AUBREE’S POV
“You and Gavin were what?” Seb asked a bit confused.
I close my eyes. I’m sorry Gavin but I need to do this. Its about time Seb finds out the truth. It may be our last chance and I don’t want to lose it again.
“Me and Gavin were fake.” I said again.
He frowned. The confusion is seen in his eyes.
I heaved a heavy sighed. “That night, Gavin got panic because Sam is about to start her ‘Guilty Drama’-”
“Sam’s guilty what?” He asked confused again.
” ‘Guilty Drama’.” I repeated.
“As per Gavin, Sam’s has this guilty drama thing every time she will learn that Gavin is still single. She assumed that the reason why Gavin is still single is because he hasn’t moved on from her. Sam was the one who broke up with before because she needed to study abroad at that time, and since then Gavin never had a girlfriend after her.” I explained.
“And how sure are you that he has moved on from her?” He asked me.
I shrugged. “Gavin courted her before because of peer pressure. And the only reason why Gavin never has a girlfriend after her is because he is too focus on his career which modeling and his record company.”
“You seems to know each other very well.” He noticed.
I hear jealousy in his voice. I can’t help myself but asked.
“Are you jealous?” I asked him directly.
“What if I am?” He said as if challenging me.
I averted my eyes. I just ignored his answer. Instead, I just answered his earlier statement.
“Well I can say that we knew each other QUITE WELL.” I said to make him feel at ease.
“I consider him as my only friend. As you can see I was so busy with my career to the point that I don’t have time to make friends. That’s why I’m thankful of Gavin’s existence in my life now, because of him, I experience to have a friend.” I said.
He averted his gaze from me. “Good to hear that. So you two plan this pretend relationship?” He asked me seriously.
I shook my head. “No. It just so happened that I was there at that time that is why he introduced me as his girlfriend.”
“And you agree?”
I nodded. “Yes. At that time I felt betrayed.”
I saw the sadness in his eyes.
The pain I felt that night came back again.
“I was so shocked when Sam introduced you as her fiancee. Because I hold on to your promised that wrote in the letter before. That even though we are far away from each other, out love with never change and I will only be the only girl that you will love.” Tears welled up in my eyes.
“Seb I waited for you.” I stopped when I hear my voice broke.
I calm my self first before I began to speak again.
“I believe that we will still end up to be together. The time was not yet right at that time that is why we need to separate for now. We just need to wait for the perfect time and ready ourselves to fight for our love. I knew and I believe that in the end we will overcome all our love trials.”
“That is why I did my best to succeed in my career so that your family will finally accept me. All the things that I’ve done with my career is because of you. My eagerness to succeed and have a name is all because of you. I did my best to succeed to the point that I never had time to have or make friends.”
“But what happened with all my sacrifices?! I waited for nothing! That night, just to save my face from you I agree to his act. But I told him that we will only do this pretend relationship for a month. Because I know that if I prolonged this kind of act and arrangement, there will be a time that I will see and meet you. And that is the last thing I want to do. Because I know that I will have a hard time to moved on from you. And as you can see, our one month deal is over.” I said coldly.
“B-bree I-i’m so s-sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I was doing this for you. Because I know that if I will not follow my mom, she will make you and your family’s life suffer. I rather be the one hurting than you.” He pleaded.
When he said that, I couldn’t help but resent him.
“Seb we are both involved in this relationship. You can’t only be the one who can make a decision. What if I told you that it is okay for me to be tortured by your mom as long as we were together?! As long as I have you I am okay with anything.” I sobbed.
“Bree…”
“Do you think that I will choose my career over you?! That I will prefer a peaceful life without you than a difficult life but you are with me?! Seb! I would rather had a hard time than losing you.” I said while still sobbing.
“Seb I love you so much.” I said with full sincerity.
I feel like I have just released everything inside me that I am trying to control.
“Bree I love you so much too.”
“But you left me.” My resentment can be seen in my voice.
“It’s only temporary Bree. It’s only temporary.”
I frowned. “What do you mean?”
He held my hand. “I will never leave you okay. Just like you I would rather face difficulties than lose you again.”
“But you will get married.” I said confused.
“No. I’m not”
My eyes widened. “You are not?”
“Me and Sam are also fake just like you and Gavin.”
“I do not understand.” I said confused.
“Sam knew about us.”
“I know.”
“And I knew about them and Gav. She told me that Gav is still the one she loves and the one she wants to marry.”
My eyes widened. No. I know and I am sure of what I saw in Sam’s eyes. She loves Seb and not Gavin.
“Are you sure?” I can’t believe it said.
He chuckled. “Yes. I can’t imagine myself marrying any other girls but you Mrs. Dela Rama.”
I blushed when I hear him say that. With all the things he said, all the pain I have felt since he came back here in the Philippines suddenly disappeared.
He stood up and went to me. He offer his hand to me.
After I accepted his hand he pulled me towards him and hug me tightly.
“So are we good now Mrs. Dela Rama?” Seb said softly.
I hug him back. I closed my eyes, I miss his warmth so much. In his arms I always feel safe.
I nodded in response.
“Just wait until I save enough. Enough for us to runaway.” He whispered.
I was so relieved from his embrace. “Run away?”
He nodded and hugged me again. “Yes. Runaway. Runaway from my Mom and start to live a peaceful life with you and your family.”
I removed myself from his hug and I look at him. “With my family?”
He chuckled. “Yes. I know how much you love your family. I know that after we left my mom will surely target your family to break us apart.”
“So you have it all plan huh?”
“Of course.” Then he winked and resumed our hug.
“I love you Bree. And I miss you so much.”
“I love you too Seb and I miss you more.” I said happily.
But my smile banished when I saw the man standing near our place.
