MY SMILE was wide from looking at our little house. The magic things about home is that it feels good to leave and it feels even better to come back.
“Home sweet home!” I muttered.
“Good morning!” I greeted warmly since I entered our house. But instead of surprising them, I was surprised because of the unexpected person at the table with them.
“Ate, Cherry!” Andrew strikes with exhilarated on his chair from seeing me. He was also excited to stand up to greet me with a hug.
“Cherry, it’s good that you’re home now!” Dad glanced slightly at Rexon next to him before continuing. “Mr. Del’torre brought breakfast, come join us first,” he greeted.
He comfortably laid his back against the chair, his face held forward in steady gaze, The jacket he wore over his broad shoulder had neatly polished in white color. The reflection of his entire body screamed graciously and everything in him was so damn perfect!
I lightly shook my head and don’t give a damn, even though I want to hug him and lock in his iron-like arm. Instead of answering, I stepped closer to Dad. “How are you here? I miss you so much,” I whispered to him, after kissing him on the cheek I turned around.
“Andrew, get Cherry’s plate to join us!” command by Tita Melva.
“No, auntie, I’m still full, I’ll just go upstairs to rest.” I grumbled, turning my back on them to head for the stairs.
“You should eat more… ” I heard what Rexon said to Dad. I choppily bite my lips and shut my eyes.
“Thank you for visiting here regularly to bring me this nutritious food and fruit.” I even heard Dad answered. I gasped heavily, then suddenly I stopped at middle of the stairway.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m happy to visit you here every day,” Rexon replied.
I shut my eyes more vigorously, before deciding to continue to go upstairs. My body collapsed and I laid myself on the bed. Even if I want to sleep I can’t. What is he doing here? Does he come here every day to visit Dad? Dad didn’t mention anything to me when we talked on the phone, so why would he do that? I did a series of shakes before pulling my cellphone out of the bag.
I slid the screen and I found out that I have three misses call from Nicholas. Some messages also came along with his constant morning texts to me. I started typing a message for him but suddenly it rang.
He is calling.
I answered it right away before hugging my favorite hotdog pillow. “Hello?” My voice was delightedly alive.
“Oh hi! Finally you answered my call too, so how are you?” Nicholas said excitedly.
“Hmm, I’m good, I’m sorry.” I apologized, “How are you?” I asked joyfully.
“Well, I’m sitting here at my favorite swivel chair thinking about you.” I heard his husky voice over the phone.
I rolled my eyes skyward, yeah! The same Nicholas I know, “Really, huh? Then what else are you thinking about?” I asked him sweetly. I want to accompany his trip today.
“Nuh, you don’t want to know more…” he chortled.
“Come on, Nicholas, try me!” I’m carving.
“How about lunch date? I’ll tell everything what I’ve had been thinking this past few days.” His voice was baritone to speak, so I suddenly got up from lying down.
I scoffed, “A-are you serious?” I stuttered, words too bristly to my throat.
“Of course I’m serious, are you off? I’ll go pick you up then,” he answered quickly.
“Gosh! Alright, I’ll wait for you.” I replied, I also quickly turned off the call after holding my forehead.
“Holy shit!” I was patted on the forehead.
What will he think of me after I rejected him? But we’re friends right? There is nothing wrong having a friendly date right? Right? I nodded to myself before adjusting myself when he arrived.
I stayed in my room for a few more minutes before I was awakened by Andrew’s knocking from outside.
“Someone is looking for you!” he said between knocks.
I quickly glanced at the red pouf dress I was wearing, even my light make-up and tint lipstick that gave a simple look to my posture before I left the room.
“OMG! Why is it raining a handsome people here today?!” Andrew could hardly speak as someone seemed to be tickling his groin.
“Tch,” I just shook my head and decided to go down. I found Nicholas sitting on the couch across from Rexon, they were obviously talking seriously when I reached them. Rexon clenched his fistes hand in front of him, while Nicholas leaning comfortably on the couch.
I immediately cleared my throat to arouse the tension between them so they quickly turned to me.
“Hi!” Nicholas greeted me. He decided to stand up to greet me. He carefully enfold his hand on my waist and peck a sweet kiss on my cheek.
“I love the way you look today,” he barely whispered to me. I quickly blushed at what he said, I also barely glanced at Rexon who I knew was back on the couch because of the scene I saw.
“Looks like you have a date today, huh?” A masculine voice says behind us. I firmly bit my lip and ignored him. I wanted to hate that question so I smiled at Nicholas.
“Let’s go?” I muttered to him and without saying a word I pulled his hand out. I didn’t even pay attention to the reaction that Rexon and I would have, which I knew I still couldn’t handle all of a sudden.
“We have to go, It’s nice to see you again Mr. Superstar!” Nicholas said, who did not forget to tap on the shoulder. I just ignored what Nicholas said to Rex that I know hit his pride of what he did.
“Dad!” The trained one was stunned when we met him entering the door.
“Oh, where are you going?” Full of astonishment of his question to us. And he frown when Nicholas looked up next to me.
“Ah, Dad is Nicholas, my boss. The owner of T-shirt & Glam.” I shyly introduced him to my father.
“Good morning, sir,” he greeted him with a handshake.
“Good morning too, why don’t you have a snack first.” Dad was reluctant to invite the newcomer.
“Ah, not anymore Dad. Nicholas and I have a meeting today. We’ll probably just eat there,” I said promptly.
I noticed Dad glancing behind us before scratching his head. “Well then, go ahead and be careful.”
“Thank you, Dad,” I sweetly said. I hugged him tightly. I know he has a lot of questions for me, and I’m so glad he didn’t ask Nicholas.
We had been in the car for a few minutes but still nothing broke the silence between us. I took a deep breath, and carefully looked at Nicholas expression. He is more serious than I expected.
