Chapter 52

Book:Saved By The Cold-hearted Billionaire Published:2024-6-3

Vivianne just sighed deeply when she heard what Beckett said. She couldn’t believe how crude her ex-boyfriend’s words were, even the unprofessional behavior he exhibited right in her own office.
“Goodness, Beckett. What are you even saying?” Vivianne asked, trying to calm herself. “And seriously, that was so informative. I’ve learned a lot but you could’ve kept it to yourself.”
Vivianne took the document from Beckett’s hand afterward. She sat down on the couch and began to read the contract.
“This is so long. Are you trying to trick me into signing a Marriage Contract?” the young woman jokes.
Beckett chuckled. He stood up and walked over to Vivianne’s direction, sitting beside her. “That is a good idea, but no. I will not stoop that low to have you.”
“So you’re saying I’m not worth the effort?” Vivianne raised an eyebrow.
“No. I’m saying that you are worth all the effort I can give, but all the efforts I will give should be worthy as well,” Beckett replied confidently. “All the effort and the sacrifices I can give you were all worth it.”
Beckett never failed to make her feel special, whether they were still together or not. That was one thing she loved about her ex-boyfriend… But now she shouldn’t feel that way anymore. Her heart shouldn’t leap with joy at Beckett’s gestures.
She’s here for the sake of their agreement. Nothing more, nothing less.
Vivianne didn’t respond, and despite how hard it was to ignore Beckett’s disdainful look, she did her best to focus on reading. However, the man was really testing her patience.
“You know what? I have been watching porn since yesterday,” Beckett said before leaning back in his chair and crossing his legs. He still looked at Vivianne. “I watched almost all types of porn. Public sex, anal, fake taxis, and other things.”
“Stop talking,” Vivianne bluntly replied and concentrated even more on reading.
“But none of those videos compare to our intimate nights, baby,” Beckett said with a grin, completely disregarding Vivianne’s earlier rebuff.
There, Vivianne’s concentration was completely broken. Alongside her concern about what she saw on Beckett’s laptop earlier, she also remembered what they used to do. The way Beckett kissed her lips and neck, his hands caressing her waist and the middle of her thighs… Her whole body seemed to warm up just remembering those things.
“See? You’re imagining it,” Beckett said, bringing Vivianne back to reality.
“I-I’m not imagining anything, okay? It’s just all the lewd things on your mind!” Vivianne retorted before slightly turning away so Beckett couldn’t see her face.
Her face had already turned red from the memories. Even her ears were turning red now.
Beckett noticed that, causing his grin to widen. He knew her so well. He knew the things that could upset her or turn her on. In this case, it’s the second one.
“No one can make me react like this except you,” Beckett said. “Only you.”
Vivianne quickly turned to look at him, her eyes widening. Her lips parted slightly in surprise. Beckett couldn’t help but close his eyes and curse.
“Shit. You’re making it hard for me,” Beckett muttered, breathing deeply as if struggling. His words had a double meaning.
Vivianne looked innocent, causing his heart to skip a bit, yet she looked like a seductress that he wanted to mess around with.
Vivianne ignored him and continued reading. She shouldn’t stay here for long anyway. She had only promised Alfred thirty minutes, and her father hates false promises. But she couldn’t just sign the contract without reading it thoroughly.
There weren’t too many rules to follow, so she wasn’t complaining. However, she furrowed her brow when she noticed something in the last part of the contract: The final rule.
“Wait… ‘Fall in love with me?'” Vivianne exclaimed, pointing to the bottom of the document. “There should be a ‘Don’t’ in front of that. It should say ‘Don’t fall in love with me,’ right?”
Beckett also looked at it, then grinned. “That’s not a mistake. That’s exactly what I put.”
“Huh? Are you crazy? Why would I need to fall in love with you in our contract?” the woman asked incredulously, but Beckett just shrugged, his grin widening. “I don’t agree with this rule. I won’t sign this until that’s removed.”
The man raised an eyebrow. “But I think you need your client back?”
“I do, but this is nuts!” Vivianne stood up and showed the contract to Beckett. “Our marriage in this contract is only for one year, and you want me to fall in love with you?”
“Well, why not?” Beckett replied.
Vivianne sighed. She’s trying to gather all the patience she has because once it runs out, she doesn’t know what she’ll do. “Erase this, or else, there will be no marriage.”
“I think Alfred won’t like that.”
“Well, I don’t fucking care about what he thinks anymore, but I won’t let myself be used by someone else again, and I know Mama wouldn’t like that for me either,” Vivianne said, her voice tinged with anger. “I’m already doing enough foolishness now, and I won’t let the same mistake happen twice.”
Beckett seemed taken aback by Vivianne’s words. He didn’t intend for her to feel that way. The last thing he wanted was to use her. In fact, he wanted to protect her… and love her.
He sighed before returning to the table. He took the contract from Vivianne and grabbed a pen. He crossed out the last rule. “Here. I erased it.”
“Good. Seems like you know how to compromise.” Vivianne smiled. She took the pen and signed the contract. “Done. So, it’s time for you to do your part, isn’t it?”
“Relax, lady. Of course, I will.”
Beckett grinned. He also signed the contract before taking out his phone from his pocket. He called one of his associates, informing them that they wouldn’t proceed with the transaction with the new client and that they need to return to the Allamino Mafia.
“Boss, our client said it’s not possible, and he claims you’re violating the contract,” Beckett’s associate said on the other line.
“I know. Tell him that we’re going to pay the penalty, but he needs to come back to where he came from,” Beckett said, his voice intimidating. “Also tell him that if he doesn’t follow my instructions, he will regret it.”
There was a brief silence from the other end. His associate followed Beckett’s instructions. After a moment, he spoke again. “Okay, boss. He said he’s coming back.”
“Great,” Beckett said in a cold tone before ending the call. “Done. Check your phone.”
Vivianne followed suit, and a smile crept onto her lips when she saw the text from their associates. Their top client had returned and would proceed with the interrupted deal. She also received a text from Alfred.
[Good job, Vianne.]
“All set,” Vivianne said, her smile widening. “So, see you at the wedding?” she joked.
Beckett only chuckled in response. He took a copy of the contract and handed it to Vivianne. “This is a copy of your contract. Remember that you already signed the contract, and there is no turning back now.”
“Of course.” Vivianne took the document. She folded it in half and placed it in her bag. “I’m not the type of person to break their promises, so don’t worry.”
“Good.”
Vivianne left after that, leaving Beckett alone in the office. His grin widened as he looked at the contract they had signed earlier.
“That’s it, Vivianne. Because you’re mine… Whether you like it or not.”
MEANWHILE, Vivianne couldn’t contain her happiness when she returned to the warehouse. She went to her office to place the contract she and Beckett had signed there.
She first placed the contract on the table intending to take off her coat, but she paused when she noticed there was something written on the back of the contract she had signed. Vivianne almost cursed when she saw what was written there.
[Everything written in print is considered irrevocable. If there is something the other party wishes to change within the rules, the contract must be edited and reprinted.]
“Son of a…” Vivianne just closed her eyes before massaging her temples. People like Beckett really can’t be trusted.
But there is no turning back now. And as time passed, she found herself in an extravagant place, wearing a wedding gown, because it was her wedding day with Beckett.
