BESTFRIEND, hurry up, we might be late for the concert! “Jackilyn kept knocking on my bedroom door.
“In a moment!” I first glanced at my black T-shirt and crack jeans dyed with white rubber shoes. I also wore a bull cap to hide my face.
“Nice outfit huh,” Jacky stated.
I just shrugged my shoulder and we went down stairs. Nicholas is waiting fo us to arrived. I thank him for accepting my invitation to watch the concert, just because of Jackilyn’s request.
“Good evening!” He a warm greeting to me.
“Hi, handsome!” Jackilyn greeted him.
He just gave a nod before turning his attention to me. “Can we leave now?”
I nodded one after another, before saying goodbye to Dad who was in the kitchen.
While in Nicholas’ car, Jackilyn did not stop her mouth because she was so excited at the concert.
“Why didn’t you buy a VIP ticket?” she asked me.
I shook my head repeatedly. Several times I had explained that the VIP ticket had run out and Nicholas and I could not reach to buy one so we were a bit far from her seat.
“You can move to our place,” I joked
“Hey, no! I’m okay in my seat, and at least the Logistic band is within my reach!” She smiled as she looked in the rear view mirror where I was watching him from the front seat.
“It’s your choice,” I replied, I glanced at Nicholas who was just silent while driving.
“Are you alright?” I grabbed his arm so he barely glanced at me.
“You’re the only one I’m worried about…” he said softly.
I took a deep breath and quickly glanced down the road. I know he’s thinking that we can meet Rexon but it looks like it’s not going to happen.
When we reached the arena, it was crowded, we also patiently lined up to get inside. Jackilyan left us because the ticket he had chosen was in the VIP seats while we were on the left in the upper seat not far from the stage.
“Are you okay here?” Nicholas barely whispered to me, for the sheer force of the scream inevitably approached me.
“Yeah, it’s a good place for us.”
I watched the fans in front of the stage where some were standing, while Jackilyn were in the triangular box where they could see the Logistic face to face.
“It’s better in this position,” he agreed. I knew someone else wanted to interpret what he said. How come we aren’t too hit by the naughty spotlight, it’s hardly noisy in our side so we hardly notice it. That would have been my intention at first but I couldn’t see the crowd and they were screaming for Logistic it seemed like I wanted to jump down to shout and cheer on the band coming out.
“Do you want us downstairs?” He whispered to me.
I frowned and glanced slightly at him.
“No, Nick we’re in a better place. It’s not too crowded, we’ll definitely enjoy it more because it’s not messy,” I said with a bigger smile on my face, but I lied.
“I agree with you…”
I didn’t answer because the stadium suddenly got dark at the same time the crowd shouted loudly.
“Logistic! Logistic!” Shouts of the audience were shaking in my ears.
I wanted to shout but I firmly restrained myself. My body flinched as the single spotlight opened where it focused on Rexon.
My heart pounding fast, it was as if I was running a few kilometers away due to a series of hits to my chest. I could feel the sweat drying out my skin and the throbbing of my own eyes. I tighter my teeth to my lip than ever.
I close my eyes when he starts typing the guitar. My fingers curl into a fist, nails digging into my palm. I thought I could see him again, but I was wrong, I couldn’t help but get emotional as I stared at the man everyone seemed to adore.
It’s as if his heart is pierced every time he plays the guitar. Gradually come back to me how we got to know each other. How the world didn’t turn right on me and how he was able to hurt me over and over again. But I quickly looked up when I felt Nicholas’s palm touch my hand.
“It’s okay, I’m just here. Let’s just enjoy the night,” he whispered again, before gently pulling me upright.
The whole crowd fell silent as the song began. They were like for my walk on the cloud because of the beauty of his voice. His voice sent a shiver down my spine, smooth and clear taking high notes in a long painful fury.
My heart was constantly hurting. His words splintered inside me. I wanted to step my feet to get away from this place, I had to get away from here… Away from those things but I couldn’t.
“How are you!” I was startled to hear the voice he spoke. He turned out to be the end of a song.
“Hi!” Loud shouts of the crowd answered..
“Are you enjoying?!” he shouted into the mic again, before raising his hand in the air.
Loud shouts of the crowd answered.
“He’s a really good singer.” Nicholas praises, tilted his head to me so there was no reason not to nod.
I can’t take my eyes off him now that he’s talking to Jeff, who doesn’t use a mic.
“This next song is dedicated to someone I love,” he uttered, a deep curve on his lips stopping the world around me. He looked up at the audience and rolled his eyes.
The crowd couldn’t help but shout, while some screamed in excitement and others seemed disappointed.
“I like her when she’s in faint. I admire him when he’s breakable. And I love how she handles her weaknesses, face all the struggles and fears. I’m just here to love you from afar… ” he whispered, the eyes glistening in the dark. Perusing the sea of faces in hope of a man.
“I hope she’s listening now. Just call my name and I’m a call away.”
My body spread with pain. I felt my cheek get wet, I tightly covered my mouth so that it wouldn’t make a noise, but I didn’t have the guts to hug Nicholas there that poured out the emotion before I was restrained.
I cried in his arms, as I filled around with the song he offered for the woman he loved. It was as if I had been killed over and over again, the pain rising in my heart was unforgivable.
“Ssh, let’s get out of here,” he whispered to me and held my hand tightly away from that place.
