out of her head. Yanis opened his eyes and looked at the dark ceiling. For a moment, Yanis felt that he would only love Zain for the rest of his life. If Zain did not marry her, she would rather die alone and old.
At four o’clock in the morning, Yanis finally falls asleep, exhausted. In her dream, Zain tenderly cupped her face and kissed her, kissed her a hundred and a thousand times….
During the whole night, the only thing Yanis dreamed were the kisses.
The next day, Yanis opened her eyes and realized that she had actually drooled in her sleep. Startled, Yanis sat up and wiped her mouth with her sleeve.
The kitten that had slept with her the night before had disappeared and Yanis realized that the bedroom door was open a crack, perhaps because Coco had run out.
Yanis got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash her face and, incidentally, her pillowcase.
He noticed that Zain’s shirt had wrinkled after one night, but he had nothing new to change into.
Just as Yanis was deep in thought, she heard purring outside the bathroom door.
-Coco? -Yanis asked, opening the bathroom door to find the cat sitting in the doorway. And there was a bag in front of Coco, which seemed to contain something.
Yanis knelt down to look at it and discovered that the bag contained girl’s clothes and asked, a little curious.
-What is it? Why all of a sudden…
Before the words were out of her mouth, Yanis already understood that those clothes had been prepared by Zain for her.
From last night until now, there were only two people and a cat in this house. Unexpectedly, Zain had let the kitten bring her the clothes.
-Meow -Coco turned around and ran out as if she had completed her task.
Yanis returned to the bathroom with the bag, she opened it and discovered that Zain had even prepared intimate underwear, Yanis blushed and put on the clothes, which surprisingly were her size, Yanis had no idea how Zain knew her size.
Yanis rarely wears dresses, but Zain had brought her a floral country style dress that looked great on Yanis, but she didn’t feel comfortable in it. She tied her hair in a ponytail and left the room.
Yanis thought there was no one in the room but her and Zain, but then she saw a middle-aged woman in the hallway. This woman offered to greet her with a smile.
-Hello, you should be Miss Yanis. I’m the housekeeper in charge of cleaning the place, and the master said I should take you downstairs for breakfast when you woke up.
“Is there a housekeeper here? But the house was clean when we arrived yesterday, and Zain doesn’t usually live here, so someone should clean it regularly.”
Yanis thought about it and smiled at the housekeeper:
-Good morning, what is your name?
-Miss Yanis, I’m Penelope Moncada, nice to meet you.
-Mucho gusto, then I’ll leave first.
-Yes, please be careful going down the stairs.
After saying goodbye to the housekeeper, Yanis headed downstairs. Although he had put on a tight-fitting suit, he was still wearing Zain’s shoes, making it difficult for him to walk down the stairs. He had barely finished walking when he heard a man downstairs say to him:
-Stay here and don’t move.
Yanis looked toward the source of the voice, and met the gaze on Zain.
