“I’m your king Bianca, address me as such. Unless I tell you to speak, keep quiet!” He ordered then turned back to Lily with an expectant glare. Lily opened her mouth for a moment then quickly closed it. James felt panic clog his paralyzed throat as it that she seemed to be actually considering what Silvano was offering her. Not that he could blame her but this was obviously some kind of trap.
“No,” Lily said finally much to James relief. “I don’t fight not even if a part of me wants to take you up on that offer. She’ll pay but not because I gave into my monsters!” James felt proud of her as Silvano looked at her silently in surprise. He had expected her to accept. Once again James found himself in awe at how much Lily had changed.
“Fascinating,” Silvano said finally then walked closer to her until he was standing in front of her and James silently growled in fury. “You’re moment of dishonor isn’t the only thing I’ve heard hybrid. I’ve heard you’re not like any other hybrid before you. Is it true that you can change the mix between the wolf and my kind? Show me,” he demanded.
“No,” she refused. “I’m not going to enter into games with you, Silvano. Why are you here? What do you want?”
“I said show me,” he demanded and in a flash his eyes turned a bright red. Lily didn’t have a chance to look away. James watched as the anger disappeared from her face until it was blank.
“Oh, Lily I thought you would have learned something from your little doggie friend. Never look a vampire in the eye. Oh, but I forgot you lycanthropes can’t do that without appearing to be weak. What a predicament,” he mocked her. “Now again show me how you can become more vampire,” he ordered, his voice growing colder.
James could tell she was trying to resist but like him, she couldn’t resist the persuasion and did just what he told her to do. Her skin paled, her chest stopped moving as she stopped breathing and her fangs grew till they rested on her bottom lip. “Extraordinary! You look just like one of us! If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were just a normal vampire,” Silvano exclaimed.
He walked around her in circles with a look of pure amazement on his face, both the beast and James was livid with fury. He swore that if the vampire laid just a finger on her, he’d kill Silvano himself. “And you can do this when you want?” The vampire asked.
“Yes,” she said in a flat, emotionless tone but it was also strained. She was still trying to resist his persuasion. Silvano stopped in front of her, standing so close to her that they were almost touching.
“Now to your questions why I am here and what do I want,” Silvano said with another fleeting smile. “Those Aequivalere rats threw me in a cell because I disobeyed in their decision to let you live, but that’s the problem. I never swore to obey them. I didn’t break any of their rules!” he sneered with anger. “I planned to make you pay with your life, but now I’m undecided,” he stated, his voice calmer.
“My king you can’t pos-” Bianca started again and Silvano hissed at her violently.

For some reason, James felt more worried about his plans for her now than when the vampire was planning on killing her. For a second time, he stopped in front of her. “I’m not going to kill you, Lily. With the proper harness and instruction you’d make an excellent pet. You are going to pay for what you’ve done hybrid not by your death but by service,” he stated and he took her hand in his.
James literally started to see red as Silvano raised her wrist to his lips and placed a light kiss there. A growl managed to escape James’ throat. The vampire raised a single black eyebrow as he glanced at James. “It appears someone is rather angry. He must really be enamored with you,” he said amused then looked back to her. “Go back to how you were,” he demanded.
Once again, like a puppet, Lily did as he had commanded her. James watched horrified as Silvano bit into Lily’s wrist and start to drink once she was back to normal. He could see the panic in her eyes, but otherwise she didn’t move a muscle. Damn it, where are those two Aquivalere goons! “Interesting flavor,” Silvano said when he was finished.
“Not my favorite by far but it’s a clean taste and that’s not so easy to find nowadays. Now go back to the vampire,” he ordered and James watched, confused. What was he doing? When Lily was back to being a full vampire, he brushed his fingers softly against her cheek as he looked at her with a small smile and James managed another growl, fighting against the persuasion.
“I’m going to give you the honor of being my blood bound,” Silvano told Lily, but James had no idea what that was. Once more Bianca started to object with a look of disgust on her pale face.
“Bianca you speak once more and I’ll order Lily take her revenge against you,” he told the redhead and once more Bianca fell silent, but she was pouting like some obtuse child. He turned back to Lily then bit into his own wrist. “Drink,” he commanded, holding the bloody wrist to her mouth.
James growled yet again and Silvano looked at him in irritation then quickly turned back to Lily and told her to drink once more. James struggled to free himself and Lily, with jerky hesitant movements, did as the vampire told her. “No,” James spat in a rough animalistic growl.
Silvano’s eyes widened with surprise and quietly urged Lily to drink.
James glared at the vampire as he fought against the persuasion and actually started to feel the numbness start to leave his body. With a roar of determination, he managed to take a step towards him. “Uh my king,” Bianca stated worriedly and Silvano snarled at him. He took another step and a small smile spread across his face as he imagined what he was going to do to that bloodsucker when he got his hands on him.
“Maldito cucho!” Silvano swore. “Enough Lily, it appears your little dog is being rebellious,” he told her and she whimpered softly and leaned towards him as he took his wrist away which only fueled James’ anger. “Don’t worry soon you’ll be able to have more,” he said as he brushed his knuckles affectionately across her cheek. Like a twig, James’ control snapped and the beast took over.
He shifted quickly as Silvano swore in Spanish and Bianca ran, screaming. The beast roared loudly then bared his own fangs at the vampire. Silvano shoved Lily towards him. She stumbled and would’ve hit the ground face first if the beast hadn’t caught her. “You tickle,” she giggled the beast smelled something off in her scent.
He set her on the ground and started after the vampire, but the sound of a struggle made him turn back. The beast cocked his head to the side, confused by the site.
His mate had somehow managed to get tangled in a single solitary tree root. She huffed as she tried to detangle herself. “What’s wrong with this thing,” she said, her voice slurred as if she was drunk. The beast turned to hunt after the vampire again when he heard a wet crunch. Turning again, she had somehow managed to break her nose or so it looked by the amount of blood pouring from it.
