I JUST REALIZED that we were making our way out from the arena. My tears are still flowing but I also wipe them violently, I don’t want Nicholas to see me crying but I really can’t stop.
“Fuck! I’m going to kill that man!” Nicholas couldn’t help but say, how tight he was holding the steering wheel as if he wanted to twist in anger.
I bravely held her hand to soothe the anger she was feeling. “Sorry, I don’t want you to worry,” I said in between sobs.
He didn’t answer but could barely hear his gnashing teeth. I sighed in pain, I just closed my eyes firmly and let him drive which I was sure had no direction.
Eventually our car stopped in a park. Even though it was dark in the area, there were still a few light poles that illuminated some of the banks that were there.
I also noticed people in the park, some of them were almost teen agers who were still practicing skate boarding, there were also children running near the lined food stoles.
Moments later he guided me to sit on one of the benches there. The tears are dry in my eyes, the only thing left now is the pain and anguish of my heart.
“A-what are we doing here?” I couldn’t help but ask, while looking back at those skate boarding on the road.
“You have to breathe awhile, and I think this is the perfect place to breathe in,” he said sharply between his quick breaths.
“I’m sorry, I don’t want you to worry about me.” I whispered, that words barely came out of my mouth.
Again he answered with only a sigh and gently took his palm on my shoulder to whip.
I looked up to stop the tears from dripping again.
“I can’t understand the one -sided love you worship. Sometimes we’re blinded by what we think we see, by what we feel like. But we don’t know that we’re the only ones who make our hearts hurt because we don’t accept the truth.” He tilted his head to me then gently grasped my chin to look at him in the eye.
My tears were gathering at the corners of my eyes, but before they could fall he gently wiped them away.
“You shouldn’t cry because of love. The principle is wrong so you cry because you love. Because if he really loves you? He won’t let you get hurt like this.” He kept saying. I shook my head again and again, as if I accept what he said.
Now I realize that until now I was still hoping that we end up together.
“Maybe one day you’ll fine someone who will treat you like his world. Someone who will treat you better. But it’s not now. All you have to do is wait and do your best and be yourself. the right time will come to the right person,” he added, gently stroking my skin.
I took a deep breath and tried to stand on him.
“Good girl..” He smiled broadly at me before tapping my hair gently.
“Now focus on your life.” he adds to me.
There was no answer that came to my mind, because I had no choice but to hug him tightly.
“Thanks, Nick. You don’t know how much you’ve eased me,” I whispered to him.
He didn’t speak, only his tight hug was his answer to everything.

Don’t be nervous. “Nicholas gently adjusted my jacket as we sat inside the airport departure area.
“Hmm, I’m a little nervous.” I hesitated to answer, “It’s my fist time to boarding in a plane,” I nervously said.
“Don’t worry, that’s just the beginning, you’ll get used to it soon. Trust me,” he said to me before giving me another smile on his face.
I nodded and held tightly my passport and some documents I had held earlier.
I took a deep breath, when our flight number was called. I glanced at Nicholas next to me who was holding my hand tightly.
“Ready?” he softly asked, estimating my emotions.
I closed my eyes first and filled my chest with air, before answering.
“Yes, I’m ready!”
****
It was past four o’clock in the afternoon when our plane landed. To this day I still can’t believe I’m in Spain now.
“Did you enjoy the ride?” Nicholas teases me, he was smiling a little with a twist to it. How could I almost hug him the whole trip, especially when the plane experiencing a turbulence which makes my heart even more nervous.
“Are we still alive?” I asked him quietly.
My eyes narrowed because of his reaction. His mouth twitched, and I was pretty sure he was fighting a big smile.
So I slapped his arm before he frowned.
“Of course, we’re still alive,” he said. He seldom smiles with his lips, but the sarcasm still doesn’t go away.
“I don’t know about you,” I sighed.
We both just arranged to sit while someone spoke on the intercom, at the same time as the flight stewardess announced that we could get off.
The airport looked more beautiful than anything that I couldn’t expect. The tiles under my foot were gleamed white. I was even more amazed because of the beauty of the Airport here.
I can’t stop my eyes from looking everywhere. Before I saw it, the breeze was different here than in the Philippines. Even before we left the Airport, my eyes were full of what I saw.
“Let’s go, our service is waiting outside,” Nicholas said, he gripped my hand tight.
We headed outside the airport, and there a man in uniform greeted us.
“Good evening, Mr. Galvez! I’m your driver for tonight.” Introduce the driver. Nicholas just nodded before handing over our belongings to put one by one in the car.
We set sail, although it was getting a little dark and but the view is still beautiful. I used to only see them on posters and Instagram, but now I can almost see them. The whole place was completely surreal, I can’t wait to visit the beautiful places here in Barcelona.
I was startled to feel Nicholas’s head gently touch my shoulder. I tilting my head and look at him from the corner of my eye. He seemed to be tired throughout our trip, he also hugged his tightly in his arms and could hear deep breathing.
Slowly I raised my hand to his head and gently stroked it. I couldn’t help but cloud my eyes. He is always there for me whenever I needed him and never leave me. He’s willing to cheered me up, and give me support whatever decision I make. He didn’t leave, even though he knew he was just what he was in my life but he still preferred to stay by my side.
I closed my eyes with a smile on my face. “Thanks, Nick,” I whispered.
He didn’t answer but I knew he was still awake so I decided to tilt my head to take a nap.
I just opened my eyes when I felt someone caressing my cheek.
“We are here.” His softly voice makes my heart blushed big time.
Our eyes locked, I was frozen for a moment before the corner of my mouth resumed their usual softness and my eyes quit staring.
“Uh, I’m sorry I slept so long.” I quickly adjusted my seat and glanced at the dark sky outside.
“I don’t want to disturb you but maybe it’s better if you rest in the suite,” he said with husky soft voice.
I pressed my lips together and swallowed with effort before insisting on leaning on the chair. “I’m sorry, I’m just a little tired from the trip.” I apologized. He rubbed both palms on his face.
I could feel his deep sigh before speaking again. “It’s okay, let’s get inside the hotel,” he said to me before finally getting out of the car which I immediately followed.
A few steps from the main entrance of the Hotel I could see the row of employees. I also noticed some foreigners smiling broadly at us.
“Good evening, Mr. President! Welcome to Galvez Hotel!” all greetings of them to us.
My jaw dropped in surprise, if I could just pick up my jaw on the tile brown floor I would do it because of the suddenness. Is he the owner of this hotel?!
