“CHERRY ONE MOJITO!” A woman named Cyril approached me.
“Ah, all right,” I said that I turned my back on her but I stopped again, wait, how can I do that? I glanced at Brian who was still busy with what he was doing. So embarrassed to approached him.
“Excuse me, someone ordered a Mojito.”
“Can’t you do that?” He asked as he continued to wipe the glass.
“I’m sorry, but w-I have no idea how to mix a cocktail.”
He faced the table and began to pull out a high glass.
“This is a sparkling water with mint. And you can also add a simple syrup like strawberry or blue berry. Ice then garnished with some lime and a spring of mint.” He quickly ended the mixing as if it was a demo to me. I was impressed by his speed as if it had been trained in that field.
He handed me the glass after signaling for me to take it to the counter.
“S-thank you.” I smiled at hi. then quickly turned away. When I came back, it was already releasing liquors and glasses.
“This is what customers often order. You have nothing else to do just deliver it.” He raised an eyebrow at me after he said that.
I nodded again and he continued wiping a few glasses. We also had a few customers before lunch, I thought it would be easy to serve a drink, more agility and sharpness of mind is needed because of the variety different kinds of wine ordered by the customer, you should also memorize the blends that I think I do not remember any of what Brian’s taught me.
“Good afternoon Sir!” I looked at those voices of some waitress and the man they greeted.
My fatigue was immediately relieved when I saw the man who entered the entrance of the Restaurant. He was handsome in a white long sleeve polo shirt that was folded up to his elbows, and his denim pants that clung to his round thighs. I just wanted to shout as it seemed to be in slow motion walking closer to where I was standing.
I felt Brian’s elbow on me so I went back to the vice.
“Hi!” I immediately said that the smile was still wide in the sunshine.
I noticed some waitresses and cashiers looking at me when I said that to Calix.
“How are you here?” he asks without emotion and we bowed at the bar counter.
“I’m Fine, Brian is good at teaching!” I patted his on the shoulder which seemed to surprise me.
He glanced slightly at the one next to me and in the palm of my hand that was still on his shoulders.
“So, wanna go out for lunch?” Let’s get it right and look at his wristwatch.
I quickly glanced at the group of waitresses who had gathered not far from us before looking back at Calixto.
“Ah, Sir, is it embarrassing?” I immediately replied. Sorry guys! I couldn’t help but shudder as they glanced again at their sharp eyes at me.
He smiled at what I did and without saying a words, then he just hissed. The redness on my two cheeks quickly rose because of what he did.
“Follow me at my office.” He already started to turn his back on me.
I was left stunned just looking at him. If some waitress hadn’t approached me I wouldn’t have been conscious.
“Did we hear it right? He’s wants following him to his Office?” Mia asked me an arousing question.
“For sure she’ll be scolded. She was caught doing nothing!” Someone’s says.
“Girls stop!” Cyril told to them and smiled at me.
“Gosh, go ahead and suck on that so you can both be fired from work!” Stella said to me.
“What ‘s happening here?” Almost at the same time we turned to the speaking Miss. Ruiz.
“What are you doing? It’s time for work!” She said strongly but softly and then turned her gaze at me.
“What did Calixto told you? Follow him to his office, why are you still here ?!”
“Ha? A-ah, yes ma’am!” I walked quickly to Calixto’s Office to knock.
“Come in!” said a cold voice.
I took a deep breath before turning the door open.
I reached for him who’s busy signing some documents on his table so, I patiently wait for him to finish. I flinch as he suddenly closed the folder and stared at me for a long time.
“How was your first day here?” he asked as he leaned back in his swivel chair.
“Fine, great! I’m still a little nervous but they’re all kind.” I smiled at him a little but that smile faded because his gaze remained on me.
“A-ah, do you need anything?”
He straightened up and glanced at his wristwatch again. “You only have twenty minutes remain to eat your lunch, so shall we?” He started to stand up and walk towards me.
“Wait – are you sure?” When I confirmed, I thought he could have put me in this shift to avoid our issue, but what is it?
“Are you questioning me?” He bowed to me with his forehead furrowed.
“No! Of course not!” I backed away from him slightly to avoid him. I don’t want him to think that this has something to me.
“Then follow me, out side.” He passed to go out first.
I just sighed and started to take off the apron I was wearing and left it on his couch before leaving. Once again the critical look of the employees made me cringe. Well I got outside quickly and looked at his black Ford.
I reluctantly approached when the door immediately opened from the inside. My two hands clasped as he maneuvered the car away.
I also prayed that it would not open a conversation first because I would definitely stumble due to nervousness.
“Where do you want to eat?” He asked when the pace slowed down because we had already crossed the Restaurant row.
“Anywhere…” I seemed to be eating my voice as I spoke. He turned to me as I stiffened my neck, which seemed to be due to nervousness.
He took me to a restaurant. The ambience is good, well moderate and relaxing the former. The lamps hanging from the ceiling were fun, because the theme of the place was a bit dim and it really grabbed the attention of the whole room.
Were sitting in a corner which became even more romantic for me because they still had a candle light placed in the middle of the table.
I let him order our lunch for us. Because I can’t keepmy eyes wandering around because of the unforgivable beauty of this restaurant.
I was just sitting down when a waiter brought us red wine. Although I’m not used to drinking.
I tried to taste it and it was delicious, not too strong and very smooth on the throat.
I glanced at Calix with parted lips who drank his wine sexily.
“How was it?” This question brought back my resentment.
“Uh, yeah the wine? Great, good!” I smiled at him broadly. Then slightly raised the glass.
I saw his lip lift at my answer so I nodded again to relieve the awkwardness between us. I am also thankful because the ordered food has arrived and I ate it quietly.
“How is Daddy Gorio doing?” he ask with a couple of minutes.
I seem to have lost my appetite when Dad came to mind again. I can’t say that dad is fine when I truth is he’s not.
“I’m sorry for asking you that question, I should have been civilized and gentle with my question,”he apologize.
“No! It’s… It’s okay. You don’t need to worry about!” I replied that I insisted on continuing the meal.
“I just want to tell you that the money is ready for your Dad’s operation,”
My face immediately lit up at what he said but it also quickly became stained with intense shame so I bowed.
“H-I don’t know how thank you.” My voice was barely broken as I spoke.
“Its okay, Cherry, I ‘m happy to help you.” He grabs one of my hands on the table.
I shook my head down and wiped a tear from my cheek. “S-thank you, thank you very much.” I took courage as I also gripped his hand that was holding me tightly.
“Again, its nothing. Finish your meal and go back to work.” He pulled his hand away from me so I continued to rub my lips in shame.
Yeah, It is nothing…” I mere whispered to myself.
