“Yeah.” she heard Hael said. “I’ll be back later. Doctor Moon, you shouldn’t bother yourself coming here at the first place, you know.”
She saw them leave her room. “Have you noticed that Hael is acting weird recently?” She heard Rovi asked Nurse Dy.
“Are you friends with him, Nurse Dy?” she asked.
Nurse Dy looked at her and smiled. “Yes, we are friends. Miss Li also was a good friend of him.” he answered. She saw Nurse Dy faced Rovi. “He’s always acting that way.”
“Well, I just find it weird but if you say so… By the way, how is she, Miss Li?”
“You can tell by the way you see.” Miss Li answered.
She’s standing in front of Nurse Dy while Miss Li is sitting on her bed. She turned around and smiled at Miss Li. She walks slowly because it’s her first time walking without the help of her walker.
“Hmm… I can see that you’re doing fine now. We’ll be doing some tests then, if you’re clear that’s the good sign that you’re fully recover. Now, I’ll take my leave.” Rovi said, he was about to open the door when he turn around. “Miss Li, don’t overdue the walking practice. Grace, take a rest if you feel tired from practicing. Don’t push yourself too much.” he added.
Everyone laughed aloud when Rovi left her room. She’s really clueless why are they laughing, including her family laughs. She saw Hael opened the door and laughing neither. “That Doctor, he kept on reminding me not to exhaust his patient. So, Nurse Dy and Miss Li don’t make her get tired.” he joked on.
“Nurse Dy, you told me before that you’ll tell me who baked those cookies that we eat every snack whenever I have to take my medicine every midnight, right?”
Everyone stopped laughing and looked at her. Nurse Dy looked at Hael. “Should I tell her now?” he asked.
“Yeah, I guess… She had the right to know.” Hael said.
“Hael was the one baking those breads and cookies for you.” Nurse Dy said.
“Miss Li, which charity work won’t be paid off. If you want that charity work, get your wages to that doctor.” Hael said. “You’re over doing it and I’m serious, I won’t pay that charity work of yours.”
Miss Li laughed. “You just hate me touching her like this, uh…” she joked on.
“No, I’m just telling you that I can’t pay your charity work.” Hael said seriously.
“It’s okay; I’m doing this because I want to. I have improvements, do you want to try?” she asked.
“No.” he shortly replied.
“I just noticed you’re gloomy. Is there something wrong?” she asked.
He smiled at her. “Nothing’s wrong, I’m just not feeling well.”
She can see how he hides what’s bothering him through his smile. She smiled back. “Come on, speak it out.” she insists.
“Well, I think I’ll be seeing you off on this hospital then maybe, I’ll be the one who will be going to send you on your way home if Rovi can’t.” he said. “I have to leave now. I’m back teaching on the university, I need to save money for my business trip on England.”
“I see, then I want to see you off.” she said.
“No, you don’t need to. You need to rest, besides… My flight is early in the morning so you can’t see me off.”
“Hi!” someone said on the door. She saw JL.
“Come in. What are you doing there?” she said.
“Well, I felt awkward coming in.” he said.
“Don’t be. Grace, I’ll be going now. See you next week.” Hael said then wink.
“Yes, see you next week. Take care.” she said.
JL sat near her bed. “Next week? What’s with next week?” he asked.
“Uh, next week, I’ll be able to go home.” she replied.
“Nice. That’s good news.”
“Yes, and I’m so excited to go home. They said, I’ve been here for almost two years or exact, that’s why I’m really excited.” she said.
She saw Miss Li waved her hand unto her just to let her know that she’ll be going, she waved her hand too. She saw Rovi came in. “Miss Li, you’re going now?” he asked. Miss Li just nod then left. “Nurse Dy, how about you?”
“I’ll be staying until next week.” Nurse Dy replied shortly.
“Excuse me.” she heard him say to JL. “Grace, did Hael already tell you about next week?”
“Yes, he already told me.” she said with a smile on her lips.
“I can see that you’re excited, uh… I can’t send you home that day because I’m in duty but I’m sure, Hael will do it for me but if I’ll be on duty after, I can send you home to make sure your safe.” Rovi says. Grace just smiled. Nurse Dy checked her blood pressure while Rovi writes on her paper records.
“JL is there something wrong?” she asked.
“Well, I just came here to tell you that, I like you and I won’t give any way unto someone. I hope, you’ll consider me again after I told you that I just want us to be friends, only best of friends. I’m coward that time but I won’t back out now.”
She smiled. “I do appreciate what you feel for me but I have to think more, I hope you’ll give me some time.”
“I will wait until you have decided.” he said straight from her eyes.
“Hi!” Hael said. “All your hospital bills are paid and I’m ready to help you from packing some of your stuffs, is everyone ready?”
“Yes, I’m really excited to go home now. I really miss the smell of my room.”
“Then, that’s good. Mom, I’ll carry those for you.” Hael said and carried those things that her mother carries. “Win; is that all your stuffs?”
“Yes, just do what you have to.” Nurse Dy said.
“Am I late?” Rovi asked.
“Just a little, carry this and I’ll assist Grace.” Hael said.
“What?!”Rovi asked while getting all the things that Hael gave.
“My flight is tomorrow morning, so let me have her today. Don’t oppose because you can be with her whenever you want. Can you give her time to me just for this day?”
“Okay, okay, but just for this day.” Rovi joked on.
When they reached their house, Hael cover her eyes using his hands. “Close your eyes.” he whispers. “At the count of three, you’ll open your eyes.” he said. “One, two, three!”
“Welcome Home, Grace!” greets all of her family, friends and classmates.
