OMGEE! Tell me that this is just a dream?!” Jacky held me on both shoulders as his eyes widened at me.
I rolled my eyes at him because I almost lacked the excitement I felt when I recounted what Rexon and I had talked about earlier.
“This is really unbelievable! Is it true that you will be Rexon Del’torre’s PA? The heartrob of my life? My prince charming? The one who will fulfill my dreams and fill my cold nights.” She looked up while the two hands clasped as if she’s dreaming.
“I still didn’t accept the offer then stop fantasizing about him! You don’t deserve a man like him, just find someone else who will fill that in your fantasy because I know the intestinal coil of such people! ”
“There is nothing wrong if I like him, ’cause even if I am just one of his women I will be. How about you? Did he not even cross your mind?” Trembling again by her words as if she swallowed by fantasy.
“Hmp, I never dreamed of being with his women, period.” I even pressed my index finger to the table as a sign of oath.
“Ah-uh, don’t talk about it then you might swallow what you said?” Her eyebrows rose to mine.
There was no reason for me to repeat what she said so I just shook my head at it.
“How come you only see Calixto, eh I heard that he’s dating someone now. ” She glanced at my reaction but I chose to poker face her.
“I told you if you really are his typed he will courted you already,” she said it directly.
I was offended by what she said, but I knew she was saying it just to wake me up to the truth.
“Oh, I’ll better get going. I’ll be back tomorrow.” She has already begun to stand.
“Thank you for the fruits you brought, let me when I get back to work I will get back to you.” I grabbed one of her hands.
“No worries. If I can just hand over a lot of money I will do it for you, my friend.” I smiled at her while shaking my head.
“You just are enough,” I said and delivered her out of the Hospital.
I decided to go back to my father’s room, even if I wanted to smile, I couldn’t because of the collar attached to it. I stopped the tears from falling and forced myself to calm down.
I stroked the trunk of his hair and looked at him with pity in his eyes.
“Dad, don’t worry, I will have surgery on you.” I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes tightly. Until now, I have been thinking about that offer from Rexon to me. In fact I will have no problem if I agree to his offer. I’m sure my father will be operated on because I will not look for anything else to fill in the money that Calixto wants to borrow from me.
The next day I arranged to go in early, even though I could not leave Dad. I could do nothing, because I had to work hard for his treatment while the operation was not yet underway.
I glanced at my white polo shirt and pencil cut black skirt that would not exceed my knee. I also gently applied lipstick to my red lips before I closed my locker room.
“Good morning!” I greeted to the co-workers. Twenty minutes before it opened, the waitresses were almost inside.
Some were full of astonishment, while others frowned and whispered when they saw me. My smile suddenly faded because of their reaction.
“Aren’t you on a night shift yet?” A waitress asked me that I think just my age.
“I moved to another morning shift.” I smiled at her but she only raised an eyebrow at me after approaching the comrades and at the same time she glanced head-to-toe.
My lips lifted because of the way they looked at me.
I turned to the woman who suddenly spoke. “Okay guys! Back to work, I want the tables and windowsill to be shiny! I’ll reflect on the flooring later when I don’t see my beauty there will be a deduction right away, is that clear?!” Shout of a slender woman.
“Cherry mae right?” she asked as I nodded.
She grabbed me by the two shoulders and presented to the employees.
“All eyes on me!” She catches everyone’s attention.
“This is Cherry mae Banaag. Our new member for the morning shift. Kindly introduce your self miss. Banaag!” she command.
“Hi! I’m Cherry mae, Banaag 23, from Brillante st. San Bartolome. I’m your new-co-workers.” I sparingly introduce myself.
“Mia!”
“I’m Cyril!”
Some women raise their hands to me.
“Garrett! And I am Joe!” Some men introduced themselves and waved at me, while others just whispered and raised an eyebrow at me.
“Okay! Get back to work!” The Manager next to me just said, I glanced at its name pin.
“Ah- Thank you, Ms. Ruiz,”
I said.
“All right, your duty is at the counter.” She pointed me next to a bar tender.
“In the meantime, be there first, because there are already a lot of waitresses in this shift, I wonder Calix why he put you here.” She barely scratched his senses.
I did not comment on that matter because I do not want to mention the real reason why I moved to the morning shift.
“Brian, you take care of Cherry, alright.” She calls attention of a man wiping the glasses. He glanced slightly at me then went back to what it was doing.
