Chapter 1147: We are not adequate

Book:Married To The Most Powerful Man Published:2024-5-28

She hadn’t expected the girl to be this stubborn, saying something about an assassin, didn’t she know the importance of these things? It would really be foolish to bet all her happiness on an unreliable person just for the sake of gambling.
-Yes, I am very capricious, and I have never been more sympathetic, does it satisfy you?
Yanis was now so full of resistance to Zain.
As soon as her hand touched the car door, Zain grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms with one hand, while blocking her from the door with the other.
-What are you doing? Let go of me,” Yanis struggled to pull her hand away, but he was so strong that she struggled without being able to free her hand.
But Yanis did not give up and kept struggling to get out.
Zain quickly closed the car door behind him and let go.
Yanis opened the car door several times without succeeding, looking angrily at Zain.
-What the hell do you want?
-I promised your mother I’d get you home safely.
Knowing that the man had a history of incarceration, Zain felt that Yanis was in a dangerous situation and that if she were allowed to spend time with the man, it was not certain that anything would happen.
But what was happening was that the girl was so demeaning to him that whatever he did or said, it made her angrier and angrier.
-I said you promised, I didn’t promise, open the door and let me out.
In response, she was greeted by the sound of Zain driving.
The car drove quietly through the empty streets of the night.
In contrast to the tranquility outside, Yanis’ heart was literally on fire, she didn’t know how things had come to this, it seemed to be getting so upside down and out of whack.
With this in mind, Yanis closed his eyes and leaned away from Zain.
“Give it away if you want, after tonight anyway, whatever you do in the future I’ll pretend I don’t know you, it’s the last time.”
The fact that the girl suddenly fell silent was quite a surprise to Zain.
Yanis got out of the car as soon as it stopped. But Zain kept closing the door so tightly that Yanis could only scoff at her,
-What, Mr. Zain, you’re not going to let me go yet?
-I’m not trying to interfere with you, I just don’t want you to get hurt, don’t hang out with people like that anymore, -Zain spoke lightly and advised.
-Mr. Zain, my house is here, you have done what you promised, can you open the door now?
It seemed useless for him to say anything now, as Zain opened the door and Yanis abruptly ran out of the car and up the stairs.
When Yanis returned, Brisa hurried to greet her, but Yanis would not say a word and plunged into the bedroom, not even wanting to shower, and threw herself under the sheets, letting her tears melt silently into the cotton.
The next day, Gaitan returned to the store after work.
After yesterday’s incident, Yanis now looked at Gaitan with different eyes; he had not expected Cristina to be so unreliable as to introduce her to a man of dubious character.
But Yanis had not yet decided whether to tell Brisa directly about the other man’s prison sentence, or whether he should tell Gaitan privately.
After thinking this over, Yanis approached Gaitan and said.
-Are you free tonight?
Hearing these words, Gaitán froze and then nodded,
-Yes, why?
-I’m rather embarrassed that you come to help in my store every day, so I’m going to invite you to dinner tonight and in the meantime I have a few words to say to you, is that all right?
As soon as Gaitan swallowed her words, he unconsciously thought she wanted to talk about marriage and immediately nodded his head.
In the evening, Yanis went out with Gaitán after talking to Brisa, and when they left the girl’s father was still sitting in his chair drinking tea, watching his daughter and the man together and stroking his chin contentedly.
-What are you laughing at? -Brisa sat down next to him and gave him a disgruntled look.
-I was thinking that my daughter should get married soon, wasn’t I?
-Which one of your eyes saw your daughter getting married? Can’t you see that she and that Gaitan guy don’t get along at all?
Mateo was a little surprised, -Is that so? No, this is getting along quite well.
-It’s good to get along, but don’t you think she’s very polite with people? As she usually does with customers.
When Brisa said this, Mateo thought for a while and realized that what Brisa was saying really made sense.
Yanis and Gaitan took a cab on their way out and went straight to a nearby western restaurant.
He was trying to set things straight, so the western restaurant was a random choice, and his mind was on how to talk to Gaitan without hurting his pride….
So he didn’t even notice that a silver Bentley slowly followed them shortly after the car they got into drove off.
Yanis and Gaitan sit across from each other in the restaurant.
-This restaurant is a good setting,” Gaitan looked at the menu prices and was a little hesitant. It’s a bit expensive.
Hearing this, Yanis replied matter-of-factly, “Don’t worry, I said today it’s on me and I’ll pay the bill.
Gaitan expected it, but didn’t show it.
-How can I let a girl pay for it? It’s so ungentlemanly.
-It’s all right.
Anyway, it was the last meal, and after that there would be no next time.
Once the meal was served, Yanis still had little appetite and looked at Gaitan in front of him and spoke slowly,
-Thank you for your help this time, but I think there are some things I should tell you clearly.
-Well, tell me.
-You are really very nice and hardworking, and my parents like you, and needless to say, Cristina has nothing but praise for you.
These words made Gaitan curl his tail, this woman really thought he was good, was her idea about to come true? It would be nice to have a nice wife to take home and have a ramen store along with her, and then just sit back and wait for the money to be collected and let the woman do the work.
But Yanis’ words would change and suddenly he said,
-But I myself feel that I’m not the right one for you, so….
Hearing this, Gaitan’s expression changed radically.
-What do you mean, you’re not right for me? What’s not right? That I’m not doing enough these days?
-No, you’re doing a great job, it’s just that things like marriage are for life, so I think it’s important for people to be cautious.
