Aubree’s POV
I woke up feeling still heavy. I saw how swollen my eyes were. Fortunately, I do not have a schedule for this day.
I was about to go to my kitchen when I saw Seb cooking, wearing the same shirt that he wore last night.
“Did you sleep here?” I asked then went to him.
He smiled at me. “Good morning Bree!”
I was a bit embarrassed because I forgot to greet him first.
“Good morning Seb!” I said softly.
He smiled at me and then he resumed from cooking.
“Yes. Well, its kind of late and I’m kind of sleepy that is why I decided to just sleep here. Are you mad?” He then looked at me to see my reaction.
“No. Its okay. I prefer you to sleep here, I’m afraid that something bad might happen to you if you insist to drive even though you are already sleepy.” I just said.
He turned off the stove and then he transfer the food in a plate.
He went closer to me wearing his teasing smile.
My eyes narrowed. “Why are you smiling like that?”
His smile widened. When he got close to me he immediately pulled my waist closer to him.
“What’s wrong with my smile?” He said innocently.
I stared at him. “You seem to be planning something bad.”
He laughed so loud. I frowned. What’s funny with what I said?
“I just thought that since you let me sleep on your pad, maybe I should start bringing clothes here in your pad.” He said as he raised his eyebrows at the same time.
My eyes widened. “Excuse me? I won’t agree! Do you want our relationship to be exposed to your mom?”
“I was just joking Bree okay?” He said then I was released and started setting the table for our breakfast.
After breakfast, we sat in the living room. I felt nervous. I know this is the time to talk about what happened last night.
We just kept quiet, seemingly waiting for which of us would speak first.
He turned to me. “Bree are you happy with me?” He asked me a serious question.
I can’t answer. I was unable to answer. Because I myself do not know the answer.
Seb laugh mockingly. “What a stupid question! You just said last night, you are not okay.”
“I said I wasn’t okay. But that doesn’t mean I’m not happy.” I answered.
“Then why aren’t you okay?” Seb asked confused.
I did not answer him. Instead I said what’s bothering me.
“I was happy when you told me you love me. When you told me that Sam and you are just pretending. That all of it were just a plan and you still love me.” I said.
Seb was just looking at me, waiting for what I had to say next.
“When we got back together though we have to do it in secret, I was very happy. We were better and well prepared now compare before. And now we were both fighting for our love.”
“But I can’t be completely happy because I know I’m hurting someone. When my one month deal with Gavin ended, he confessed to me that he fell for me. Then he courted me for real.”
“When he knew about us, that we got back together, he let me go. He moved on.”
“So what’s the problem?” Seb asked.
“He let me go and he started to moved on which is good because I can’t lead him on. But because of that I lost a friend.” My voice almost broke as I said those things.
He hug me, trying to comfort me.
“He is my only friend Seb. Since you left me, I put all my time and priority in my career. I had no time to make friends. When Gavin came to my life, I gained a friend in him. That is why when he left me because he was moving on, I feel like I lost something big in my life.” I added.
I removed his hug from mine and released a heavy sighed.
“Last night, when I saw him I want to hug him and tell him that I miss so much. But I can’t. He treating me so cold. When I saw how happy and caring he is with Sam, I felt jealous. I suddenly wished that Gavin will also treat me like how he treated Sam.” I honestly said.
I swallowed hard. “Then I became confuse. Why am I feeling that way? Am I… am I?-”
“No. You are not in love him. You are in love with me. You are just guilty, because you hurt your friend, and you lost him. But that doesn’t mean you are in love with him.” Seb cut me off.
Is it really like that?
Is he right?
Am I just guilty because I hurt him, and because of that I lost him? Is that it?
Gav’s POV
“Sam can you ask Seb if Aubree is okay?” I said worriedly.
Last night, when she walked out to our dinner, I wanted to run after her but when Seb did, I stopped myself. He’s the boyfriend. He should be the one to run after her and not me.
But I can’t sleep because of that. I tried to call her to asked if she is okay but I can’t. I don’t know what’s stopping me from calling her. She is still a friend so I guess it is okay to call her to asked about her condition.
Maybe it’s because I’m guilty because I know I’m one of the reasons why she walked out. Maybe I was too cold to her that made her feel more guilty. But I know I have to that because if not, I will never be able to forget her.
“I already did Gav and as per Seb she is fine. There is nothing to worry.” Sam said.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard that news.
“I told you she loves you.” Sam said while giving me a teasing smile.
I frowned. “What are you talking about?” I was confused by her claims.
“Aubree love you.” She said with full of confidence.
I laughed at what she said. “Nice try Sam!”
“I’m not joking Gav. Can’t you see how affected she is last night?” She said seriously.
“Yes because she’s guilty. She knew she hurt me.” I said.
“No. She’s affected because she can see that you already move on. And that I succeed from making you fall for me.”
My eyes widened. “What?” What is she saying?
“I talked to her. I told her that I am not really in love with Seb and the man I really love is you. That everything is just part of the plan. And now is my chance to make you fall for me.” She said with a smile seems like telling me that she did a good job.
“Why did you say that?” I asked her.
“To test her if she has a feeling for you.” She said seriously.
I swallowed hard. What is her reaction?
She suddenly laughed. “You can just asked me you know. I know very well that you are so curious and want to know how did she react.”
“Of course not.” I said denying her claims.
“Okay then I won’t tell you.” She said, teasing me.
“How did she react?” I asked a bit nervous to hear the answer.
She chuckled. “I saw fear.”
“Fear?” I asked again.
She nodded. “Yes fear. She’s scared because I might really make you fall for me. Maybe she hasn’t realize it yet but I’m pretty sure that she is already falling for you. I know that because I’m also a girl. What she felt for Seb is just a deception. She deceived her self for a very long that that the only guy she can love is Seb, because they don’t have closure before.” She explained.
“Are you sure?” I asked seriously.
“Yes. Her reaction last night I am 100% sure that she is now in love with you.” Sam softly said.
I can’t help but to feel happy about what she said. What if it is really true? What if Aubree is really in love with me now? I will be the happiest man on earth.
“But how am I gonna make her realize that she loves me?” I asked Sam.
With the kind of smile she is giving me, I knew she already had a plan.
“You already have a plan don’t you?”
She just nodded at me.
“So what’s the plan?”
