It was after lunch when Nurse Dy reached the hospital. Rovi had to take over of taking notes of all the process for Grace’s therapy. He can’t get mad because he enjoyed a lot although he was lacking on his job as the doctor of the hospital. After the therapy, he thanked all of the nurses and doctors who cover him on the time of his rounds. He sighed. “I can’t say it’s okay but I hope next time, this won’t happen again.”
He saw how Nurse Dy was upset on what had written on his face. “Thank you very much.” Nurse Dy said then went inside the room with a smile on his lips after he saw how he’s very upset.
“Nice shifting of mood, uh… Resemblance of Hael, you really are his friend.” he mumbled. “Speaking of him, he hadn’t given me a look after we last talked, not even a phone call after. Being very busy, huh…”
He’s excited to go unto her room to check her although he was with her all night and half of the day. When he opened the door, he saw her holding a familiar card but when Grace saw him, she instantly put it on a black book and put the black book under her pillow. He smiled at her. “I can see how your improvements are.” he commented then faced Nurse Dy. “Did you study the notes?” he saw him nod and then he ask Miss Li. “How is she?”
“Well, her body response greatly; I guess, it won’t take any longer and she’ll soon stand.” Miss Li replied.
“Nice to hear that.” he said then look at her. He saw a glance of sadness in her eyes while looking unto the window. “Grace, it’s for your safety not to go out. Your family agree about that although you aren’t that agree so; kindly understand that we just want your safety.”
“I know. I’m just a bit nervous.” she said.
He saw how Nurse Dy walked towards her. “Nervous, of what?” he heard him asked.
Grace smiled at him. “I’m just nervous because I don’t know how will I thank my sponsor and will I ever meet that person?”
He saw Nurse Dy smiled. “Don’t be, you’ll thank that person enough by recovering. That person is just waiting for you to be happy.” he said to Grace and stood-up. “You have to eat now and take your medicine. After three hours of sleep, I’ll wake you up for your therapy.”
“Nurse Dy, can we talk for a second?” Rovi asked then left the room with him.
They went to his room at the hospital. “Where’s Hael?” he asked
Nurse Dy smiled through relief. “I thought you’re going to asked me about Grace.” he joked on replied.
He chuckled. “I’m not like that. Well, I do thank you that you comfort her like that because if I’ll be the one who will do it, it’ll probably turn into saying like I love you.”
Nurse Dy laughed. “Well, Hael is out of town right now with his family. Didn’t he tell you? Oh, spoiled his surprise.”
He laughed. “I see, and then I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that. I’ll be waiting for his come back.”
“Well, he told me just in case I spoiled his surprise… he said, Tell him not to wait for me, people will have a wrong interpretation, so… don’t wait for him. He also said, focus on what is goal, for you’ll never know even if you’re a tiger and the other guy is a puma, he’s still the lion and just waiting to devour the two of you for his precious kitten, that’s all.”
He laughed. “He’s still into that, uh…”
“Yes, I have to go now.”
He smiled at him. “Thank you.”
After two weeks, he saw the familiar card once again. Rovi was so overwhelmed that he can’t hide his excitement. Out of blue, he dialed the number of Hael. “I think she already remember me.” he said when Hael answered his call.
“Do you know what time is it?” Hael said monotony on the line. “Besides, don’t expect too much. I just gave it to her the last time we meet.”
“What?!” he asked out loud.
“Don’t shout on the line.” he said then sighed. “I didn’t have the chance to give it to her four years ago because she lost her memories that time and I don’t want to confuse her. I have to end it now; do you know how much you spend just by this call?”
“I don’t ca–” he didn’t have the chance to end what is he trying to say when he heard that the line gets off. “I need some explanations here, okay?” he whispered.
He heard some knock on his door after he checked on Grace. It was seven in the evening. He opened the door to look. He was a bit shock when he saw who it is. “What do you need?” he asked with irritable look.
He saw how JL entered his room without his permissions. “I want you to distance yourself from her.”
He smirked. “Mr. Cortez, you can’t command me of what I want to do.”
JL smirked too. “Just so you know; I still have the chance.”
Rovi nods. “If you still have the chance, why do you demand to make some distance? Losing your confidence?”
“I won’t let you have her!”
“Then, I won’t let you take her away from me.”
“I’ll do my best to make her fall for me again because I like her.”
“Oh, I see… Well, I’ll just do my best effortlessly to make her remember our love because I love her unlike you who just like her. If you see the difference then you must move and let her go because you don’t deserve her, not deserving enough.”
“Oh, so… you’re the one who deserve her, uh?”
“Yeah, I deserve her, her love much, more than you. She’ll go to choose me whether you don’t like it or you’ll never like it.”
“Let’s see…”
“Don’t boast yet, and even if you have her, I can steal her away from you. Mark my words!” Rovi says confidently.
